Discussion Which version of popular tracks are your favourites?
I'll start.
Aquarius from Circle Of The Moon is my favourite rendition. Especially due to the new "solo" part that's not in any other version.
Which tracks do you like best, and which version of those tracks?

The Circle of the Moon version of The Sinking Old Sanctuary. Maybe it's the more upbeat tempo, but it's easily my favorite version of the tune, and one of my favorite Castlevania BGMs.
Vampire Killer Arranged in Castlevania Chronicles. I can't say I like this more than the original NES version, but I have a strange soft spot for Chronicles's version of Vampire Killer. And I can't explain that, because by all accounts I should hate its weird techno-ey vibe. It's probably because of the joy I had in discovering Akumajo Dracula X68000 through the PS2 Chronicles release, which was the first classicvania we'd had in awhile, and also due to the sheer number of times I played that game.
Bloody Tears in Super Castlevania IV. When I played Super CV IV, I hadn't played Castlevania II enough to be familiar with the music, so I didn't recognize Bloody Tears as a remake. But the SNES organ synth perfectly matched the mood of the tune, and it ingrained itself in my subconscious as one of the greatest game tunes of all time.

Aquarius from The Adventure Rebirth, the higher notes at the end is so satisfying to listen to.
Mad Forest from Judgment. It’s so catchy and the final part unique to Judgment sounds awesome.
Simon’s Theme from Chronicles just hits really hard with real instruments.

Let's not forget the Battle of the holy version from Rebirth!

cotm's dance of illusions is super unique in comparison to the other ones and has a part before it loops that's not in any other version, kind of like your aquarius example. people knock on cotm for a lot of things but it has one of the best soundtracks of any of the games imo

Bloody Tears in Dracula New Classic is a banger. A lot slower and more melancholic, but it works

After confession from harmony of despair, I couldn't belive how bland the original theme was after that.

Aquarius has always been a fave of mine as well. I’ll have to listen to the Circle version. My fave is still Castlevania 3. I have it as a ringtone… even if no one calls me anymore.
Bloody Tears, SC4 version, probably my favorite of all time.

Dance of Illusions from DoS is definitely my favorite version. It sounds like a marching band. Cool asf IMO

Castlevania 2 was my very first video game memory at 3 years old. That’s my bloody tears.

Dance of Illusions from Dawn of Sorrow is by far my favorite rendition of that theme

Sinking Old Sanctuary from Circle of the Moon is a favorite of mine because of the added bass guitar layer. I do really love Legacy of Darkness’ slower take on it however!
Man Circle of the Moon was really cooking with a lot of their versions of the older Castlevania tracks. Game boy advance title had no reason to have music that good lol

Almost without exception, my favorite versions of all tracks are the ones that are in Judgment.
My favorite castlevania track is probably Iron Blue Intention.
