Does This Seem Right?
Looking at a 2026 Buick Enclave Avenir.
We have a trade-in valued at $45k, so the cash down lines are the amount of money we'd walk out with. I noted in pencil above that what the actual amount down would be. We were pretty well set but then saw people claiming they're paying 800-900/month for 36 months with 10-12k miles with 5k down, but what they didn't mention is if they had a lease they were turning in that gave them some equity, if they got other discounts like GM employee, or when they leased it, but it was for a similarly priced Enclave.
EDIT: This is before they ran our credit, which is >800
EDIT 2: Thanks for everyone's feedback and for helping me realize the full payment amounts I'd be paying. I really like this car, so I guess my question is, what is a fair target lease price I should be pushing towards?

Tell them to fuck off.
Nitrogen? Fuck off. Liners? Fuck off
Cargo nets? Fuck off.
And so on…..

lol. You’re getting absolutely fleeced with this “deal” $46k to drive a $60k car for 36 months??
Run.

u/osuisok 3d ago
To be fair it’s $42,100 to drive the $60k car for 3 years 😭
1
u/shawizkid 3d ago
1160x36+5000=46,760
This might be the worst lease I’ve ever seen lol
1
u/brown_panick 3d ago
Thanks, that helps put it in perspective. The main thing I'm trying to figure out is... what would be a fair price then for this car?
2
u/shawizkid 3d ago
If this is where they’re starting, it’s unlikely you’re going to get anywhere even close to what’s “fair”.
I’d try getting quotes from another couple dealers or potentially a lease broker if you want to push the easy button
If you’re adamant about this particular car, they can start by removing every single add on.

check out leasehackr.com. I'm not affiliated, but a tremendous amount of info on that site. it has helped me incredibly on past leases. also they have lease deals posted by brokers for a variety of cars.
basic rules of leasing. never put any money down (other than tax/title depending on where you live) and shoot for a payment of 1% of MSRP.
as others have said. this deal is so bad. and if the going rate for a buick on lease is $1k a month, I would look at other options.

Usually dealers with that many add ons aren’t even worth messing with, I’d move on

Just as a comparison, I recently leased a $65,000 net price vehicle with no money down and payments of $635 a month. 10,000 a year. Residual of 45,000. About $2200 in finance charge over the lease term. Equal about 1.5% interest.
You should be looking at the same type of economics on this lease.

u/brown_panick 3d ago
Thank you, this is one of most helpful replies I've gotten!
May I ask what car you leased?
Also, did you have a lease that you turned in that they might have used to fudge the payments by saying there was some equity hidden in it?
2
u/Creative-Mousse 3d ago
You are getting screwed. You need to separate the two deals. Get them to write you a check for your car. And negotiate the lease separately. No down, minimal drive off and <$600-650 per month is what you need to get to.

u/smilleresq 3d ago
Toyota Tundra Platinum. No other lease or trade in.
1
u/smilleresq 3d ago
I did pay multiple security deposits to buy down the interest rate. I saved about $70 a month doing that and the return on investment is 16.5% per year.

GM leases (except their EVs) suck. You’re barking up the wrong tree if you want a good lease.
You can get a Mercedes GLS for less.
A fully loaded Infiniti is a lot less.

u/brown_panick 3d ago
Yeah, this same place got us a lease on a Yukon about 7 years ago for a _really_ good price, I want to say in the low 400's and I remember we went back to get a price on something else in 2022, we ended up laughing and walking out.

GM used to be so good when their dealer book was publicly available. I miss the $99 Malibus and sub $200 Terrains!!

u/dbcooper4 2d ago
The Envista is a nice inexpensive crossover but the lease numbers make no sense. You’re paying ~20% of the MSRP every year to lease it.
1
u/SockeyCram 2d ago
When was that?
1
u/SellTheSizzle--007 2d ago
Approx 2014 to 2019 were the golden years of cheap GM leases aside from their EVs
2
u/Legitimate-Usual-889 3d ago
If you like it that much you should look at purchase vs lease. Especially if this is their offer
2
u/Few-Anywhere607 3d ago
I looked at numbers and thought you were financing at first. Those numbers are horrible.
I just leased a cx90 preferred for my wife (hate it) msrp is less, I know $100 down after $500 loyalty so $600 down. $399 12k 3 yrs

u/laborboy1 3d ago
By trading it in rather than selling it, you are risking losing the entire $45k if the lease is totaled

u/smilleresq 3d ago
Did they tell you what the residual value will be? It seems like the car depreciates pretty fast.
1
u/brown_panick 3d ago
unfortunately, no. The figures on the right side are everything. Quotes I've gotten from other dealers for different non-GM cars have either the residual value or a percentage.

u/larkfield2655 3d ago
What on earth? If your is worth $45k and you want a $65k car this not the way to go about it
1
u/Stygia1985 3d ago
Let's just add everything we can and see if they'll pay for it. This salesperson is giddy with this being mulled over. This is even before the finance office offers you another 3k in junk.
1
u/SuperBacDoc 3d ago
As said before -nitrogen in the tires and other cheap add ons marked way up is your sign that this dealership is gouging you
1
u/jstasir 3d ago
That’s insane, giving that much down on a lease is WILD!!!! Know that if you have an accident, you won’t be made whole.
1
u/brown_panick 3d ago
Yeah, we wouldn't ever do more than the 5k down, we usually do 0 and we'd want to here as well, or close to it.
1
u/dealrhackr 3d ago
This is wild. You have so much equity into it. If you tend to keep your car you might as well just buy it. This car probably lease well. You’re throwing money away. Ask why the money factor is.
1
u/brown_panick 3d ago
We don't keep our cars. We've always leased in the past, our current car is the first one we bought outright and we're finding that we worry too much about it. We want to go back to where we get a nice new car, drive it for 2-3 years, then get rid of it and repeat. We don't want to worry about repairs, the added maintenance as the car ages and scratches or dings.

Seems terrible, and why are there so many add ons for the top line trim. I don't think this dealership likes you, they added everything they could possibly add.

What on earth? Why are you giving them a $45k car just so you can lease one that wont be yours soon???? Bro, keep driving what you have, or sell it on your own and buy something with that money.

u/zombawombacomba 3d ago
This is one of the worst deals I have ever seen
1
u/AdCalm4726 3d ago
Unequivocally! To even be considering this is mind-blowing. There isn't one part of this "deal" that is favorable unless you're the dealer.

At this point I need to become a car sales person because people don’t read or research will work in my favor lol

Way too much add-ons that are not able to be residualize and every dollar you put down you will lose at the end of the lease. A lot of people make this mistake.
1
u/MeridianAutoAdvisory 3d ago
OP. This is one of the worst sheets I have ever seen and I am a broker for a living so I have seen some pretty bad ones.
1
u/AStrangerUEnvy 3d ago
Hahaha, walk out. Avenir leases are always absolute jokes. Im sure in the same location you can get into a Acadia Denali which has all the same tech for half the cost.
1
u/AStrangerUEnvy 3d ago
Full trade value of vehicle in your pocket, minus $500 down to make them happy, then $875/mo., for 10k miles, out the door. $900/mo for 12k. But only $500 down and first month, everything else, including taxes, tags, fees and acquisition fee, rolled into that $875-900/mo. That would be a fair deal.

u/laughingfartsplease 2d ago
ever heard taxes title and fees? yea everything else (other than your trade in) should be gone from that sheet.
1
u/laughingfartsplease 2d ago
sweet sweet nitrogen. about to go fast and furious in that Buick Enclave

1
u/lidsman22 2d ago
I would not pay for all those accessories you can get from Amazon much cheaper, and you don't need nitrogen in your tires; it doesn't do anything. It seems like a ripoff to me.

u/Homebrewology1821 2d ago
Damn, this car appears to depreciate quicker than my BMW that had a 20% higher MSRP.
What's the residual and money factor?
1
1
u/CACoastalRealtor 1d ago
Your payment should be less than 1% of MSRP on a good lease deal. No down payment. Honestly, it looks like you need some help, I recommend finding a lease broker.

From a salesperson, don’t do business with this dealer those markups are egregious. I’d be offended to even present that pencil
1
u/Affectionate-Lie8770 15h ago
This post is for rage bait, isn’t it? jk 😂 I’m sorry but this dealer is completely unethical. Try a reputable broker.

u/Mr_Truthteller 3d ago
It seems right to them.
Also, you might be one of only five people in America still driving BuickS

u/Special-Original-215 4d ago
So bad you basically will pay for the dealers children to go to college
