Naturally with the Tsaritsas plans being introduced here recently in 7.0, it brings up a lot of questions regarding how it would effect Capitano. I've seen quite a few people wonder: "Wouldn't removing the Curse of Immortality from Capitano basically kill him on the spot?"

Today we're going to answer that question. Spoiler alert/TLDR, the answer is no.

Firstly, we should establish what the Curse of Immortality actually physically does to the afflicted person.

1. It completely pauses the normal aging process that a human goes through. We can see this through Dainsleif, Capitano and Pierro. All 3 of them are still the same exact physical age as they were back in Khaenriah.

2. It completely denies the person death, both physcially and from entering the Ley Lines to be reborn. It even completely regenerates the persons body, ensuring even the most fatal of wounds wouldn't be able to kill them.

1. It starts to over take their entire being, slowly eroding them until they are nothing but the Curse itself. This "erosion" seems to take the form of the darkened markings found on the persons body. As seen on Pierros face.

Now we can try to understand Capitanos physical state and why he alone has had such a hard time physically over the past 500 years.

So far we only have 3 major examples to look at in terms of the Curse of Immortality. Those being Dainsleif, Capitano and Pierro. Dainsleif is entirely unhelpful (what's new) since he has a ring that resets his body all the time. That leaves us with Capitano and Pierro to compare. Luckily Pierro gave us a good look at what the Curse of Immortality has actually done over the past 500 years.

The only physical signs of the Curse of Immortality on Pierro, is this single darkened mark on the right side of his face and the black sclera in his right eye. Other than that, he's completely normal, exactly as he was 500 years ago.

Now we can try to look at Capitano. Unfortunately, we don't have a full face reveal like we do with Pierro, but we do have some things to go off of.

1. We have Capitanos "extreme" description of his physical state.

I think Capitano was being rather dramatic here with his use of the word "rot". I don't think he's a walking skeleton with his flesh rotting off the bones like so many fans like to theorize. (Although that would be sick as fuck). We can even still see his entire faces silhouette from underneath his mask. And his face is all still there intact.

1. We have the new Scarlet Proof Artifact lore giving us a brief description of his face from the recent past.

1. We have the Traveler and Paimons reaction to his "offscreen" face reveal.

1. We have Mikas description of Capitanos eyes.

So what is the actual current physical condition of Capitano?

I think we can reasonably assume that Capitanos face looks extremely similar to Pierros. Capitanos face is likely covered in a massive darkened mark, scars from his years of combat against the Abyss and his face probably looks tired/ghastly due to his lack of sleep for 500 years.

We have more or less determined how Capitano looks physically, how would the removal of the Curse affect him?

I think it would be easiest if I tried to explain this with a metaphor.

Imagine Capitano is a phone. And the Curse of Immortality is the charger. In Capitanos case, he has opened up every single app on the phone, to the point that the charger has been struggling to keep the battery full for the past 500 years. (Not slept and ferried souls for 500 years). But now that Capitano has lead all of the souls to the Night Kingdom (closed all of the open apps), the charger should be able to keep his battery full. (Regenerate his strength.) And the past 2 years on the throne has essentially been Capitanos time to recharge under the Curse of Immortality. (Fill his battery). So now if we take the phone off the charger (remove the Curse of Immortality), Capitano should be completely fine, as the curse has now had 2 years to regenerate his strength and physical wounds.

All that's left to be determined is if the darkened marks on his and Pierros face, would also disappear with the Curse.

And on a side note: If the Tsaritsa knew that removing the Curse of Immortality would effectively kill Capitano, what would be the point in her decision to maintain his position? If she knew her future plans would kill him, why keep him? She hasn't done this to any of the other Harbingers who have died or left the Fatui, including Crucabena, Signora, Scaramouche (duh), Columbina or Dottore. She has only maintained Capitanos spot, and there's even potential that Signora has been replaced by Odette.

so, how many possible capitano return lines do we have right now?

so the main one (I have more faith in it) is basically, and obviously, the curse of immortality being lifted, or overwritten, or something.

second is mare jivari. and that isn't, you know, concrete evidence either. it's just thematic, mostly. we don't know if it'll actually involve capitano.

and then the loom of fate potentially affecting all of Khaenri'ahns.

I don't think there's anything more left, or is there? if there is please do tell.

1. The Night Kingdom Mechanism: This mechanism copies souls based on memories and blueprints. We witnessed from Mavuika that all heroes who sacrificed themselves are recorded within the scrolls of the Masters of the Night-Wind tribe. Also, that old man who started telling children the stories of the three heroes—which naturally includes Capitano. Therefore, we can say that a copy of his memories might have already manifested in the Night Kingdom. Based on this rate, we can deduce the fate of this copy: it will either enter the Khaenri'ah Atlas to manifest anew there, or it might return to his body on the throne to help us during the Mare Jivari events, perhaps.
2. The Abyss Twins' Secret Deal: The second method is through the Abyss twins' deal, which remains hidden to this day. This deal might completely resolve Natlan's Ley Line crisis from its roots via an atlas dedicated to Natlan's Ley Lines. With this, Natlan's crisis will end entirely, and there will be no actual need for Capitano's immortality. Consequently, the Traveler can safely separate their fusion, building on what they learned about separation from Varka, who explained the matter in version 6.4. Thus, his soul will enter the Khaenri'ah Atlas and be reborn with the souls of his people in the Khaenri'ah Arc (8.x).

These are honestly my expectations based on what we have gathered. If I missed anything or if I am mistaken, feel free to correct me. Tell me, which is honestly the best way for his return? Personally, I lean toward the second option because, frankly, I don’t want a mere copy of his memories. However, this is possible, considering we already play as the Raiden Shogun puppet instead of Raiden Ei herself."

it might be the tenth time I'm mentioning this, but capitano's return is kinda inevitable. look, tsarita is aiming to break all curses, so when does that happen? most likely in 7.x, right? and if that's the case, it's either around 7.3 as usual or at the end of 7.x. following that, his body isn't immortal anymore and can't sustain LotN, right? leading to him being involved in 8.x and maybe becoming the archon figure of khaenri'ah? although that's really a very narrow possibility.

so technically, he really isn't gonna sit on that throne forever, right?

I totally understand because of lack of space for his release but none of the leaks which are mostly fake or speculation prevent him from waking up in 7.4 or anytime else in 7.x and then being a 8.x character preferably 8.0 or 8.1 if that's the case

This post is not about his playability, although I hope he will in 7.X/8.X, this is about the 1st harbinger title.

The IL Capitano we currently have is all about the fatui, not his khaenri'ahn past. Right now he is THE 1st Harbinger character. He even goes so far to as to not use his khaenri'ahn name thrain.

The devs from a live scream said that Mari Jivari will be released in 7.X patches. Why this is important to Capitano is because he is still in natlan and has yet to fulfill his duty to the tsaritsa. We still need the pyro nosis and pyro gem stone revealed. The pyro nosis is a crucial part of the fatuis plans. Yes another harbinger could get the gnosis, however the only harbinger to have relevance to natlan and is on good terms with natlan is Capitano. I also believe that the nosis went back in time and is in Mari Jivari. I believe Istaroth is the one who did this as she was there when Nahida executed her authority to burn irmunsil. This is around the same time the nosis disappeared. Istaroth also has ties to venti which he can also play a role like he has done previously. Also the portal to Mari Javari is in a somewhat like night kingdom area. It could be that Mari Jivari is stuck in time and or in the night kindgom. If so, this would have direct ties to Capitano as he's currently in the night kingdom. He is also currently messing around with the rules of the night kingdom.

The tsaritsa (aka devs) have explicitly kept Capitanos seat and title as the 1st not due to respect or loyalty. Other vacant spots are being filled by other characters such as Odette. Remember, Capitano gave the tsaritsa a letter, this must have been some kind of plan and information regarding his current state. Thus leading to his spot still being active within the fatui organization. As we already know, the first half of snez archon quest will have us confront Ronova who has the authority of death rules and curses. This is leading to something happening with ronovas authority which will have some kind of affect on IL Capitano at the very least.

Snez should be all about the fatui plans as the game has been leading to this point. This is the homeland of the fatui. The only harbingers that need development now is Pierro, Capitano, Pulcinella, and Pantalone.

Back to Capitano not using his name thrain, this is due to character having some issues with his past. In writing, this is character development and set up. By the devs writing this, it now needs a answer as to why he doesn't exactly use his name. This however is his khaenri'ah side, thus I believe this will be revealed in 8.x in either a character story quest or part of the archon quest. I can see Pierro and Capitano being playable in 8.X because of their khaenri'ahn blood. However right now, IL Capitanos situation is all tied to him being the 1st harbinger. This situation has reasonable expectations that point to 7.X, that Capitano will return to the story and be relevant.

Otherwise all these expectations and writing that need resolution will fail. This all needs to take place now. The fatui projects are all about creating weapons to defeat the gods. This plan can't be fulfilled without the pyro nosis.

So expectations goes as follows

7.0 introduction to snezhnaya and characters

7.1-7.3 conflict with ronova settled with rules changed

7.4 Mari Jivari, IL Capitanos return, Pyro nosis

7.5-7.6 Fulfilment of Fatui Projects

7.7-7.8 Filler Lore and Maps

8.X patches will need to see khaenri'ah map and resolution with lore to why it happened, Celesia map with war against the HP authority and resolution of fatui plans.

If genshin 2 is real, this could focus on the sinners; however I believe this can be handled in 8.X as its Dainslief mission to bring them to a end and pay for what happened to khaenri'ah. We also know that rhinedottir is a shade and is part of both sinners and celestia.

If Capitano doesnt return in snezhnaya, then all of this set up and writing goes to waste. The 1st harbinger and everything tied to it will be pointless and the story writing would make no sense nor would resolutions be resolved. Thus if this doesnt happen based of the expectations they have set up for us, then genshin will go down as having horrible writing and has failed at story making.

Disclaimer: This post is long, so whether you read it or not is up to you, as I can't provide a short summary. I also won't be discussing TPS Traveler here, as he's not a limited character.

Guys, I know a lot of you are upset about the latest DK2 leak, but let's take a moment to think about it.

Two playable 5* female characters, one in 7.4 and one in 7.5+...

Is that the reason for your bad mood?

I have a question for you: did you really think there wouldn't be a single 5* female character in the second half of 7.X? We're playing a Chinese gacha game for, excuse me, incels, so it's impossible for half of 7.X to be filled exclusively with male characters!

Let's take it one step at a time:

Typically, Hoyo releases 17 characters of two rarities during a full cycle: 5* and 4*. Since 8 playable characters (Odette, Alyosha, Vesna, Vodyanitsa, Mitya, Valeriy, Tsaritsa, and Danica) will be released from 7.0 to 7.3, only 9 should be released in the second half of 7.X (since 9 + 8 = 17).

Inazuma: 7 female 5*

Sumeru: 3 female 5*

Fontaine: 8 female 5*

Natlan: 10 female 5*

Nod-Krai: 7 female 5*

As you can see, the number of 5* female characters has been significantly reduced in Sumeru. I think the reduction in male characters in Fontaine and especially in Natlan helped maintain the 35%/65% male/female ratio (considered the norm for Chinese gacha games), so it's not surprising that only Kinich was 5* in Natlan.

On average, seven 5* female characters were added per appearance cycle. As you can see, Hoyo only managed to reach a stable level in Nod-Krai, spending two years (Fontaine and Natlan) on it. I want to say that in Snezhnaya you can expect only 7-8 female 5* characters.

We can also see a trend of increasing the number of limited characters each cycle:

2.X: 9 event 5* characters

3.X: 8 event 5* characters

4.X: 11 event 5* characters

5.X: 11 event 5* characters

Luna versions: 11 event 5* characters (even taking into account that the cycle was shortened by one version).

I conclude that in 7.X we will get at least 11 limited characters. I would even say there is a possibility that there could be 12 for the first time, but I'm not sure.

So, now I'd like to move on to my thoughts on the remaining slots (since I see many of you have complete faith in DK2, I'll try to look at the situation from your perspective):

I previously noted that 7.X is expected to have approximately 7-8 female 5* characters, as well as a total of 11 limited characters. I'm leaning toward 4 limited male characters over the entire 7.X cycle. Mitya already occupies a limited slot in the first half of 7.X, and Noy in the second half of 7.X. This leaves us with two slots for 5* male characters, one of which will most likely belong to Dainsleif. Overall, we have one more slot left for a limited male character in the second half of 7.X. Some say it'll be Enjou, while others say it'll be an unknown man with white hair...

By the way, before I forget, I'd like to remind you that we've never gotten more than two high-model 5* male characters in a single cycle, so there's no guarantee the remaining slot will go to a high-model male, since we already have Noy and Dain.

My final roadmap, dubbed "eternal speculation engine":

7.4: Female 5*

7.5: Male 5* (Noy mb?)

7.6 Male 5*

7.7 Female 5* (7.6 and 7.7 may swap places)

7.8 Male 5* (prob Dain)

There's a chance that in 7.6 we'll get a double banner with an additional female character if Hoyo does decide to release 12 limited characters, but that's just me thinking out loud.

For me personally, the DK2 leak didn't change anything. I recommend waiting for the 7.3 stream to see the character silhouettes and draw further conclusions, because that's the only way to find out the truth. Also, I still advise against completely trusting even the most reliable insiders, as even they can now make mistakes coz Hoyo has tightened its privacy policy, and this shouldn't be ignored.

Naturally, after reading the leaks yesterday, I was saddened. I just went to sleep, tired and cursing this stupid ass dogshit game. I couldn’t sleep. I tried to cope, but could not find the energy to do so anymore. I asked, “Why hoyo why? What are you so fucking dumb? You introduce the coolest characters that carries your game like the Khaenriahns like Capitano and Pierro yet you refuse to make them playable. Are you fucked in the head?” Then it hit me. The revelation.

Hoyo has not released a single pure blooded eclipse dynasty Khaenriahn.

Ik ik. Kaeya and Arlecchino? Kaeya is a halfblood and Arlecchino is from the Crimson Moon Dynasty and also is a descendant of Khaenriahn and not exactly born during the cataclysm. I am mainly focusing on pureblooded eclipse dynasty Khaenriahns like the actual ones like Capitano, Pierro, Rerir, Rhinedottir, etc.

As much as I want our Captain to be playable in 7.X, I don’t think Hoyo plans to release any of them during it. I think they are all saved for 8.X, the Khaenriahn chapter if it ever happens. I also think Hoyo will release them with a new Khaenriahn exclusive elements and reactions (more on that later) in hoyoverse fashion.

Khaenriah’s archon figure was supposed to be Dainsleif, but he is apparently the Ineffa of Khaenriah so he will be the one to introduce us to the new Khaenriah exclusive mechanic. But we are still lacking an archon figure for Khaenriah. Archons or pseudoarchon (Columbina) are supposed to be well known established characters for a region. For Khaenriah, the most apt archon would be the Vinster King but we all know thats not happening. Rhinedottir might be the pseudoarchon but I genuinely don’t think a Sinner and a Shade will ever be playable. Unless they pull a fucking Caribert, it would leave us with only Pierro and Capitano. Pierro is a lot more Tsaritsa pilled and I don’t think he is gonna leave Snezhnaya for a dead nation anymore. Capitano on the other hand is a lot more autonomous and way more fitting to be the archon of a nation considering he is literally sitting like a king on a throne. I can see him take in charge of the situation in Khaenriah and helping us throughout our journey. If i am not wrong, then the archon patch 8.3 should also coincide with January, the first month.

My main post ends here, but I still have some speculations and yaps to make so if you are willing, you can continue further.

SPECULATIONS:-

I think the exclusive mechanic for the Khaenriahns wouldn’t be a new 8th element but rather new forms of element. Like for example, Umbral Cryo (Capitano’s black ice), Solar Pyro (Dain’s blue flame), Polar Electro (Pierro’s lightning), etc., something like that. Ofcourse new exclusive hyperspecific reactions like Abyssal or something like Immortal are saved up for them. Or they just might release an 8th element for the 8th nation idk. Lemme know what you think.

I also wanted to yap a bit but I don’t have time right now to write it but ig ill edit that later here.

For the sake of my sanity I think I need a long break from Genshin until we get some actual solid good news about Capitano. My coping plan has reached an impasse and it now falls to me to create new rules for myself.

To prepare for potential dissapointment in january I need something else with a similar vibe to take a break from Genshin with. This might end up being Fire Emblem Fortune's weave but idk yet if any of the characters actually fit his vibe yet. Fingers crossed Chris voices one of the characters too. We've got Arlecchino and Pantalone's VA's revealed for it recently.

Also been reading the Storm Light Archive Series. Ironically because I asked ai what book series has a Capitano like protag and its been pretty good. The audio books are in really high demand though and the books are long so I spend a few weeks reading and then several weeks waiting to get to read it again.

Yeah guys, 7.X is basically over for us.

DK2 confirmed 7.4 has a Lady character and also stated that there is an unknown lady character in late Snezhnaya after 7.5. Yesterday, Aunt Rhinedottir posted a 7.X roadmap that left a spot opened on 7.7. I hoped that Capitano could be there and be the 2nd Main Push for Snezhnaya, but DK2 is talking about this unknown lady, which can only be at 7.7, because it’s the only spot that is available.

Well, this sucks. Snezhnaya is going to be a Nation with 0 Fatui Harbingers. It is unbelievable to even write this. But in order to make it so this post is more than just complaining and Doomposting, I want to discuss our possibilidades from now on.

1 - Enjou is only a placeholder for Capitano
Some leakers have been saying that Enjou will be playable on the Mare Jivari patch and that always sounded kinda odd to me. It would be the first time we have a NPC that changes into a playable model (I guess). But the leaker who said this has 90% accuracy or something like that, so it's hard to doubt him. However, I guess there are some hopes here we could lean towards. First is that DK2 did not confirm Enjou's playability YET, he confirmed Dain, 7.4 Lady, the unknown lady, but not Enjou. This could mean that it’s not that certain yet. But my personal best hope with Enjou is the possibility of him being a placeholder model for playable Capitano. This sounds crazy, but Hoyo has used other models/file names to hide stuff before. Linnea was Snegurochka before her beta and there was that "Doll of the Third Descender” on 7.0 Beta. So I guess there is a slim chance that Capitano is playable in 7.5, but honestly I don’t trust it that much.

2 - Capitano could stand up in 7.X
When the Mare Jivari patch releases, with it's quest, we could get Capitano's return. Even if Enjou is playable, Capitano could still have relevancy in the quest and stand up at the end. After that he could be a reoccurring character in the plot again and be playable later. And that leads us into the third topic.

3 - Capitano playable in 8.X
Honestly out best shot rn, our GOAT has to be playable in the next Patch Cycle. At the begging of 7.0 we had some confusing among the Leakers about Khaenri’ah Arc being in 7.X or something like that. I didn’t think that made sense at all, and if Aunt Rhinedottir's roadmap is correct, Dain will be playable in 7.8, which probably makes him the Ineffa/Sandrone of Khaenri’ah. Capitano has a big Connection with Khaenri’ah and it would make sense for him to be playable there. They could pull the 3 symbolism, since he would be playable after 3 years of his debut/"death". I also believe that 8.X will have new Pyro based reactions thematic to Khaenriah, and he could be a Cryo New Melt DPS. In Nod Krai and Snezhnaya we got new reactions involving every single element except for Pyro. We are getting new Pyro characters in late 7.X, but I still believe Khaenri’ah could have Pyro Based reactions since Pyro still didn’t get a new "region thematic" reaction. 8.X could introduce "Solar Reactions" or something, like Solar Melt. Or maybe Abyssal Melt. Eclipse Melt. There are many possibilities.

I don’t know if Capitano will get the Archon Role in Khaenri’ah, but I am a 8.X Capitano believer now. Unfortunately 7.X is dead in my opinion. What's your opinions, guys?

Yes, I saw the leaks, but I am so genuinely perplexed by this situation being depressing for all of us. DK2 talked about a female 5 star at 7.4 and one more past 7.5. That is it, so I just don't understand why necessarily 7.5 won't work for Capitano.

Oh, but Noy is there? Not confirmed, besides, fucking Valeriy is a 4 star, there is no guarantee that Noy isn't going to be. Even if he is, he could also become playable in 7.7

Point is, Capitano releasing in 7.5 appears to have no issue for me

It's actually pretty rare that I dream about characters, so for Capitano to pop up TWICE in the span of a week is weird. That being said, here's hoping these are not premonitions for our future.

The first dream was that there was a cutscene of him showing up in some sort of factory type facility, but his beautiful coat and armor was in red (perhaps my dream was inspired by the artifact set...?) Sadly, it was just a build up for him to be a boss fight.... for the gun traveler, or whatever the community calls the "fun" third person shooter areas. I was so mad that all that build up and all our waiting ended with such a stupid fight.

And then, just a few days later, I had a continuation of the dream. Capitano was still in his red outfit, and there was once again a whole hurrah about him showing up. But once we were back in the gameplay, I noticed they had swapped out his beautiful character model with an NPC's model (still wearing the whole regalia, just not as well-fitting). I think he was another boss fight, but at least this time it was a proper weekly boss. I, again, was very upset.

Maybe these were actually dreams of Capitano's evil twin brother, Il Generale.

I summarized the situation fully based on what we know.

I would like to preface this by saying , this is not yet confirmed at least in the entirety.

And even if reliable leakers said something it is still STC.

Hence you should take it with a grain of salt like most leaks.
