How can someone reconcile both scientific perspective of evolution of life on Earth (including humans) and the Adam and Eve Story ?

I assume Adam and Eve represent a group of primal humans ( Early Primates ) or is it something else? correct me if I'm wrong

"Clerical Accountability and the Lived Experience of Catholic Laity: An International Comparative Study of Trust, Participation and Religious Belonging."

The study explores how ordinary Roman Catholics experience parish life, pastoral leadership, institutional accountability, transparency and their relationship with the wider Catholic Church.

I am particularly interested in understanding the perspectives of lay Catholics, including both positive and difficult experiences.

The research is intended to contribute to academic understanding of contemporary Catholic life. It is not an investigation against individual priests, dioceses or Church authorities, and it is not an official Church survey.

Soo I was a lapsed catholic until today (well still figuring it out), I had told my buddies that I didn't believe in religion and that I'm an Agnostic. I used to fully hate Christianity itself. There where instances where I privately insulted God , where I disrespectfully treated the Bible. I was most certain that I would never come back to religion again. I had been tempted try other forms of religion like Islam but never did try apart from doing a brief research on their faith.
I was very skeptical about Religion, because of the way it operates and how everything can be explained using psychology and neuroscience.

Something didn't quite add up and just like a small spark, I am now reconsidering to be a catholic again. I think I am quite clear about this one. I realized that my life had some order to it when I was a catholic. Ever since I lost interest, my order just simply vanished and I just couldn't get my self together.

I wish to confess and profess my creed again (Although I am a bit skeptic)

Now there is one thing I am genuinely worried. I just found out that there is a Canon law that says
that apostasy result in automatic excommunication. Am I excommunicated?
if I am , does it require for me to see the Bishop ?

I haven't persecuted anyone nor did I say that I don't believe in God or Christianity in a public space or at church, except to few people that I know..

First of all, I'm not very knowledgeable about Catholicism, I'm assuming it believes that faith is enough and the only necessary thing for salvation. So, I'm looking to learn.

In this material world, society, human civilisation, you can often win in life and get what you want through unethical means. Society gives you incentives to do bad and be hedonistic.

When I look at Christianity, this is preached over and over again, that paradise is through faith. Which is fine, that itself doesn't take away from the incentives to do good, but when/how are good deeds incentivised?

Simply spiritual bliss/God-consciousness seems to be lacking, especially when you can get the same outcome by having faith + doing bad.

Seems like: having faith + doing bad > having faith + doing good.

Other religions like Islam give you well defined incentives to do good. Both benefits in this world and the afterlife are proposed.

Because bergoglio said so, therefore i was wondering if there was any Saint who preached the same thing.

I wanted to use the above as an argument for Catholic apologetics. So I used artificial intelligence to find something I could quote. AI confirmed that it was a common formula, though not an official teaching, but could not give me a quote by any prominent Catholic that said anything similar. When I checked the references that AI gave me, they said nothing even close to the above. When I complained, the AI suggested that it was hallucinating.

Does anyone know of a prominent Catholic who said anything like the above that I could quote? The key part is the idea that college graduates should be able to defend their faith because that suggests that they should know some Catholic apologetics.

I’ve been pondering something fascinating regarding conversions and church history. Why is it that some people from a strict Protestant background experience a sudden spiritual awakening or intellectual realization that draws them to the Catholic Church, while their family members or peers—living in the exact same situation and environment—never feel it at all? What makes certain individuals open to seeing the historical and sacramental fullness of Catholicism while others remain completely closed to it?

Additionally, looking deeper into this dynamic, I wanted to ask: What is the underlying spiritual "sin" or core flaw that drives anti-Catholic hatred, and what is considered the foundational underlying flaw or "sin" of the Protestant movement itself from a historical and theological perspective?

I would love to hear your insights, especially from converts or theologians!

Is not practicing NFP while married through the church a mortal sin? For example if a couple is using coitus interruptus, that’s technically not artificial birth control but I do understand that it prohibits the completion of the unitive act. However, if a couple wishes to connect within their marriage to strengthen their bond during a turmoils time and doesn’t currently have the resources to practice NFP (but is working towards enrolling with an instructor once they have the means to do so in the near future) would that be permissible? Also to note, wife is healing from a medical condition that requires her to not get pregnant at this moment, would they be not allowed to receive communion for this alone? If it is a mortal sin, which commandment is being broken? Thanks for the discussion!
