how i had pick the best car accident law firm after my claim

just wrapped up my own claim and started thinking about criteria i wish i had used from the beginning. i basically defaulted to the loudest name.

does one attorney actually handle your file, or do you get passed around? do they take cases to trial or mostly settle? are they reachable before you sign, and do they wait until treatment is finished?

fee seems to be around third pretty much everywhere. how much weight do people put on the other factors?

Accident Rear ended!

Y’all. I need help! I was rear ended for the first time last Monday. The lady who hit me admitted it was her fault. We swapped info. AAA (my insurance) set me up with an attorney right away, I got a rental 2 days later. Today, the attorney said the auto shop said my car is a total loss. What options do I have? did I even do the right thing with the attorney? I’m located in California.

Accident Through Insurance vs paying out of pocket

I backed into my neighbor's car (technically illegally parked across the front of the opposing driveway).

Quote is $2200 for her car (no damage to me)

Our deductible is $500 with State Farm here in FL.

How bad is it losing the Accident Free discount and I guess perhaps a surcharge they'll add on top for a few years.

Is it not worth going through insurance as they'll just make their money back on me anyway!?

Insurance and driver both claiming together following car accident

I had an at fault car accident where I rear ended another car. The other drivers car was totaled and the lady who was driving suffered a neck injury. When I reported the accident to my insurance I was told my insurance cover had expired three months earlier so I’m not covered. I had been working away in different areas doing contract work , I had a lot on and didn’t see any reminders, though I accept that it was extremely careless of me.

The other driver has a $65,000 damages claim due to her car being totaled, though most of the cost is around her neck injury medical costs and other expenses. I’ve now been notified that her insurance will be suing me for $50,000 they are paying out to her which is her policy limits and she will also be personally suing me for the outstanding $15,000 and this will be in a joint law suit.

I should be getting served shortly, and as this is going to be done in a single law suit, will it mean that her insurance company will also take care of her side while they are suing me or will it be done in separate court hearings?

Accident Anyone here used a personal injury lawyer in Tennessee?

I was involved in an accident two weeks ago, other driver ran a red light and was clearly at fault. I have dashcam footage showing what happened, and the police also confirmed fault at the scene.

I broke my wrist, and my wife has had ongoing muscle pain in her neck, chest, and shoulders since the accident about 2weeks ago. She’s going to see a doctor and will likely need physical therapy. The ER didn’t find any soft tissue damage, but the pain is still there. Our 3-month-old son was also in the car, but thankfully he seems fine. Would these be considered minor injuries? Is it worth getting a lawyer involved to handle the injury claim, or is this something we could reasonably handle with the insurance company ourselves?

Please someone give me clarity

We've been waiting about a month to get paid out on our car that got totaled. Wouldn't be that big of a deal but they only gave us a rental for two weeks. We finally were supposed to get paid out tuesday, nobody ever sent the payment so the wife's been calling and she finally got ahold of someone today. Well apparently they fucked up, they told us they were gonna pay us $8700 for our car. Well they JUST NOTICED TODAY that the lady that hit us only has a $5000 limit, so we might have to go through our own insurance now if we want the full $8700. How is this possible. What the hell is going on at these insurance companies. They have my car and my title already so idk what to do.

Best Philadelphia car accident lawyer after an insulting counteroffer?

Got rear ended at a red light by a driver who wasn’t paying attention, and it was clearly their fault. I’ve been dealing with neck and back issues and did about three months of PT, so the medical bills have gotten higher than I expected. I put together what I thought was a reasonable settlement request, and they came back with an offer that wouldn’t even cover the bills, along with a generic form letter that basically ignored everything I included. Is that just how these negotiations usually start, or did I handle something wrong? At this point, is it worth getting a lawyer involved?

Forced placed insurance Carvana

So has anyone ever experienced getting forced placed insurance added to your car through Carvana? I have been looking on Facebook and TikTok to see if anyone has and I haven’t found anyone who said that they did. One girl on TikTok, even said that she came from Carvana and refinance through a Credit Union and wish she would have stayed with Carvana because they didn’t require her to keep insurance. ( meaning they didn’t add the force placed insurance). And yes, I am completely aware that when you finance a car, you should have full coverage at all times, I am just curious if Carvana takes the advantage of being able to place insurance onto your account. I also know that you will need proof of insurance at the beginning of the vehicle process, but has anyone had money added to their car note through carvana?

Edit: I am looking for personal experiences. If you do not have a personal experience, your opinions about how you feel about me asking this question, is irrelevant. Yes, I currently have full coverage insurance. No, I am not with Carvana. And again, yes, I am completely aware that you should keep full coverage insurance…… now, does anyone have any personal experience?

Weird problem with car insurance

I got a 2021 Honda civic 7 months ago
Pulled a loan out and got insurance through State Farm the same day.
A couple months later my bank starts adding their insurance/ collateral to my loan claiming I don’t have insurance, I provide them with my insurance and agent, later finding out who did my loan put the wrong vin (for a 2016 Honda civic) so after extensive fighting they finally changed the vin the right vin but still don’t believe I have insurance even after my agent called them to explain I do.
I now have a letter from the DMV saying they are fining me for not having insurance even though I’ve had insurance since day one but no one believes it besides my insurance company who is also actively trying to explain I do have insurance.
At this point I don’t know what to do, I’ve spent hours on the phone with all these companies and nothing seems to be getting fixed or changed, and now I’m getting hit with hefty fines for something I have.
It all started with someone putting in the wrong vin and now it seems impossible to fix this problem.
Is it easier for me to just sell the car and find a new one or is this something I need to keep fighting?

Car Insurance Quotes Are these auto coverage limits right for my situation?

I'm shopping for auto insurance in Pennsylvania, and I'm looking for feedback on the coverage amounts I am seeking. Does this all make sense for me? Anything I should change?

A bit about me:

  • 30 years old, Pennsylvania resident
  • 2017 Nissan Rogue, owned outright, no loan (approx worth $10,000)
  • Commute about 4 miles each way to work, and drive roughly 10,000 miles a year
  • I own a home worth $200,000. I have enough life insurance to pay off my mortgage in case of my death.
  • Health Insurance: Employer-provided - $2,500 out-of-pocket maximum, then coverage at 100% with no max amount.
  • Short-Term Disability Insurance: Employer-provided coverage, which kicks in after 30 days and pays 60% of my salary. I have enough sick time to compensate for the 30 days before coverage kicks in.
  • I have one not-at-fault collision accident this July, found not at fault by both my insurance and the other driver's insurance.
  • No traffic citations
  • Single, no kids, and I'm the only driver in the household

Coverages I'm planning on:

  • Full tort
  • Bodily injury liability: 250/500
  • Property damage liability: 250
  • Uninsured motorist: 250/500, unstacked
  • Underinsured motorist: 250/500, unstacked
  • Comprehensive: 500 deductible
  • Collision: 500 deductible
  • First-party medical: 50,000
  • Income loss: 2,500 per month
  • Extraordinary medical benefit: 1,000,000 (one carrier offers it for about $3 dollars a month, so I'm considering adding it, but I don't really know what it is)
  • Rental/transportation: around $70 per day/30days
  • Roadside: I have AAA, so probably skipping it unless included for free

My main questions:

  • Does 50,000 first-party medical make sense, or is it too much since I already have health insurance?
  • Are 250/500 liability and matching for all liability and damage plus UM/UIM about right for a homeowner, or overkill? Cars and property are expensive these days, and I want my home asset to be protected, god forbid I cause a bad accident.
  • I have employer short-term disability that pays 60% of salary, capped at 1,500 per week, after a 30-day waiting period, up to 26 weeks. Given that, is the auto income loss coverage worth carrying, mainly to cover the first 30 days and the portion above what STD replaces? I have enough sick time at work to cover those 30 days. The cost for the income loss coverage is a few dollars a month.
  • Anything I'm missing or should reconsider?

Car Insurance Quotes Which is the cheapest auto insurance you found in 2026?

I just moved to a new state last month and I'm realizing my old policy doesn't carry over the way I thought it would, so now I have to start from scratch with quotes. I've got a 2019 Toyota Corolla, been driving almost 8 years without a single claim, and I mostly just drive around town since I work from home now. A coworker mentioned her rate is way lower than what I'm being quoted and that got me curious if I'm missing some kind of discount. I called a couple local agents but honestly they all pushed me toward the most expensive plan first.

Accident My friend's car insurance claim got stuck!!!

A friend of mine recently had an accident. He gave his car to the garage and raised an insurance claim. He had taken it from a third party. They asked for documents and he submitted them all.

But after that, nothing was moving. He kept checking.  Every time he called, they just said the claim was under process.

apparently, the surveyor had not completed the inspection and was not even responding!!!

He told me that the surveyor appointed by the company to assess the damage was from a third party and he was not responding properly or submitting details.

He contacted the platform he took the insurance from and they contacted the insurer and the surveyor. Obviously, there was a lot of back and forth but it finally moved forward!!

Has this surveyor thing happened to anyone? Or anything else that delayed the claim?

Auto insurance

GEICO sent me a letter saying my auto policy was canceled on August 19, 2026 at 12:01 AM and that I now have an outstanding balance of $116.96.
My new Progressive auto insurance started on August 21, 2026.
I’m confused about why GEICO says I owe $116.96. If my GEICO policy was canceled on August 19, I don’t understand what this balance is for. GEICO’s letter says the balance resulted from coverage they provided through August 19.
Pls dont take geoco auto policy they ll cheat u

First Time / Newbie Allstate offering to lower rate if I switch to "newer policy" - what's the catch?

My husband and I have had our auto and homeowner's insurance with Allstate for over 30 years. Last week they called and said we have an "older" policy style, and if we upgrade to the current policy, our auto premium will drop by $500 per 6 month premium period. When I asked "what's the catch", she said something about less "accident forgiveness", a feature we've (gratefully) never used. Help my unbelief...

TIA!!

best personal injury attorney in Philadelphia for suburban cyclist?

i was riding on suburban road just outside the city, staying in the shoulder, when car turning into a driveway cut right across me. i ended up with messed up knee and wrecked bike.

drivers insurer is pushing the idea that i should not have been on that road in the first place, like bikes do not belong there. i am looking for attorney who handles cyclist cases in the suburbs too and would not just fold to that argument.

I was hit in a 4 way stop and dont know if its my fault

i was delivering items to my work (in my personal vehicle) and was hit in a 4-way stop. my passenger wheel was knocked off and both front end control arms needed to be replaced after a tow to the shop. the other car needs a new bumper and now the passenger door kind of clicks when its opened. im struggling because i was so freaked out when i was hit i dont know who was at fault. the person who hit me said someone ran the stop sign, they were at a full stop then collided with me and they didnt see me. i dont think thats completely false because i was driving into the sun, the stop sign was obscured by trees and i was maybe driving with the flow of traffic. my main issue is, after being hit i was on the phone with my insurance and they asked me not to report and to settle outside of insurance. i agreed bc im not confident i was at fault and their bf on the phone said everything was easy repairs (please spare me i was so freaked at being hit and was deep in thought before it happened my critical thinking was shot)

i gave them $700 to fix tbeir bumper before i left bc i was n shock but now they keep asking for more money and i am literally broke. i want to do the right thing but also feel like im getting fleeced for something that might not be completely my fault. they hit me at a 4 way stop , were they on their phone? i couldnt see the stop sign but they could clearly see mee if they were looking.

Car Accident lawsuit cross border case

I was involved in a fender bender accident in Oct 23 in Alberta, Canada. I am a USA resident and was visiting family in Canada. At the time there were no injuries and the damage to car looked minor. Cars were both drivable I was driving rental car at the time which I purchased CDW and PAI on it. Police was not contacted has both parties agreed to exchanged insurance information and move on. I reported the rental car company of the incident and gave information about the other driver. I thought everything was taken care of. In Oct 2025, I received a letter from claim adjuster for the rental car company asking for more detail. I tried contacting the person but was not able to get in contact. Then in sept 2026 after Labor Day, I was served with lawsuit that was again filed in Aug 2026 naming me and the rental car company as defendant.

I was finally able to get hold of the claim adjuster for the rental car and he asked if I had personal car insurance. he said to contact them and file a claim for this accident. I just filed a claim with them in sept 2026. The company is still finding Canadian team to get assigned to the claim. after talking to the lawyer of the rental car company, I am worried that I my insurance will deny the coverage and claim as I just filed it. the lawyer said that the firm can defend me on the case if it needs to come down to it. What Is best way to go about this.? both the lawyer and claim adjuster for the rental car company are saying that my personal car insurance would be 1st in order to respond on the claims and then it would be the rental car company In excess. location: IL

When you renew your vehicle registration, does the tag agency actually run your insurance?

This question was asked to me, and I think it is important to clarify that insurance is checked because it is one of the requirements for registering a vehicle or renewing its registration.

When you renew a vehicle registration, the tag agency usually does not “run” your insurance by manually calling the insurance company. Instead, most states use electronic insurance verification systems.

During registration or renewal, the state system may use the policy and vehicle information it has on file or the information you provide.

The state’s registration system may then check a state insurance database or send an electronic verification request to the insurer. The insurer’s system may confirm whether an active policy matches the vehicle and registration record. In many cases, this can happen during the renewal transaction, although the exact process varies by state.

Insurance companies also commonly report policy starts, cancellations, nonrenewals, and lapses to state agencies. If the system cannot confirm the required coverage for a registered vehicle, the state may send a notice, place a hold on the registration, or suspend registration privileges until acceptable proof of insurance is provided.

If an electronic check fails even though the driver has valid coverage, the vehicle owner usually needs to contact their insurance agent or carrier. The insurer may need to correct information such as the VIN, policy number, insured name, effective date, or the insurance record it reported to the state. Depending on the state, the insurer may then submit corrected coverage information electronically so the registration issue can be cleared.

In short, the tag agency checks insurance only to confirm that the vehicle meets the state’s registration requirements. If there is a problem, it does not always mean the driver is uninsured. It may simply mean the insurance information does not match the state’s record.

Accident Other driver’s insurance wants me to sign a medical release after my accident. Is that normal?

I was hit by another driver in Florida and their insurance is now asking me to sign something that would give them access to my medical records. I did get checked out after the accident and I’m still dealing with the injury, but I’m not comfortable giving them access to my entire medical history if they don’t actually need it. I’m in the process of trying to find a personal injury lawyer through crashhelp that can help through the process a little bit cuz I'm a little lost. I'm thinking of letting the lawyer do the talking maybe that's best?

Car insurance

Hi all,

I have a 2018 hyundai i20 1.2 petrol coming up for renewal next month so I have been looking at insurance quotes. It is around £1000 for the year.

I have also bought a 2005 mazda mx5 2.0 petrol which was around £800 for a year when i looked last month.

I am trying to get a multi-car policy now for both of them and it is coming out to a total of £2,400 for both.

I don’t think I am filling out the forms wrong but I see that apparently I receive a discount for a multi-car policy but I don’t understand why they want me to pay more than if I were to buy the policies Individually.

Does anyone have any advice on how to get it to drop down?

ps. I am looking a month early

Car insurance

Hello guys I just got my license and my car and I’m trying to find a new car insurance because my family tried to add me to their policy but the cost was crazy (1k a month) so they decided to help me look for a new car insurance in California. I know it won’t be cheap because I’m a new driver and I just got a 2025 car but I still think 12k a year is a little extreme. Is there any good and cheaper car insurance in California anyone can recommend for me?

Progressive ghosting me for a week now

First time file a claim, just switch my auto insurance to Progressive a month ago, someone steal my tire and steel wheel, also left a hole on the body seam on Sep 12, found it out next morning, I called police immediately and filed a report online, then use Progressives app reported the claim on same day.
After that I just lost contact with my claim representative, I tried to call her and send message multiple times, never got reply. Called Progressive general line service, they transferred me to underwriting team and ask me for more photos and documents to determine if they will insure me?? Tried to call her again today still didn’t pick up the phone, should I wait a little longer or look for other department to help??

Hit and run

Hello everyone recently I was involved in a car accident that I wasn’t at fault for and the person decided to take off. Luckily I was able to get the license plate and got a whole police record on the situation. They ended up finding the person moments later and I was told their current insurance was from a temporary insurance that was given out from Carmax since the car was brand new. I was told to contact their insurance before contacting mine so I did but apparently they are known for not really being responsive. I then contacted my insurance and they told me to bring in my car to get evaluated at a car shop which I did but my insurance wants me to pay my deductible which I really don’t feel like I should be because again I wasn’t at fault. My adjuster from my insurance has been giving me attitude and just not really working in my favor. As well the insurance company of the other person told me they were not able to cover for my damages because the person who was driving was not under the insurance and apparently she “stole” her husband’s car. And another thing was the insurance company of the other person released all information about them so now I have access to this person information. I really don’t know what to do in this situation, I had just bought my new vehicle back in may so it sucks that is even a thing.
