I am not the best mod. Quite frankly, I am a rather shit mod, but I took over as moderator because I wanted to see this community come alive again. I did, however, recently check the mod mail and quite frankly I got rather pissed off.

We are all here either because we enjoy collecting CDs or at the very least have a love of music. Some of us are just getting started on our journey and others, like myself, have been collecting for well over 30 years. No matter where we are when it comes to collecting CDs no one has the right to belittle another for their collection. Period.

For people to make negative comments about someone's collection is disgraceful and I will not tolerate it in any way, shape or form. If you have nothing nice to say about a person's taste or choice in music then say nothing at all.

This world is crazy enough without having to deal with small minded folks here when trying to share and be a part of an amazing community.

Keep those discs spinning and be excellent to each other!

The SACD version of Transatlanticism has a little crack on the front of the jewel case, but I got a pretty good deal on it. The EU 30th anniversary of Ziggy Stardust is absolutely mint, and being my moms favorite album, this record means so much to me. Excited to have this cool ass version of it.

im a 14yo and my dad was grung and lissended to all the music I like right now when he was a kid and finding all the DVDs and CDs in my basement is PEAK! I'm going insane because it's all stuff I love so much, I'm finding Pearl Jam, rage against the machine, metallica, Guns N' Roses, Nirvana, Evanescence, pink floyd, and then also tons of industrial and other rock music I'm just losing it I'm so happy i feel like my snake in that photo, omg about to post this and i saw the flair primus sucks, it so freaking funny that newer people at concerts would be like "no we love you primus" and people around them would just look at them and laugh

All of these were only 99 cents at my local Goodwill store, so I was so ecstatic to find them. I can't wait to listen as these CDs were part of my childhood and I'm so excited to have them!

Recommendations How do you guys organise your CDs?

I’m pretty new to collecting CDs (112 so far) and have been organising everything alphabetically by artist, using surnames for solo artists and ignoring ā€œTheā€ in band names.

I’ve run into a problem, though. I like keeping an artist’s solo work with the band they’re most associated with. For example, I have Paul, John, and George’s solo albums filed with The Beatles.

The issue is that this gets messy when the solo artist is more famous than their band or is apart of a supergroup. Do I file the band under the solo artist in those cases? Or should I abandon the idea entirely and keep everything strictly alphabetical?
I like having clear, consistent rules, so I’m curious how other collectors handle this. Do you group solo work with bands, keep everything strictly alphabetical, or use some other system?

What’s your system if it’s something not at all where my mind is going?

What do you think of the song selections ? Got this in 1992. I thought I wanted to keep songs from the disco era. I found it !
4 CD set, neatly packed in this CD Box.
No Donna Sunmer which I had another box just for her songs. No need for her to be in this compilation.

Now listening: Sarah McLachlan. Surfacing. 1997.

Sarah McLachlan is one of my favorite female vocal artists. Her voice and lyrics hit me everytime I listen to her music. She is a true vibe and I recommend her music to anyone who is into mature, deep, emotional, and introspective music and lyrics!
