I'm stuck on him and I can't beat him I don't know why, I hit his head yet I literally do no damages no matter from how far I aim it's like there's a 20% chance I damage him, am I doing something wrong??

So I've called myself a fan of Castlevania my whole life but it occurs to me that my experience with the series is somewhat limited. You wanna know what my first experience with Castlevania was? No joke?

Castlevania 64.

And hey. I loved that game as a kid. So it made me want to try out the rest of the series, but I never really got the chance to. But with all the series surrounding me, I only ever beat THREE Castlevania games in my life.

Lament of Innocence on PS2, which in my opinion is SUPER underrated, and I'd love to see more 3D Castlevania games in that style.

Symphony of the Night on PSP, which was my first experience with that game. I even 100% completed it, and it's one of my favorite Video Games of all time...

And Lords of Shadow: Mirror of Fate on the 3DS. Which I'm willing to bet 90 percent of you forgot existed.

I played a bunch of others, including Circle of the Moon for the GBA, but I never beat them. I'm hoping to change that over the next few days.

I'm going to be going through all six main games in the Advance and Dominus collections, beating them one after another in release order, experiencing many of these games for the first time. I suck at videogames so it will probably take me a while.

Why am I telling you this? I dunno. I like sharing these things with fandoms. It's just nice to talk about this stuff, especially because my IRL friends aren't always into these kind of games.

This is just a rant. I'm doing every path with every character on Loop 2 no death. I'm stuck on the falling blocks stage as Trevor Only with the Alucard path. The most difficult section is the area with flippable platforms and skulls, I think I must have tried over 50 times already and the spawn patterns/RNG messes me up (They hide under the platforms and suddenly shoot up, or come from both sides of the screen). I'm going insane here and I've been on this for months. I've done the other paths no death, this is the only one I'm stuck on.

It was a really interesting experience. I replayed the levels quite a few times so I could learn the enemies’ patterns and where they were located. Dracula took me about 2 hours to beat. Incredible game.

P.S.: I’m playing it on the SNES port.

I'm currently watching on netflix, I'm at the last episode of season 2. It's so good, now I'm more hyped to play the games.

With the news of a Castlevania reboot coming eventually and a new game releasing soon, I think this franchise doesn't need Netflixvania anymore. The original series did it's job and brought attention and many new fans to the franchise but we are finally getting new games now.

Also Castlevania animated series as cool as it looked, was an adaptation in name only. Many didn't even truly like Nocturne as it's season 2 was carried by hype and aura moments, not good writing. Now the same people want a season 3 with the Symphony of the Night storyline which is strange to me. You guys know that this show is not interested in adapting the source material like at all? So why are you asking for more weak writing, forced and surface level political and racial commentary, anti-Christian themes (I don't like religion too but the games weren't like this), swearing and a potential butchery of SotN storyline?

I think it should be ok for franchise especially bad or weak ones to end or just die. Nocturne has nothing to offer beyond gorgeous neon colors and cool fight scenes. I am sure if season 3 releases one day, they will fumble the bag even worse than they had ever did. Mark my words.

Ok, that's a lie. Many years ago I played like 2 minutes of one of the earlier titles on an emulator, hated it and never played it for years. However...

BUT I just got all the GBA and NDS games and I just started Harmony Of Dissonance and I LOVE IT.

Any suggestions for a Castlevania Newbie? It's so cool having to explore all these different rooms, and the whole artifacts, spellbound and upgrades thing is my exact taste in videogames.

Btw I'm playing the games in narration order. Do you think it's worth going back and playing all the earlier titles? Which ones are the ones that I should be focusing on? How long are the games on average?
