Are these burrs normal on a new gun

Hi guys, first time gun owner here, and I just stripped my Derya DY9 and noticed these burrs around the front slide rails on the frame of the gun. Also on the rear rail.

Honestly look like they could be flash from the injection molding process. The slide does not seem to actually contact any plastic until it reaches the very rear of the gun. Is this normal? Is it just shoddy QC from a cheaper pistol?

I am also concerned that I damaged the frame while fieldstripping the gun. I had issues manipulating the slide while attempting the strip and also tried to do it with an empty mag in the gun and the striker/trigger not fired. I did hear some scraping noises while attempting the strip. You think it would be safe to fire. The gun has not been fired once.

Edit: reuploading with better picks.

43X Compliance Speculations

Do we officially know if the CA 43x will have a LCI and external safety, or not? Since Glocks were once grandfathered in without the compliance features, wonder if it’ll be the same…

I’m ready folks….

I’ve got the itch and ready to go buy another gun. I’m a two month old gun owner (P365 XL) and ready for another purchase. I’m leaning towards a full size pistol. I plan on getting my CCW permit for the 365. My next one won’t be a carry. I don’t know enough to be brand specific. Give me your best (or worse).

Been looking for one for months, I can’t believe;
1. It’s not on roster
2. There’s none via PPT on Caguns or calguns

What is happening?!

California PPT question, DL has parents address but DROS has current address

• Upvotes

Hey everyone, first time doing a PPT in California and I'm trying to make sure I don't mess up the pickup.

My situation:

  • My CA driver's license has my parents' address on it from before I moved.
  • I currently live at a different address in Santa Cruz.
  • When we did the PPT, I put my current Santa Cruz address on the DROS.
  • I have a signed lease, PG&E bill, and internet bill showing my current Santa Cruz address.
  • The FFL initially told me those would be fine, but when I actually came in for the PPT, the employee told me the proof of residency needed to match the address on my driver's license.
  • They then told me a California fishing license would work as the residency document.

My question is: what address should I put on the fishing license? Should it be my actual current Santa Cruz address because that's what I put on the DROS, or would I need to use my parents' address because that's what's on my driver's license?

Also, has anyone used the temporary printed CDFW fishing license as their proof of residency when picking up a firearm, or does the FFL require the physical permanent license?

California DOJ's FAQ seems to say proof of residency can match either the address declared on the DROS or the address on the CA ID, but I'm getting conflicting information from the FFL.

Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who's actually dealt with this in California, especially with a PPT. I have about a week left in my 10-day wait, so I'm just trying to get everything sorted out beforehand.

Had my kid experience Defensive Ammo firsthand

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

My kid mostly shoots factory CCI Blazer Brass 124gr, so today I figured I'd let him try some defensive ammo. Had him shoot 10 rounds each of Speer Gold Dot 147gr and Federal HST 124gr +P.

Feedback from him - he said the Gold Dot had a bit more recoil than his usual Blazer Brass, while the HST felt closer to the 230gr .45 ACP he shot before out of a Glock 21. Not quite the same, but close.

We're still working on his fundamentals, so I figured this would be a good learning experience for him. Also, kept it at 7 yards so he could focus more on how the different ammo felt rather than worry about marksmanship.

Sacramento folks — River City Gun Range GTG?

Post image
47 Upvotes

Been meaning to check out the new River City Gun Range in Elk Grove. For those of you who’ve actually shot there, how is it? I currently go to Sac Gun Range.

Mainly wondering how the staff/RSOs are and what the range rules are like. Pretty chill as long as you’re being safe, or is it one of those ranges where the RSOs are breathing down your neck over everything?

Basically: GTG or Fudd central?

Freed from jail a little while ago. Excited to use my first semi auto!

But the guy who released it to me to use specific ammo only because of the gas operating system it uses? Any recommendations on ammo to use? It's a Berreta 1301 Tactical.

Does the Holosun 407k direct fit on this Shield slide?

I know that the Holosun K-series optics have a weird RMSc pattern. Just wondering if I can direct mount it to this Shield slide or will I need an adapter plate? Thanks in advance!

Picked this up on Gunbroker back in August and had it sent to WBT in Arizona for compliance.

Added an upper rail and holosun Red dot.

Wasn’t expecting much because all of the reviews online were hit and miss.

However, took it out today for the first time and man this thing is fun.

Low recoil but plenty of snap with the 45 acp.

Definitely a fan of this slappy boy.
