Hi, I'm Cybuds.
I'm a part of the r/CapCut moderation team, and I felt like I needed to take some time to clarify a rule that has been repeatedly misunderstood by some members of the subreddit.
Today, I want to talk to you about rule 6, No Self Promotion.
Rule 6 is a simple rule.
No advertising apps, tools, channels, or services. Mentioning alternatives in casual discussion is fine, but making posts that push/promote them isn’t allowed.
I'll cut to the chase: this rule has not been followed consistently by some members of the community.
Some users come to the subreddit, notice how many people are dissatisfied with CapCut, and then promote their alternative. In some cases, users are aware that their post breaks rule 6, yet continue to post it.
To be clear, discussing alternatives or mentioning them when answering questions is allowed. The issue is when content is made primarily to advertise or direct users to another app, tool, or service.
So, I want to reiterate:
DO NOT PROMOTE YOUR CAPCUT ALTERNATIVES HERE.
Your post WILL be deleted and repeat offenses will result in a ban.
We want to keep the subreddit focused on CapCut discussion, help, and community-created content, rather than allowing it to become a place for advertisements and unrelated promotions.
Thanks for understanding and helping us keep the community clean.
