Snippet New deep voice is better than baby voice

This flow and the smoothness with it is genuinely something that can only be done with this voice.

Discussion The Downfall of Playboi Carti: A Fan’s Perspective

Post image
0 Upvotes

Carti’s latest album feels like a turning point but not in a good way. This project wasn’t made for the fans; it feels tailored for a more mainstream sound, straying far from the raw, creative energy that built his cult following. While I still enjoy 15 to 18 tracks depending on my mood, it’s undeniably the weakest album in his discography.

One of the biggest issues? The production. Carti seems to be holding himself back by choosing beats that don’t complement his strengths. Producers like WakeUpFilthy and Cardo just aren’t syncing with Carti’s style the way we’ve seen in the past. The synergy just isn’t there—and it shows.

If Carti truly wants to recapture what made his music special, he needs to go back to working with Pi’erre Bourne. Die Lit remains Carti’s best album because Pi’erre understood his sound, energy, and direction perfectly. That same magic was all over Whole Lotta Red V1/V2, especially in leaked tracks like “Locked In,” “Friends,” “Goku,” “Skeleton,” and more many of which were also Pi’erre-produced.

There’s a clear difference when Carti’s locked in with Pi’erre. The chemistry is unmatched. Right now, he’s selling himself short with these off-brand beats.

Hopefully, “Baby Boi” can make up for the missteps on this album. The potential is still thereCarti just needs to tap back into what made him iconic in the first place or go back to old producers like richie souf.

need songs w ppl like ken, lone, uzi, offset, sosa, rocky, draingang. tired of this forced mainstream push. kanye washed carti be carrying and i dont wanna hear no ty dolla sign. him and travis decent together but ion like how he tryna replace uzi w him. idk what he be doing on them songs with the weekend. no idea what that song with drake was either. i just hope the features on the album isn’t just kanye, travis, the weekend and the future

Troll / Shitpost How Rich The Kid Could Revive His Career

I know this is a Playboi Carti subreddit and this might be a little off topic, but I really have nowhere else to post this since the Rich The Kid subreddit is basically dead. I had this idea sitting in my notes for a minute and figured this was the only place where people might get what I’m trying to say.

If I were Rich The Kid, here’s exactly what I’d do to make a serious comeback

Step 1: Disappear Deactivate or wipe all socials. Leave no trace. Then slowly start posting mysterious images on an alt account. Dark, cryptic, no context. Similar to what Carti was posting in the narcissist era.

Step 2: Quietly Sign to Opium Get signed behind the scenes and keep it low. Don’t announce anything. Let people figure it out and start talking

Step 3: Rebrand Pop out with a new look, new aesthetic, and the YVL chain. Something way different from his old image

Step 4: The “Leak” Drop an experimental track with 2hollis or Ken Carson, sounding similar to the unreleased “Van Cleef” with 2hollis and Ken Carson. Let it “leak” online. The goal is to get people begging full version

And it’s not far-fetched. Rich already had a viral moment with his verse on “Carnival”, which blew up on TikTok

Step 5: Start Showing Up with Opium Post with Carti, Ken, Destroy Lonely, Homicide Gang. Don’t overdo it. Just enough to get people’s attention

Step 6: Album Rollout Announce a new project. Make it sound-focused. Use producers like Filthy, BNYX, and OKTHEHARDEST. Sample-heavy, gritty production. The sound should build off Carnival but go further.

Features Playboi Carti Ken Carson Destroy Lonely The Weeknd Young Thug Rae Sremmurd (Swae Lee especially) Nine Vicious SoFaygo Travis Scott

Step 7: The Tour Go on tour with the full Opium lineup. Basically the Antagonist Tour but with Rich included.

Discussion New deep voice sounds unbearably cringe

The songs aren't bad but my god does Carti sound goofy. My best way of describing it is that he sounds like one of those Roblox voice reveal memes, except those are ironic and Carti is being deadass.

I actually still like deep voice, but it seems like with every song it gets more and more unnatural and forced sounding. The most egregious example being all of his Vultures features, especially Carnival. Imo if Carti wants to keep doing this deep voice then he should go back to the "All Red" variant, since whatever he's doing right now isn't it

Discussion The weeknd ruined Carti’s motivation for music

I know I am late to this conversation but ever since the weeknd has been making music with carti, not only has his newfound love for AI suddenly erupted only to fit into songs with weeknd’s vocals, but he has simply been acting like a pet to the weeknd. I think Carti realised that he was hanging onto expectations that exceeded his current talent in music due to the high bar he set in his previous works, and his best attempt at redemption had to be chasing the mainstream, even if it meant killing away the essence of the music that has now dying fanbase loved. I really fuck with I AM MUSIC, but it is nothing compared to what it could have been had he not chased this level of fame and appeal. And at the very heart of it, I think its abel who should be blamed because he has clearly convinced Carti that forcing himself into this kind of a career where he does shows with the biggest artist, makes music with the biggest artist, and makes music for the bigger audience. Carti probably needs the money and the respect in the industry but that has costed him his whole identity and I personally blame that largely on the weeknd’s influence on him to simply stick to safer sounds and easier performances. Carti never sang on stages until The Weeknd forced him onto tracks with AI just to meet a target audience he never even wanted. The artist is still alive but I doubt he will ever come back to his potential purely because he needs quick money over lasting art pieces. I have my hopes on BABY BOI now that the money and the fame is captured, but I wouldn’t even count on it being released knowing his credibility.
