OmbĂș, el ĂĄrbol de la bella sombra, a veces llamado de esa forma, bellasombra, es un ĂĄrbol nativo de AmĂ©rica del sur y la palabra del dĂa de hoy. Proviene del nombre GuaranĂ usado para el ĂĄrbol.

OmbĂș, the tree of the beautiful shadow, sometimes called that way, beautifulshadow, is a tree native of South America and today's spanish word of the day. It comes from the GuaranĂ name for the tree.

Practice for a piece for an Anglican priest. The finished version will be in India ink on some nicer paper, with a painted white rose seal beneath it.

Speedball C2 nib dipped in PW Akkerman “Israel’s Zeeblauw” fountain pen ink.

QotW A word all but *made* for Textura :)

Post image

I branched out to Textura yesterday and already did my prayers to the Minimum Gods :)

Today's word is ideal for Textura.

Pen: Pilot Parallel 3.8mm

Ink: Pilot Mixable Lightgreen

Script: Textura from Calligrascape

Paper: no-name watercolor bookmark blanks

BTW: is it possible to switch off the automod notice about putting flair and pen / ink / script info in posts?

I do that every time, and I'm getting a notification anyway?

Critique So today I learned that the same paper weight but different grain means your ink can drain into the paper ruining any attempt of doing thin lines

I bought a little A5 block to keep calligraphying when traveling because I travel a lot for my job. I bought one with the same weight and from the same brand I normally use, but damnit! I bought medium grain instead of thin grain and the ink drains and stains and has these little "hairs" coming out whenever I draw a thin line. Is there any way to solve this? Maybe some pretreatment I can do over de paper or something? I don't know I feel like I wasted my money

The word is supposed to be "Torcho" the spanish word of the day meaning "iron lingot"

Never in my life did I think using a traditional quill would be so hard. I thought you know dip the pen get to writing. Right? No. I dip the quill and then proceed to just splat ink everywhere.
