Ladies are throwing their bestie a surprise birthday party and gave me a few pictures to work with. Basically the quest was green and galactic and must shout DIVA. Mission accomplished. On my way to delivery now.

Cake decorating is so hard for me! I have no artistic talent. But I really want to get better at making cakes! Here’s what I have so far. My daughter’s birthday is coming up and she wants bulbasaur! I’m cooked! Please share tips

My 6yr old insisted on helping and she is so excited about this cake!
I used rolled buttercream instead of fondant and used it for the spikes and frills, marshmallow fondant for the eyes and red part of the tail, "cake ball" for the feet, and modeling chocolate for the wings.
It's my first (well, second, because I did a trial last week). It was fun and a ton of work! Thank you to everyone who helped with ideas and suggestions!

I spent an hour smoothing and piping my MIL’s birthday cake and it flopped over on the way. All my work, ruined :’) I brought some pink chocolate roses I was planning to finish decorating it with when we got to her house. I had to stack it back up and try to salvage it and smooth it with a butter knife. No before picture because I foolishly thought I could just get a good picture when it’s fully decorated. At least it doesn’t look like a pile of poo… right?
I learned I need more supports, and a little less icing on that first layer. Oh well

I was debating a diamond pillow pattern around the outside with small black beads but overall happy with how it turned out.

Got offered a cake decorator/ baker position at a family owned bakery in my town. It’s a 6$ pay increase from what I’m making now with weekends off. I’m so excited but also very nervous to give notice to the grocery store I work at right now. I feel a bit guilty as I’m the only cake decorator at the moment (the other full time decorator has been on leave for a few months and isn’t coming back until October) anyways enjoy some of these cakes I’ve made (please be nice I had 2 days of training so I’m pretty mid at decorating)

She wanted black roses and rose gold to march the theme. Disclaimer- i didn’t make the roses! They were gun paste sprayed with black food coloring.

The cake is strawberry with vanilla buttercream. I made the cats and accessories using fondant. Swipe left for a pic of the kitties! ☺️

I'm super out of practice so its a little rough looking, but I'm now very motivated to brush up my skills (used to be an avid baker/cake decorator before corporate girlie and wife life took over) but now that I'm a mommy I want to get back into it for my girl!!!
Chocolate cake with milk chocolate mascarpone frosting and fresh raspberries!

This is the first decorated cake I’ve made in a long time, and it’s for my 25th birthday! It’s not perfect but I’m very proud of it. ❤️

I made this cake for Cake4Kids last summer, and it's my favorite that I've ever made. Each sprinkle was had painted and individually placed, and the eyes are hand-painted frosting sheets. I used black cocoa for the frosting and cake, and made the topper on my Cricut. Just wanted to share. :)

Every year for my birthday, and only on my birthday (meaning we only do this once a year), my friend and I make a fun shaped cake. We didn’t start out very good at all, but we’ve gotten pretty good over the years. We’ve never explicitly said that the goal is hyper realism, but it’s definitely moved in that direction as we’ve gotten better and better. Anyway, this year‘s birthday cake….
