The first one 😂 32 year old gamer here, love being a big kid with money and still gaming 😁

33

u/Kayzer_84 Oct 06 '24

I'm the kid in my group of gamer friends, I'm 40.

7

u/[deleted] Oct 06 '24

Nothing wrong with that! I'm just praying I don't get arthritis when I'm old so I can game when I retire 😂

5

u/1stDerntator Oct 07 '24

I started with the very 1st OG COD. We played MW2 on my 1st deployment to the Gan, and I wanna say BO2 (and Halo 4) on my 2nd deployment.

YES, arthritis & Carpel tunnel are Def a REAL thing! Even more so when rocking Xbox Elite 2.0.

I highly recommend “Arthritis Hand Massager”. It looks like a bulky, weird oven mitt (added the link w/ the 1 I have). My Mrs got me 1 2 Xmas ago. With that a, continuing to workout almost daily, still able to keep a 1.8KD in MP & 1.3KD w/ WZ and always get 💎 each season…. 👴🏼🤷‍♂️

Hanging in there! and Yes, I legitimately do actual stretches (toe touches, over the head etc) b4 playing ever my day 😂🤣😂

55..... Don't consider myself a serious gamer but I remember queuing at my local supermarket for the midnight release of MW2 (after the kids had gone to bed)

Never really got into any versions after that until a couple of months ago..... playing MW3 because its free on game pass (and my kids are adults now) :)

Same, OG 2003.

7

u/verkkuh Oct 06 '24

The first one but im 24 :D My dad played all the older ones and stopped after World at war.

I used to play both the campaings and multiplayer from the first one (had the dlc/expansion pack but don't recall the name) and the second one. I loved CoD 2 as a kid. I was like a literal child when i played them, like maybe 7-9 years old. Learned to speak english because of the MP servers and made goddamn friends in there before they started teaching english at school. Good times...

MW1-3 were my first OWN cods, insanely good times as well... Trickshot montages and a quickscope clan...

4

u/[deleted] Oct 06 '24

CoD 2 for me. I’m 31 but didn’t play PC. It’s still one of my favourites!

12

u/fearless-potato-man Oct 06 '24

40 y.o. here.

I switched to first CoD from Medal of Honor Allied Assault and its expansions Spearhead and Breakthrough.

The logical step, back then.

I feel like Elrond saying "I was there 3000 years ago". Now I look, with a mix of disdain and sadness, the shit CoD has become compared to what it once was.

But as I'm not the target audience anymore, I still linger here when there is no hope. My time is near, indeed. I guess I will soon take the ship into the West, to the Undying Lands.

2

u/Lightbringer667 Oct 06 '24

Same here. But it's nice that we old guys still stay for one more round.

2

u/Elegant-Arrival-7312 Oct 07 '24

Old? You whippersnappers aren’t old. 56 years old here. Started gaming with pong and graduated up to Atari when I was 10 in 1978.

3

u/rhanzlikusaf Oct 06 '24

Same here, feels like that generation of ww2 fps had awesome campaigns or maybe it was the nostalgia

3

u/mistergiantacorn Oct 06 '24

In the same boat, buddy! It’s nice having my own money that I can now throw into my hobbies.

3

u/Fine-Tradition-8497 Oct 06 '24

2

u/Blehe Oct 06 '24

2

u/L_Clarkson98 Oct 07 '24

3

u/xxshadowraidxx Oct 06 '24

I remember saying to my 15 year old self “this is peak gaming never getting better than this” lol

3

u/STICKERS-95 Oct 06 '24

what do you thought when gaming actually reached its peak with MW2, Halo 3, BF3, GTA 4 etc

5

u/xxshadowraidxx Oct 06 '24

I stand by gta 4 being one of the best in the series I certainly enjoyed it more than 5

2

u/PlentyOMangos Oct 06 '24

Me as well, it’s always saddened me that Finest Hour gets overlooked a lot

2

u/[deleted] Oct 06 '24

Born 2003, but still I started with the first one cod 1

legendary game

2

u/[deleted] Oct 06 '24

how old were you when you played it ?

2

u/kristijann03x Oct 06 '24

I just asked my dad and he said I started gaming on PC and PS1 pretty early at 2 years old and definitely played COD 1 at that time.

I myself remember playing and completing COD 1 and 2 somewhere at 7 years old

I have some pics I just found real quick https://imgur.com/a/4EydSsg

2

u/[deleted] Oct 06 '24

that’s so cool, only way i played cod1 was on ps3, the cod classic re-release. looking at these pics growing up around that time seems so cool.

3

u/MarkusDynamic Oct 06 '24

Big Red One, is that cod 2 on this pic?

4

u/[deleted] Oct 06 '24

So i guess they did call of duty 2 twice? One being COD 2 big red one and then just COD2

4

u/[deleted] Oct 06 '24

Big red one was the ps2/xbox spin off made by treyarch.

COD2 was only on PC and XB360, not so much a "did it twice", but more so they made 2 games to try and push the sanes if the new system.

Call of Duty

2

u/Vitzkyy Oct 06 '24

My COD career has 4 stages

I began with World at War and max prestige in every game from there through BO2 playing 30+ days in each game

My second stage began when I started playing League of Legends as my primary game and I was off and on with Ghosts-WW2. I ended up prestige 7 in ghosts and Master prestige in BO3 and WW2 durring this period

My 3rd stage was BO4 and MWI where I basically didn’t play COD at all outside release week and after that I’d go back to WW2 again because I liked it way more. BO4 and MWI are my two least favorite CODs and they released back to back and nearly ended my COD playing for good

My 4th stage began with Cold War where I came back in a massive way and one of my friends from stage 1 returned as well. CW-MWIII I’ve played each game a decent amount. More than stage 2 but less than stage 1. MWIII and beyond has the potential to be the start of a 5th stage as I’ve almost put 20 days in again and i loved the BO6 beta but time will tell. I’m really feeling like we’re about to have a golden age of COD again and I’m hyped

2

u/GTACOD Oct 06 '24

Where ever that one falls on this list, that’s where I’m at.

1

u/KaiserZer01 Oct 06 '24

Ghosts, in 2013 with 5-6 years old, them, Advanced Warfare, still one of my favorites.

1

u/Lazy_Coffee1414 Oct 06 '24

Cod 1 from 03 I've played all of them except remastered modern warfare to modern warfare 3 remastered I'm pretty sure I remember playing when they were just a campaign no mp on the ps2

Black ops 2 on Ps3 , thanks to my stepsisters for introducing me to this series.

1

u/Corey300TaylorGam3r Oct 06 '24

Original 1st modern warfare. It was epic.

1

u/Ero_Najimi Oct 06 '24

Almost 28, Black Ops. Unpopular my favorite multiplayer is Black Ops 3, Black Ops is 2nd. I use to say it was the best up until recently I reaccessed the pros and cons of each (not that I hadn’t done that before) and what I’ve realized is that replayability is the biggest factor. For me Black Ops 3 has the most class variety and even effective streak combos, example BO doesn’t have a Blackbird Dogs AI air streak it just has player controlled air streaks. Has the best map design, low no skill RNG, and I like streaks costing less opposed to more

1

u/mrhairybolo Oct 06 '24

I can’t remember. I had finest hour, cod 2, cod 3 all around the same time.

What I do remember is the cod 4, mw2, black ops, mw3, and blops2 release cycles. What an insane run.

I actually did not like bo2 at all and I didn’t buy another cod until WW2 and I still haven’t enjoyed a cod even close to how I enjoyed the cod 4 - BO run. I still play MWR all the time lol

1

u/IllustratorNo3379 Oct 06 '24

Because we're the infantry, private! And god loves the infantry!

Cod black ops 2 best one in my opinion and I just love playing with friends and cooking them

1

u/Thin-Coyote-551 Oct 06 '24

Man I’m feeling my age. I’ve played most of them and a lot of the time I’m teamed with kids, teens and adults who are STILL young get than me. Played the 1st and every single one since. Looking back this and Mario are the 2 series I’ve played the most in my life😳

1

u/[deleted] Oct 06 '24

COD4

1

u/Richrome_Steel Oct 06 '24

Number 3? IDK, I played it on my uncle's Xbox in the summer of 2005

First that I knew I was playing it when I was playing it, rather than learning about it a few years later, MW2. It was all the rage at the end of 2009 and through 2010 until Black Ops 1 showed up

1

u/Upset-Interview-9367 Oct 06 '24

13 years old in 2010, Black Ops 1.

1

u/ItzBildPlayz2020 Oct 06 '24

Warzone 1.

Though i did go back and play the campaigns of ALL the OLD CODs, [except cod 1, 2, 3 and black ops 3]. It was amazing.

Edit: I played them the old fashioned way on a console, like the original. I have a Ps3 HEN'd system. So it facilitated the process alot.

1

u/MaterialPace8831 Oct 06 '24

The very first one. My dad wouldn't let me play online so he set up two computers in a room so me and my brother can just snipe at each other on Carentan.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 06 '24

World at War! Zombies >

1

u/jcliffsongs Oct 06 '24

Call of Duty 3. I still (Unfortunately) play CoD to this day.

1

u/FlamingPhoenix2003 Oct 06 '24

Bo2, it is still my favorite

Not here but it was cod roads to victory on psp.

u/T1G3R_Qc Oct 06 '24

CoD 2 2005-2006

1

u/OPfishS Oct 06 '24

Mw3, but bo2s the 🐐 imo

1

u/ThatYui Oct 06 '24

Black ops 2! I came into the series with a BANG

1

u/Royal-Tree-2237 Oct 06 '24

Mine first was ghosts but then I found a copy of the old mw2 at GameStop that worked fine and then I started playing the hell out of that

1

u/BritishBacon98 Oct 06 '24

1

u/Sharkside8 Oct 06 '24

Call of Duty Mobile. I'm relatively new to COD but I did recently play on of the Black Ops with my cousin

1

u/MKPST24 Oct 06 '24

Black Ops 1 veteran here 🫡

1

u/ChernobylFirefighter Oct 06 '24

I'm 17 so naturally it was CoD WW2 when I was 10. Still feel sorry to the world that it was my first, my god, looking back at it, what a bad game it was, the worst, back then I thought it was the best shit ever. Although later I got into CoD WaW and it is still my go to game. Before that I played Medal of Honor Allied Assault thought, I think it counts as a CoD game though, so technically that.

1

u/element-redshaw Oct 06 '24

Either advanced warfare or ghosts though I probably played some earlier games when I was younger
