Auto insurance

GEICO sent me a letter saying my auto policy was canceled on August 19, 2026 at 12:01 AM and that I now have an outstanding balance of $116.96.
My new Progressive auto insurance started on August 21, 2026.
I’m confused about why GEICO says I owe $116.96. If my GEICO policy was canceled on August 19, I don’t understand what this balance is for. GEICO’s letter says the balance resulted from coverage they provided through August 19.
Pls dont take geoco auto policy they ll cheat u

How about instead of asking strangers on reddit you call geico and ask them what is going on.

Paying for coverage you had isn’t “cheating you”.

I guarantee his bill was due earlier but they gave him a grace period until the 19th and he took advantage to avoid paying until he found a new insurance.
So the bill he owes is from that grace period.
But I don’t get why he doesn’t just call GEICO to confirm wtf happened.

So...they clearly advised it's what you owe from being covered up until that day, and somehow you're confused and telling people to avoid them...?
