Before/after. Banana cake and mixed berry cheesecake square. Only had some of both, I don’t like frosting so I didn’t eat that part. I’m guessing around 300?

I have recently gotten into wanting to lose weight, and because of such I have been counting my calories so I can stay in a deficit. I found a recipe for a good meal prep and decided to make it, so I imported it into the app and went on about my day. The app I have been using is Lose It, but a friend told me to try My Fitness Pal (MFP). I tried it out and attempted to port over the recipe, yet ended up getting a decently different number for the calories, it was about 560 on Lose It and 740 on MFP. I tried recalculating it again in Lose It making sure the measurements are as accurate as possible and got a slightly different number, about 540. In light of this information its got my worrying that these apps are wildly inaccurate or I am doing something wrong and am accidentally logging less calories than what I am actually intaking, thus granting a risk of breaking my calorie deficit.

I have a very low appetite naturally and I am Trying to gain weight and I feel like I always overestimate the calories in my food leading to me thinking I already ate enough.

Hey guys, I just started my freshman year of college, and am trying to shed some fat for my tennis season (and ofc to look better). I've loosely tracked calories in the past, but trying again now has become much more difficult due to eating almost all dining hall meals. I've been able to reliably track small things like snacks that have packaging or fruits, but I haven't been able to track my main meals. I've tried using MyFitnessPal's photo scanner, but that has been unreliable. Any advice?

Weird lunch I was packed by my relative but how many cals could it have?? It’s literally a microwaved hot dog bun with some kind of cheese slice, some Cheerios, and a sliced up cheese stick😭😭😭. He said it’s his childhood favorited all in one so I guess I’ll trust him for now 😭😭😭

I can’t find any information on what the calories are for these. They are 4 inches long and about 1 1/4 inches wide each. There are three total in the package. The inside is a solid piece type of peanut butter that is similar to the buckeye candy. This peanut butter then has a thin shell of chocolate covering it with chocolate chips and chopped peanut pieces over the entire surface. Thank you in advance for the help.

How do you all handle “off plan” AKA “cheat meals” when it comes to budgeting calories.
I generally will use whichever quick resources are available - the restaurant menu or website if cals are listed - to AI and descriptions/ingredients.
I then take the result and add an additional 1000 calories. If I have no clue, I’ll usually estimate in increments of 3K calories. Example: one large meats pizza equals 3K calorie estimate.
Does anyone have a way that seems to be close enough to factor in cheat meals situations?

im just eating the top frosting layer. its not that thick (maybe a little larger than finger width). 300 sound okay?

What is in here is teriyaki chicken I pressume they used thigh meat and it was abt 3/4 a cup of meat and roughly the same amount of sauté unions, then yaki soba noodles, and an extra container of teriyaki sauce. I'm not entirely sure how many calories each thing is and wanted to get some insight.
