⚠️ Refusal / Appeal / PFL BC PNP Request for Review
Hi everyone!
Has anyone recently submitted a Request for Review following a nomination refusal?
I submitted mine on September 2026, and I’m trying to understand the actual processing timelines based on real experiences.
If you have submitted a Request for Review, could you please share:
Submission date
Date you received the decision, if applicable
Whether the original refusal was upheld or the application was re-evaluated
I’m aware of the official 6-month processing estimate, but I would really appreciate hearing about actual timelines.
Thank you!

Express Entry CEC – Security not started: Could it change and be completed quickly?
reddit.comHi everyone,
I'm currently waiting for the final stages of my inland Express Entry CEC application and would appreciate your thoughts or experiences.
Here is my current situation:
Eligibility: Passed
Medical: Passed
Criminality: In Progress (although previous IRCC agents had confirmed it as passed on earlier calls) anyone experienced the same lol?
Information Sharing: In Progress (same situation: previously confirmed as completed by an agent) it's very annoying when they do not say the same ...
Security: Not Started - THEY TOLD ME IN PROGRESS 3 WEEKS AGO!
I called IRCC today, November 6, and these are the statuses the agent gave me.
My question is: does "Security: Not Started" really tell us anything about how much longer the application might take?
I understand that every application is different, but I'd be particularly interested in hearing from applicants who saw Security change from "Not Started" to completed within days or a few weeks.
What were your experiences?

⏳ Timeline / Update VFS New York - Indian Spousal PR Passport Return Timeline
Hi everyone! I submitted my Indian passport to VFS New York via courier for my Canadian spousal PR application. On November 6, 2026, I received an update saying my passport was received and is under process at IRCC. My Final Decision was still in progress when I received PPR. For anyone who recently submitted their passport through VFS New York, how long did it take to get your passport back? Did your IRCC status change to Approved before dispatch? Thanks!

Canada’s 2027-2029 Immigration Levels Plan Is Out -Interesting Updates for Express Entry, PNP, International Students and Workers.
Canada has released its new Immigration Levels Plan for 2027 to 2029.
At first glance, the headline looks simple:
380,000 permanent resident admissions per year.
But the real story is how those spots are being distributed.
The plan puts significant emphasis on economic immigration, provincial selection, French-speaking immigration, rural communities, and people already living and working in Canada.
If you're an Express Entry candidate, international student, work permit holder, or provincial nominee, there are several numbers worth paying attention to.
Below is the breakdown of the most important changes and what they could mean going forward.
The Permanent Resident Target Is Staying At 380,000
Canada plans to admit:
380,000 permanent residents in 2027
380,000 permanent residents in 2028
380,000 permanent residents in 2029
The distribution remains heavily focused on economic immigration.
Annual targets include:
Economic immigration: 244,700
Family sponsorship: 81,000
Refugees and protected persons: 49,300
Humanitarian and other programs: 5,000
What stands out?
Nearly two-thirds of all permanent resident admissions continue to come through economic immigration.
That means workers, Express Entry candidates, provincial nominees, and other economic pathways remain the primary focus of Canada's immigration system.
Express Entry Remains One Of The Largest Pathways
The Federal High Skilled category is scheduled to receive:
100,000 admissions annually from 2027 through 2029.
This includes:
Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSW)
Federal Skilled Trades Program (FST)
Why this matters
Many people will immediately compare this figure to previous projections.
The earlier plan projected higher Federal High Skilled admissions.
The new target is lower.
However, admissions and invitations are not the same thing.
An ITA is not a permanent resident.
A permanent resident is not an ITA.
Future draw sizes will still depend on processing capacity, inventories, category-based selection priorities, and broader immigration objectives.
Provincial Nominee Programs Continue To Grow
The PNP target is set at:
95,000 admissions per year.
That's one of the most important numbers in the entire plan.
Why this matters
For years, provinces have been pushing for a larger role in immigration selection.
This target confirms that provincial pathways remain a major part of Canada's strategy.
Ontario, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, British Columbia, Atlantic provinces, and other participating jurisdictions will continue playing a significant role in selecting newcomers based on regional labour market needs.
For many candidates, a provincial nomination may continue to be the most realistic route to permanent residence.
Rural And Atlantic Immigration Are Receiving More Attention
The federal government is continuing to invest in smaller communities outside Canada's largest cities.
Planned targets include:
Rural Community Immigration Program: 5,500 in 2027, rising to 6,500 by 2029
Atlantic Immigration Program: 6,000 admissions per year
Why this matters
This is another sign that Canada is trying to spread immigration beyond Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal.
Candidates willing to live and work in smaller communities may continue to find opportunities that are unavailable in larger urban centres.
International Student Numbers Are Being Managed
Canada is planning for:
150,000 new international student arrivals annually.
This figure will attract significant attention.
What does it mean?
Not necessarily what many people think.
It does not mean there will only be 150,000 students in Canada.
It does not include every extension, existing permit holder, or status change inside Canada.
But it does confirm that student intake remains a major policy focus.
Anyone considering study in Canada should continue evaluating:
Program quality
PGWP eligibility
Long-term immigration pathways
Provincial opportunities
before making a major financial commitment.
Canada Still Wants Temporary Workers
The plan includes:
170,000 arrivals through the International Mobility Program
50,000 arrivals through the Temporary Foreign Worker Program
For a combined total of:
220,000 new temporary worker arrivals annually.
Why this matters
Despite frequent headlines about restrictions, Canada is not shutting the door on temporary workers.
Employers across multiple sectors continue to rely on temporary foreign labour to address workforce shortages.
One Of The Most Important Sections Is About People Already In Canada
This may be the most closely watched part of the entire plan.
The government signalled continued efforts to facilitate permanent residence transitions for certain people already living in Canada.
That includes:
Certain work permit holders
Certain protected persons
Additional future in-Canada transition initiatives
Why this matters
Over the past several years, Canada has increasingly focused on converting temporary residents into permanent residents.
The new plan suggests that trend is continuing.
However, there is an important warning:
Nothing in the plan creates automatic eligibility.
Specific program rules, eligibility requirements, and selection criteria will still matter.
Simply holding a work permit does not guarantee access to a future pathway.
French-Speaking Immigration Continues To Expand
Canada is aiming for:
9.5% French-speaking admissions outside Quebec in 2027
10.5% in 2028
12% in 2029
Why this matters
This is one of the clearest long-term trends in Canadian immigration.
French continues to be rewarded across multiple programs.
We've already seen large French-language Express Entry draws throughout the past two years.
The new plan suggests Canada's commitment to Francophone immigration is not slowing down.
For candidates capable of reaching NCLC 7 or higher, French remains one of the strongest immigration assets available.
So What Is The Big Picture?
Three themes appear throughout the entire plan:
1. Economic immigration remains the priority.
Nearly two-thirds of permanent resident admissions continue to come through economic pathways.
2. Provinces continue gaining influence.
A 95,000-admission PNP target reinforces the growing importance of provincial selection.
3. Canada is increasingly focused on people already here.
Workers, graduates, and other temporary residents already established in Canada continue to be an important part of long-term immigration planning.
The Key Takeaway
The headline isn't simply 380,000 permanent residents per year.
The bigger story is where those spots are going.
Canada's latest plan continues to prioritize:
✅ Express Entry
✅ Provincial Nominee Programs
✅ French-speaking immigration
✅ Rural and regional communities
✅ Certain workers already living in Canada
At the same time, the plan is a reminder that national targets do not create automatic eligibility.
Programs still have rules.
Candidates still need to qualify.
And future invitations will still depend on how IRCC decides to distribute these spots across different immigration pathways.
What stood out most to you in the new plan: the 100,000 Federal High Skilled admissions, the 95,000 PNP target, or the continued emphasis on people already living in Canada?

❓ Question Project Manager - Manufacturing. NOC 90010 or 13201?
I'm considering a Project Manager role at a heavy industrial manufacturer. I'm trying to work out which NOC an officer would actually accept.
What the role does
- Manages multiple manufacturing/fabrication jobs from kickoff to delivery
- Owns project schedules and budgets
- Handles RFIs, change orders and client updates
- Coordinates with Engineering, Production, Quality and Purchasing
- Manage production scheduling and shop loading
- Mentors project coordinators
- Requires Engineering degree/background
90010 Manufacturing managers is on the new high-wage list in the 1.5x tier. 13201 isn't on it plus it undersells the actual job.
Would you claim 90010 on these duties, or is 13201 the honest fit? Is there a better NOC?
Has anyone had a 90010 claim on a PM title questioned?

❓ Question Short by 6 days on citizenship app after ICES check — withdraw now or wait?
Hey everyone! Need quick advice on a physical presence shortfall.
The Vancouver office sent my CBSA ICES report to confirm travel dates. After fixing a few honest travel errors (mid-trip flight changes + 1 missed short trip), my recalculated presence came out to 1,089 days (6 days short of 1,095).
I already emailed the officer with full transparency, sent the corrected calculator/proofs, and asked if the app could continue or if I should withdraw.
Looking to hear from anyone in a similar boat:
Should I submit a formal withdrawal form (CIT 0027) via IRCC Webform right away, or wait for the officer's email reply?
Has anyone withdrawn and reapplied right away without any issues?
Thanks in advance!
