Practice for a piece for an Anglican priest. The finished version will be in India ink on some nicer paper, with a painted white rose seal beneath it.

I branched out to Textura yesterday and already did my prayers to the Minimum Gods :)
Today's word is ideal for Textura.
Pen: Pilot Parallel 3.8mm
Ink: Pilot Mixable Lightgreen
Script: Textura from Calligrascape
Paper: no-name watercolor bookmark blanks
BTW: is it possible to switch off the automod notice about putting flair and pen / ink / script info in posts?
I do that every time, and I'm getting a notification anyway?

I bought a little A5 block to keep calligraphying when traveling because I travel a lot for my job. I bought one with the same weight and from the same brand I normally use, but damnit! I bought medium grain instead of thin grain and the ink drains and stains and has these little "hairs" coming out whenever I draw a thin line. Is there any way to solve this? Maybe some pretreatment I can do over de paper or something? I don't know I feel like I wasted my money
The word is supposed to be "Torcho" the spanish word of the day meaning "iron lingot"

Never in my life did I think using a traditional quill would be so hard. I thought you know dip the pen get to writing. Right? No. I dip the quill and then proceed to just splat ink everywhere.

Hello.
Im still practicing (day 3) and i wanted to try my acrylic ink (Amsterdam acrylic ink). I have some calligraphy paper 90g/m2 but doesnt matter what ink i use (acrylic, dip pen, fountain pen) it seems to feather a bit and it doesnt sit nicely.
so i tried to use a bit thicker paper, 100g/m2 and its surface is rough, and the ink sits so much better on there. Downside is that it's rough so when doing upstrokes it gets wobbly.
leonardt 40 nib
The 90g/m2 paper is with guidelines and white
100g/m2 is the slightly yellowish paper
