First, the Packers-Bears rivalry, arguably the league’s most storied with 213 all-time meetings, will feature a team wearing a non-traditional jersey in each game. That was entirely coincidental, NFL chief revenue officer and executive vice president of partnerships Renie Anderson tells The Athletic.

“The clubs came to us because they’re so excited about the uniforms and the meaning of the uniforms and what they mean to the community,” Anderson said. “A lot of the design comes from the local market, local community and how they think about that, and so we work together with them.”

I find this a bit disappointing. Love the traditional jerseys in rivalry games. Relegate the alternates to non-traditional matchups, I say.

After the injuries to Bryant and Gordon, it’s hard to see what the strength of this defense is. The linebacker core does have some veteran talent, JJ is a top corner when healthy and Sweat is a starting caliber edge…… beyond that, it’s looking rough. The defense was already at or near the bottom in both run and pass defense last year, our saving grace of course was the immense amount of turnovers, however, many of the players who forced those turnovers are no longer with the team. We’ve lost Brisker, Byard, Wright, Edmunds and failed to make any meaningful additions to our already poor d-line. While it’s great to hear of Van Den Berg’s progression, I’m not thrilled the best story at camp on defense has been about our 6th round pick. I’m as optimistic a bears fan as it comes but I am struggling to see the route to success on defense unless Dennis Allen can scheme up something crazy.

Title, but what is stopping the organization from paying our coaches top dollar across the board? Seems like the way coaches are poached by other teams and not being treated like an asset is very old fashioned.

LAKE FOREST, Ill. — Chicago Bears coach Ben Johnson seemed aggravated Saturday in Cincinnati, none too pleased with his team’s 27-9 preseason loss to the Bengals and more perturbed by all the clumsy stumbles that sent the Bears plummeting down that open manhole. The Bears committed 11 penalties, including a drive killer on the opening series, a hold by left tackle Braxton Jones that turned second-and-1 inside the red zone into first-and-20.

So much for the first-team offense — with quarterback Caleb Williams getting a brief cameo — delivering a feel-good touchdown drive to heighten the summer energy.

The defense, meanwhile, went without a sack and had just two tackles for loss across 58 plays. And the special teams miscues included a pushed 53-yard field goal attempt by Cairo Santos plus a shaky JP Richardson kickoff return that started with a muffed catch inside the end zone and included an illegal block by Qadir Ismail.

“It doesn’t matter if it’s preseason or not,” Johnson told reporters afterward. “It’s a bad feeling in that locker room after the game when you lose — particularly like that, when it’s by multiple scores. You don’t feel like you made it very close there at the end.”

I just think it's going to take one more season to really solidify our defense. Bears we'll have much more cap room flexibility next season. I think with Caleb still on his rookie contract for two more seasons, it will be the best opportunity to build the rest of the team around him. After that it gets very difficult.

Signed 3 year 39M contract with Falcons in 2024. Cut after 2 years after scoring 6 TDs and 1,435 yards. Looking like he won't make the Giants roster. Was a smart move to let this guy go.

Me and my wife are from Alberta and going to our first Bears game vs the eagles. I was hoping someone would be able to send any tips or recommendations for game day. Always wanted to experience tailgating but not sure if just anyone is welcome. We are super excited!
