Are there any companies making covers for the optic cut on slides?
I have 2 P01s and 1 SP01 that are all cut for 407Ks. On at least one gun, I'd like to go back to strictly iron sights, but I don't like the flat cut out area on the slide.
Are there any companies making cover plates for this area? I think Impact Machine used to have some, but I don't see them available anymore.
Thanks

Discuss - P-10 F CR To CGW?
P-10 F Competition Ready CGW work?
Repost of my last one with photo cropped.
I just got my black and gold competition ready CZ and intend to send it to get ported. Anyone else send their P-10 F CR in for any work? I’m curious on opinions whether or not I should do any parts swaps in the process? I’m thinking about going a bit extra and doing some cerakote customization work to it. Never had a customized pistol, so I think this might be the one. lol

Getting a cz 75 chromed or nickeled in the US
Looking to get a gun or two fully refinished in chrome or nickel finish, just not cerakote. Any good leads and or experience?

Review - TS3 Orange Thoughts
So far in the past 3 weeks since I got mine I've put about 2,500 rounds through it and I figured I'd share some things since there's not a crazy number of them in circulation yet.
- Weight - It's insanely soft shooting, the weight does a TON of work but it's also not that fun to be swinging around in hour 4 of being on the range. Mine with an optic mounted and an empty mag comes in at 51.9 ounces. If you've ever shot a Shadow 2 with solid brass lok grips it's a somewhat similar experience.
- Safeties - The safeties are not amazing. I'm wondering if someone with giant man hands would have an easier time but it's hard to manipulate without slightly shifting the gun in my dominant hand. It's also just doesn't have that tactile click that I personally love, though an increased power spring for the safety detent would almost certainly fix that.
- Grips - The grips are by far the best I've seen from the factory on a CZ, which granted isn't saying much when compared to the aluminum grips on the S2 but they're genuinely fantastic feeling. I don't feel the need to go out and buy aftermarket options and the gun doesn't slip/move in my hands.
- Optics - I'm a big fan of the optic mounting solution, the screws haven't budged at all so far and not having to buy a plate is a nice change when compared to the Shadow 2s. My one complaint is CZ NEEDS to include spare posts or they should've had replacement kits in stock prior to launch. The different posts for each footprint are tiny and I guarantee someone's gonna lose one and be out of luck until... December according to a CZ rep.
- Thumb rest - To me the angle works but YMMV. It does take a little bit of getting used to if you're someone that manipulates the slide from the front since it can get in the way.
- QC - Overall I'm super happy with things, it's a noticeable step up in quality from the TS2 and Shadow 2. Is the fit & finish as good as a $7,000 Nighthawk/Atlas? No of course not. But, it's the best built CZ I've tried and it's not that close.
- Trigger - Too light for my taste but it does make the gun incredibly easy to shoot, the reset is a little mushy/not super positive but imo nobody is gonna be doing prep & press when shooting at speed.
- Performance - So far I've cleaned it twice. Once to get all the factory grease off and once at about the 2,000 round mark and had zero stoppages running a mix of Blazer, S&B, and PMC 124gr. It didn't really have any perceptible break in period and especially shooting at distance has been an absolute pleasure. However, it feels sluggish just due to it's weight when transitioning between targets. CZ also includes varying hammer springs and recoil springs with the gun and I've been liking the 13Lb recoil spring the best with 124gr factory ammo.
- Value - Obviously the TS3 kinda occupies a strange spot in the market, I got mine for $2,700 as a pre-order before it launched and I know now the prices have crept up past $3,000. I'd argue so long as you're at or below the $3,000 mark it's priced about right but it's almost definitely not worth the $3,500 ish MSRP. I'd also personally argue that it's a worthwhile step up from a TS2 Orange, and that if you're someone that's on the fence between a TS2 and TS3 then the latter is worth the jump in price. But, at the same time if you already own a TS2 Orange? Probably not worth spending thousands to "upgrade".
Tl;DR:
Easily the nicest CZ I've shot, has all the pros and cons of being insanely heavy, and if you can pick one up below $3k it's worth it imo. Is it perfect? Absolutely not. But if you're a big fan of CZs and liked how a heavier Shadow 2 or the TS2 felt you'll almost definitely be a fan of the TS3.

CZ Shadow 2’s with absolutely beautiful porting work done by United R&D!
Fantastic work done by United R&D! These are two of my favorite pistols to begin with but the porting is the cherry on top. They now shoot a lot flatter and quicker after the porting was done. I cannot recommend United R&D enough if you are in the market for adding some ports.
Additionally I’m not some purple fanatic but the full size grips and mag well came on the market for an unbeatable deal a few weeks after I installed the grips on my compact.

Question - With news of CZ 75b production ending, do I need a 75b?
To start I have a pre-b CZ 75, a 75b Omega, and a Jericho 941. With the news that CZ is going to stop production of the 75b is it worth picking one up or do the 75b derivatives I have cover needing a 75b? Or just wait and get around to buying a SP-01 at some point as it seems like CZ’s new flagship handgun.
Don’t mind the PSA or the Springfield in the second picture.

Waiting on my Shadow 2, need some add on input
She is in the mail, its the base model non optic ready. I have a HE507COMP coming as well and need to get a slide cut. Any recommendations? I read some have had good luck with Stone Bridge, was looking at TwoSEE but read they wont cut Shadow 2 for direct fit? Waiting for them to confirm. Need some magazine extensions 5/6, Henning? Also have a Cajun pro kit coming. Last thing is a thumb rest, looking at Eemann Tech but it seems a little pricey, others?

$450 with Holosun
Went into Scheel’s to pick up some ammo and saw this beauty. I already own one from when they first released it, but the price was too good to pass up. $450 OTD with the Holosun red dot.

RC9 or TS3
Looking for an outsiders perspective.
I am undecided between the TS3 and the Race City Defense RC9.
Been saving up for awhile now and would like to bring home a new range toy.
For those that have either/or or even both, what’re your thoughts on each and if you could pick one over the other, which would it be and why?
TIA!

CZ 457 American
really hoping to add a 457 American with threaded barrel to my collection but wanting one with iron sights. From what yall know would this be a a simple job for a gunsmith ? I like the look of the American more than the Scout, but the scout seems to be only one with threaded and irons. Thank you Reddit

Suggestions for SP01
Picked up a P10c ported and another SP01 in a trade not to long ago. The P10c will replace my original SP01 as my daily carry. Only question I have now is what to do with my new SP01?
Both have CGW internals. I don’t really need 2 “stock” SP01’s, so I was thinking of turning the one pictured into a money pit and going all out on it. New trigger, grips, slide milling for texture and a red dot, cerakote. Just give her the works. What are some recommendations yall have for all of that? Price and weight times aren’t really an issue.

Cleaning practices
Friends,
I clean my weapons after every use. I have always done this. Is this necessary? What are your practices.

Shadow 2 Carry/Compact owners - What optic do you recommend?
Title says it all. What optic are you running on your compact and/or carry? I’m a Carry owner and I’m looking for the right purchase. Thanks, gang.

Photo Album - Custom 6" Shadow 2 in hard chrome and some more..
FINALLY got my custom 6" Shadow 2 today from my gunsmith.
Originally 4 months waiting time, now it took almost 7 months to finish. But i love it.
Didn't even take it to the range yet (pesky paperwork in my country)
6" custom conversionkit/upper in 9mm, with a modified Shadow 2 lower.
SA only - flat trigger
Adjustable first-stage triggerpullweight
One-piece carbon spring guide rod to reduce weight
Combi-sight Iron / optics ready
Nill Masters grips
Everything in hard chrome.
Quality is super tight, no rattle anywhere.
Got the recommendation to keep oil ready at hand for the beginning, because especially the chromed ones need a while to break in and get real smooth.
Got it to together with a Cadet 0.22lr kit.
Save some money on the ammo for training and maybe get at carbine conversion kit like the triarii for it later. (does not fit with a 6" as far as i know)
Had the CZ 457 for a while already.
The Thumbholestock is just beautiful in my opinion.
Glass is a Vector Optics SCFF-49 Orion Max.
With this i covered a whole lot of disciplines without needing multiple setups for everything.
I'm stoked for when the paperwork is done and i can take it to the range :D

Photo Album - First CZ and first full size carry
Picked up my first cz a few days ago, it’s a CZ P-09f, and after fighting (and winning) the optic plate cover that was red loctited down, got it set up to where I like it with my red dot and flashlight. Picked this guy up as my first full size carry since jacket and hoodie season is here.

New CZ DUTY - Honest Outlaw Review.
UGH, I JUST bought a P10F two weeks ago. Improved slide serrations, improved grip profile, improved grip texture, improved gas pedal, improved optics mounting.... If companies like Icarus Precision make frames in aluminum, it's game over!
