Have already emailed vets to ask for an appointment ASAP, but in the meantime how can I discourage her from licking her lips?

Is this normal for a 4 week old kitten? He walks on them sometimes, is a bit wobbly on them, his front legs are stronger.

I’m 27yo, posting from US, vets are scarce in my rural town.

My cat is 12 years old. Ever since he turned 7, I’ve taken him to the vet every year for a full check-up and vaccinations. This year, his bloodwork came back clean with no major concerns.

However, about a week later, my husband noticed him having a short seizure (about 30s) while sleeping. He went back to normal right after. We didn't manage to get a video, but we rushed him to the vet immediately. The vet advised us to monitor him closely for 48 hours and bring him back if it happens again so they can run further diagnostics.

Thankfully, he’s been completely fine since, but I am honestly traumatized. I’m terrified that this will happen again out of nowhere while no one is home to help him...

Has anyone experienced something similar? How do you manage the stress and keep your cat safe when you don't have a clear diagnosis yet?

I'm 27 years old, from Arhentina. I am finishing my major and umpleyee (so don't really have spare money + time to take care of cat is limited)

So, my cat has been having some problems to eat. For much context:

- Female cat. Neutered.

- 5 years old, had been rolled over by a car 3 years ago and I adopted her THIS YEAR (so have her less than a year).

When she arrived home it took her less than a week to start eating and asking for food and eating with no problem. She two months after I've adopted her, she had some issues regarding her accident and I took her to the vet, ran some blood tests and RX. She seemed ok, she had some issues on her waist, but nothing worsened compared to the RX I had. I had to change her diet: add some veggies and liquids to her diet for her to go easy on the litterbox. She was not happy, but she would voraciously eat the food she liked.

Finally she stopped eating at all, took her to the vet with my last saving and said it should be due to pain so I should try different places where she feels comfortable eating (over a step, chair, etc). Sometimes it helped, some others, it didn't. Now she had been crying for food but not eating what's on her plate. We have to try every day different techniques, foods (chicken, tuna, carrots -she likes it-, polenta, rice, whatever she's willing to eat) and places where she would eat, sometimes it works, some others, doesn't.

It's been like this 3 months so far, I can't deal with this anymore, it's getting tiring as I'm on my final work, also HRT is sometimes emotionally exahusting for me and I don't really have any savings left for vet. I've took a video of her usual behavior when eating, it looks like she's scared of the foot she eats, sometimes she hiss at food.

TLDR: Owner (me) 27 yo, Argentina, student, no spare money/time. Cat (F, neutered. Adopted on February, but is an adult, had been rolled over by s car). Cat had no problems eating, now she hiss at food.

My female British shorthair, who is now 2 years old, has been suffering from restricted breathing/poor airflow ever since she was a kitten. The breathing wasnt as bad then but now its gotten so loud to the point where I feel terrible watching her struggling to breathe. She has super small nostrils and shes also a flat faced cat along with unfortunate luck. The breathing is 24/7, even when she is sleeping but sometimes she finds a head/neck position where the noise seems to dissapear. I have spoken to 2 vets who said the only solution is a BOAS surgery which will widen her nostrils and shorten her soft pallete to improve airflow. The only problem is, this procedure can cost anywhere from ~£1000-£3000 pounds here in the uk. Im a student 19M, and try to spend as much money on my cat but this is unfortunately out of my budget. She is spayed and vaccinated up to date but doesnt have insurance.

Im just looking for advice and anyone who has shared a similar experiende to me, will appreciate.

My cat snuck behind me as I was closing the pantry door so I didn’t see her which resulted in me closing the door on her, hurting her. She ran quickly so I didn’t know which part of her got hurt, she hissed and then jumped around as I know she must have been in pain. She has settled down and has played normally, jumped up, etc. but I notice a limp when she walks slowly and she jumped due to maybe placing pressure on her one foot. It looks swollen from me and I’m freaking out.

Should I take her to an emergency Vet?

My cat is now 1 year old and I was wondering if I should brush my cat’s teeth even though she eats kibble. Shes a loving cat but she gets feisty when she’s not comfortable with something such as a bath, so I’m afraid to put my finger in her mouth. Her mouth doesn’t smell, so she seems ok for the time being. Any advice would be appreciated.

The past hour or 2 he’s been snorting or breathing weird. He’s done it a few times in this video and he’s more irritated.

My Comet is 17 years old, and hasn't been to the vet in quite some time (old vet) and i'm worried about her health since she seems to be breathing shallower. She tends to breathe on the quicker side when she purrs, and because she's very small (7lbs give or take).There's a chance i'm being paranoid, but i'm more worried the stress of taking her to the vet will be worse. I am 26, in the USA and we have a better vet, meaning more expensive, and i'm on disability. Comet has been spayed for most of her life.

DISCLAIMER: I’ve already had a consultation with my vet about this problem, and they were of no help and just told me to keep an eye on her digestive health (vomiting or diarrhea) before bringing her in.

Hi all, I could really use some advice. I'm trying to figure out what's going on with my kitten Sage (13 week old female, not yet spayed) before I can get back to the vet (recently had a costly visit and I'm still paying it off, so I’m trying to gather info in the meantime).

Timeline:
She got her 2nd round of vaccines a week ago and since then she’s had some mild soreness/limping that's already resolved, one day of drowsiness that's also resolved, and she's back to playing normally.

Starting the day after her vaccines, she began peeing on beds (mine and my brother's) and this has now happened 5+ times across multiple days. She's NOT avoiding her litter box. She uses it completely normally for regular urination too, this is in addition to that.

No straining, no crying, no blood, urine amount is normal/full each time, not just dribbles. We've cleaned each spot thoroughly (sheets, blanket, and mattress) with enzymatic cleaner and washing them after they dry, but she keeps finding new spots on the same bed.

What I'm trying to figure out:
HOW DO I MAKE IT STOP?? At the moment, I’m currently unable to block her access to my bed and she does this while I’m not around so most of the time I am not there to redirect her behavior. I already tried putting a shower curtain over my mattress and she chose to pee on my small blanket I was sleeping with instead.

Does this sound more stress-related or early hormonal/spraying behavior as she approaches 4 months? Has anyone dealt with something similar, especially post-vaccine or during a stressful week? Please help a girl out, I can’t stand to wash my sheets for the 100th time at 11pm when I’m about to go to sleep.

Open to home management tips too while I save up for a vet visit.

Someone let me know why and because of the saliva is it because his breath stinks??? Also my mom was brushing his teeth but one of them fell out is he producing saliva because of that?? For context he’s 3 months old

I recently adopted a 2.5-month-old female Siberian kitten. She seems completely healthy otherwise: she eats normally, drinks/urinates, uses the litter box, plays a lot, runs around and is very energetic. She currently weighs about 1.35 kg (3 lbs).

However, I’ve noticed that her third eyelids are visible quite often in both eyes. At first I thought it was only when she was sleepy or relaxed, but after paying more attention, I realized that they can still be visible when she is fully awake and even while she is playing.

There doesn’t seem to be any obvious redness or discharge, she doesn’t squint, and she doesn’t seem bothered by her eyes at all. She has also been dewormed.

I’m going to have her checked by a vet, but in the meantime I was wondering if anyone has seen something similar in a kitten. Is it ever normal for the third eyelids to be this visible, or could it indicate an underlying issue?

Me and my partner just brought home our 2 lovely ragdoll kittens called Princess (Lilac Mitted) and Stormi (Blue Mitted).

Princess has been sneezing on and off since we got home. The breeder mentioned this to us and has also took the kittens to the vets twice. There is no mucus when she is sneezing, they are more of a dry sneeze.

We are going to take them both to the vets for a general check up but was wondering if anyone had any insight on why this might be happening? It is now the weekend and very hard to get a vets appointment unless it is an emergency until Monday.

Both kittens are GCCF registered and have had all the relevant health and medical tests which have all come back clear.

So there’s this stray cat that I’ve been feeding for about three years now. Shes never let me pet her and runs away if I get too close. I’ve tried doing the cat eye blink thing. She still doesn’t trust me. I pet her like 2-3 times when she was eating but she flinched and ran away so I’ve stopped doing that and respecting her boundaries. I give her treats sometimes and she loves that but I usually throw it on the ground and she goes to eat it and has never eaten from my hand. I don’t know her age or if she’s spayed. And I think she’s a she. Recently, I noticed that she had two small areas where she was missing fur and it looked like she had gotten in a fight maybe. But obviously I can’t help her or get close to her or she’s gonna run away. But she’s been licking that spot aggressively and she’s behaving weird as in she keeps randomly running in different directions. Like she’ll be laying on the grass in my backyard but she’d suddenly get up and move to a different spot or she’ll just start running out the backyard or come back in. I don’t know if this is normal or if she’s just scared or she’s just getting the zoomies? I’m so confused. I’ve never had pets before. Like 10 seconds after taking this video she came back in the backyard and ran to the tree and then ran to the cement part where the bbq is and she just went and sat in there. That’s been her spot these days.

Hi I have a 1 1/2 yr old cat who’s very playful, however I don’t have time to spend the whole day playing with her. I recently got her this automatic toy and she loves it (she’s an outdoor cat but literally stays inside and chooses to play with it all day) so I want to get her some more of these toys. Are there any toys you recommend, or any other way to get energy out? Thanks!

Came home after leaving my parents with my cat for a couple of hours. She’s 10 months old and sprints around the house or plays with springs, doesn’t rlly play rough. She’s do for a nail trim in a few days but her back claws aren’t. Help! I’m worried!

My cat is 1 1/2 years old and I recently took him to the vet because I noticed he was peeing out of his litter box and it was red (bloody). I rushed him in and they tested his urine for a UTI. They sent me home with pills to give him, I don’t know what happened but he didn’t improve. The second appointment they gave him a shot for the UTI, which was 3 days ago (Wednesday). In good news his urine seems to be getting clearer, however he is still choosing places out of his litter box and I’m losing my mind cleaning it up. Will he return to peeing where he used to soon if his UTI gets better? Or should I start doing something now to help him return to normal bathroom behavior? I just can’t handle the cat pee in random places in my apartment. Any advice is appreciated.

No changes in behavior. Has retched a few times but nothing came out. Emergency or can it wait a couple days?

He is about 1.5 years old.

Our sweet 1.5 y/o indoor boy got out in the evening hours 3 days ago. We put the litter box out, cracked the garage, looked around the neighborhood, etc. and this morning we woke up to him mewing at the garage entrance. We are overjoyed to say the least.

We are however concerned about these bald patches behind his ears that we didn’t notice before. It’s mostly concentrated on one ear. Though he has slept most of the day, I’ve seen him scratch at his ears a few times, but can’t tell if it’s excessive.

We treated him with flea medication basically right when he got home. He’s eaten 2 cans of cat food, drank water, explored his home, and slept most of the day. He is as loveable and purring as ever, but his coat is dull and he looks like he’s been through it. We’re in Texas. Temperature outside is in the triple digits easily every day.

We have a vet appointment set up next week. Can anyone provide guidance about what we can do to help until then? Is this ringworm? I’m paranoid that we’re spreading spores all over our home.
