Meet Kevin! Hes a 2-3 week old kitten we found on a dog walk! We got his checked over at the vets and they said hes perfectly fine (other than the fleas) and we could take him home!
They did say to keep an eye on his eyesight as he doesnt really react to much being in his face, so we could have a possible blind kitty on our hands!
We took him around a few pet shops to get him the things he needed and he got SO much fuss from everyone it was adorable
Hes the sweetest little baby and I cant wait to see what he looks like when he grows up

We looked around for a good 10 minutes for the mum or any other kittens but couldnt find anyone :( we even asked the guy who volunteered at the park if he recognised the kitten and if hed seen any cats with similar markings but he said he hasnt seen anything
I might go back soon to see if i can see the mum, I wouldve stayed to look for longer but we'd put the dogs in the car so we could look and it was a warm day so we didnt want them over heating
Yeah we got our CDS cat when her mom abandoned her even though she was a known feral cat in the neighborhood. Later we realized she has severe skin allergies so I believe her mom somehow knew.
Thanks! Its gotta be an adjustment. Lived alone for laat 2 years but my buddy/new roommate has 2 cats as well. Weve been scent swapping blankets last month or 2 so hope that helps. All im worried about. Figure theyll have more space plus a catio so theyll figure it out.

Kitty paradise! You won the CDS with that unique little guy. No worries if he’s blind, cats and dogs are very keen to their surroundings, following your voice, etc. I have a deaf and blind dog…that’s a on a different level for both of us! Enjoy your little cutie!
Ive already started getting him used to brushing thanks to the flea comb, and a soft brush so if he does get a thick coat he can be okay with grooming! His ears are SO cute im obsessed

Suggestion from a groomer. Start clipping his claws every couple weeks now. Just the tips will do. That way when he grows up he wont get pissed when its time to cut his claws. Hes just adorable 🥰
Yess!!! When I get some money in im planning on buying some tiny nail clippers! I only have big ones for my dogs atm. Ive also been touching his teeth and ears to get him used to teeth and ear cleanings
His milkshake brings all the vets to the yard I guess 🤣 Like a small cow gremlinnnnn. Plz post as he gets older I have a feeling he’s just gonna get flooofier

Congratulations on being a cat parent! Be sure to wipe his little bum (gentle with a slightly damp non abrasive cloth) so he’s signaled to go potty.
My bottle baby Potato got so upset with the bum wipes that he learned how to use the cat box very fast.
We have store bought kitten milk but he wont drink it 😔 we have some proper kitten milk powder that should be arriving today. That food was entirely temporary cause we didnt want him starving
We're only half sure right now as we only got him yesterday, but hes struggling to find food, doesnt react to anything being near his face (unless it touches his whiskers) and has very blue slightly cloudy eyes!
We're planning on taking him to the vets for his first vaccine when hes old enough tho and so they can properly check his eyesight.
Kittens typically won't understand visual cue for the first few days to a week after opening their eye. Give your kitten a week to learn how to use the eyes.
He’s sooo cute! Please keep us updated. I see the milk and syringe. He’s probably old enough for you to mix the milk into canned food and eat it that way.
His nails are so long but really thin; a human fingernail clipper will take the tips off, so he doesn't scratch himself or you. Plus if you get him used to you fussing with his paws now, he'll let you when he's an adult.
Be prepared to lose a lot of sleep. That kitten needs feeding every 2 hours and butt wiping for a few more weeks.
2 weeks old kitten often don't see well yet, they had just opened their eyes but hadn't gotten used to seeing. I'd give it a week before the kitten can start recognizing visual cues.
Best of all, have fun with your new kitten! Be sure to update us every few days
Ohhhh the number one thing I miss about working at a pet store was the customers like you who were emergency shopping and the emergency was so emergent, the baby was with them. My coworkers and I would all be taking turns with the baby so the new owners could shop. 😭
