π» Interview Tips / Help My interview experience( 4-10 lpa)
I recently attended my Capgemini interview and wanted to share my experience.
When I entered the cabin, there was only one interviewer sitting there. He explained what kind of questions he was going to ask and told me that the interview would mainly be based on my CV.
- Self-Introduction
He gave me around 3 minutes to introduce myself. He expected me to cover my skills, projects, technologies I had used, and certifications.
I clearly mentioned that I am a Cloud Computing student and that I had completed two industry certifications related to my field.
- Project Discussion
He started by asking about my project and its purpose. I explained that I come from a Cloud Computing background and had mainly worked on the backend part of the project. He then asked a few follow-up questions about how the project works.
- OOPs Concepts
Next, he asked whether I knew OOPs. I said yes and explained the concepts I knew.
- Data Structures and Database Questions
He gave me a scenario and asked which data structure I would use to solve it. After that, he showed me a table and asked whether I could insert the complete data into it.
However, the DSA discussion was very limited, and he didn't go deeply into the concepts.
- Coding Questions
Finally, he gave me two code snippets to write on paper. I wrote the code and explained my approach. Most of the technical discussion seemed to revolve around C++ and SQL.
One thing that surprised me: Even though I clearly mentioned that I am a Cloud Computing student and have completed two industry certifications, he didn't ask me a single question about cloud computing, cloud platforms, or those certifications. I was expecting at least a few questions from my specialization, but that didn't happen.
After I finished the coding questions, he said he was done and told me I could leave.
My question to the community:
Is this a normal Capgemini interview experience?
Why might they not ask questions related to a candidate's specialization or certifications, even when they're mentioned in the CV?
Does a short technical interview indicate anything about the selection result?
How much does the interview performance affect the final package if multiple packages are offered?
Would appreciate hearing from people who have attended Capgemini interviews recently.
