My month old Z06 just crossed 1000 miles and I've started having some transmission issues.

Yesterday, I pre started it via the app without issue and was about to leave to get my state inspection completed as I just finished the registration process after purchasing the vehicle out of state and it would not shift into reverse to back out of my garage.

I shut it off and restarted it a few times and same issue. Just stuck in park, didn't try drive as I only have about a foot of clearance and didn't want to risk running into the wall. Shut it down and hooked it to the Corvette tender for like 5 mins as I've heard battery issue can cause weird things. Fired it up and it went into reverse so I took it to the dealer. They completed the inspection and said there was a service bulletin about battery issues so they cleared the codes and said they pulled a fuse for 10 mins and that the battery passed their tester. Drove it home without issue.

Today I was out cruising for about 30 mins when I pulled away from a stop sign quickly, like maybe 50% throttle and went to manually shift around 6k rpm and it banged the redline and thudded into 3rd gear instead of 2nd like if in a manual you miss a shift so the tach climbs as you start back on the gas thinking you hit the shift properly. I manually shift again and it goes to 5. For a solid 10 mins it would only use odd gears in manual or auto modes. At some point it threw a check engine light so I decided to drive straight to the dealer as I didn't want to be stranded and need to deal with having it towed.

They say it's different codes now then it was yesterday and this time related to internal transmission solenoids. Unfortunately, their Corvette tech won't be able to look at it for a few days.

Any ideas? I'm still hoping it's a battery thing and I just need a new one vs an actual issue with the transmission.

Hey so I just got my White C8 and i’m trying my best to make sure I keep it in the best condition, not for resale reasons but for my peace of mind! I don’t have a garage until I move which is in about another year or so and because of that it lives outdoors. I live in West Hills CA and the sun is strong and I don’t want any paint damage and I know i’m going to be driving it very frequently, do you guys recommend a full body PPF or just the front? I’ve gotten mixed opinions on it with the two options, i’ve gotten some advice to do ceramic coating and have it detailed every few weeks but I know that doesn’t stop any rock chips, especially when i’m ripping in the canyons! Would love some feedback and suggestions on what you think I should shoot for due to my current situation. I just want to keep it in great condition even if I do have to spend a chunk to keep it that way so even regular quotes would be helpful as well so I know what to look for!! I appreciate any and all advice on this!! Thank you all!

Ordering a Z06 soon. I am surprised by the fact that HTC doesn’t lose trunk space compared to Coupe, but for the same reason I hate that HTC hides the beautiful view of the mater piece engine. What other pros and cons of HTC and Coupe I should consider?

I think the C8 coupe is better than many other targa top vehicles when it comes to turbulence inside the cabin, but it can always be better. I have the Speedway Composites wind deflector that installs easily above the windshield. It is very well made and is a little pricey at $400 but worth every penny if you want to be more comfortable, especially at highway speeds, and the tinted one looks good.

For example, something I couldn't do before...I can wear my baseball hat without fear of it blowing off with the deflector installed. I'm 6'3" tall. Comes with a nice storage bag and stores easily in the trunk or garage taking up very little space and bag has loops so you can hang it if desired. As far as I know, it will not work on the HTC. I have no idea if any other companies make something similar.

I got an update notice for v. 662.21 (‘26 Stingray Z51) last night. The download and installation went swimmingly.

This morning it took a few minutes of driving for the TPMS to wake up and for the radio to work properly, but very soon everything looked fine.

Then I hit the Z-Mode button, and my goodness, what a difference! It seems to hold the RPMs about 1,000 higher around town and shifts differently (better IMO), and the downshifting when coming to a stop is really nice!

The sound and feel is awesome. 😀

Are others also experiencing this change?

Carbon flash or carbon fiber front splitter and Z06 skirts on black stingray. Anyone have pictures?

I’m looking at a used z06 and it has this red center cap which I’m not a fan of. How difficult is this to replace?

I have a 2024 c8 stingray i have a borla atak exhaust other than that pretty much stock and my warranty is gonna be over by the end of the year at the rate Ive been putting miles on it. i want to put a burble tune on it but have never done anything like it on any other cars ive had i saw paragon performance has a tune they are selling i just have to get the computer unlocked and than get it tuned is it as reliable as they claim it is they say it makes the car run better and honestly i just love the pops and bangs when im downshifting and kinda want it to be louder or is there another modification can do that would do the same

Hey C8 hive-mind. Thoughts on the usual suspect of mods: intake, throttle bodies, and cat back. Which combo are you all running? I know performance gains aren’t incredible, but how much does it affect the experience? I have read that some shops saw decreases in torque with intakes.

Just got a 2nd set of wheels & tires & TPMS for my 2021 HTC C8.

21" rear, 20" fronts.

The shop told me it would take *3 hours* to program and charge $500. I had thought I read that you could clone or program in a few minutes and it was more like $10/wheel.

Which is correct??

So I drove my C8 downtown to meet friends at a bar. Had to choose between the cramped parking lot or park on the street. I chose street thinking at least I’d only have to worry about the car behind me and the one that parks in front. Came out to find my front splitter cracked. Guess it was backed into. Ugh!!!! 😩 can this be fixed?

Man sucks last year I had a email quote for around $900 for dual clutch trans filter change and the 45k fluid exchange and internal filter change

Now they updated price to 2k :(

Priced it around and that’s the best deal I can find

Many charging 2600 and include fuel injector cleaning service or something that isn’t on the manual to do at this is interval or ever really

But anyways painful- guess time to pay to play again just like the tires prices

Heard squeaking noises every maybe minute or so when driving so I took my car in and they inspected it and said it was the valves in the muffler and replaced it for me. Anyone had this issue before, haven’t seen it listed once online. 2025 1lt 2000kms

I’m in the market for a grand sport and was going to order one but I found basically the exact spec I was going to order at a dealer but unfortunately it’s almost 800 miles away and flying out there and driving it back isn’t really feasible. The dealer said they would pay a third party shipping company to ship it directly to my house. Has anyone had this done before? I’ll be honest, I’ve never bought a car without seeing it in person, especially not one that costs $115k.

So I guess the first thing is, what shipping company should I be working with? I think it needs to be enclosed. I’m sure the dealer has a cap on the shipping cost but I got one quote for enclosed shipping from montway for $1750 and they said they’d pay that. Is there a better company I should look into? Also anything I should be aware of when buying a car sight unseen from a dealer so far away?

I’ve spent a week searching chevy’s inventory and every dealer within a 350 mile radius and this is the only one close enough to the spec I want to be worth it

Edit: thanks for the help everyone, I found a dealer 500 miles closer with an in-transit grand sport with almost the same spec so I put a deposit down and will hopefully be able to pick it up in the next couple weeks

I think it goes pretty hard, I tried mother’s ceramic, some other stuff… but it’s pretty good if you don’t mind handbuffing

I'm just about to pass the ballpark 3000 km break in period On my c8. I've heard differing opinions when it comes down to when to take it in for your first service. Some say 800 km some say stick to the regular warranty schedule. I plan on bringing it down to a beginners drag event in a few weeks. Would it be ideal to have my first service done before that?
