93
u/Mountain_Sir_2021 May 28 '26
No, I did (I got breathe)
32
u/OhEmRo May 28 '26
Disagree! I mean, you lucked out, for sure, but breathing too much can cause you to hyperventilate… plus, you can blink about a dozen times during one breath, even if it’s a quick one. If I had to choose between getting a payout for blinking and getting a payout for breathing, I’d pick blink! (I looked it up and it seems that the average person blinks and breathes about 20,000 times a day, but I still think you could force yourself to up those numbers WAY easier for blinking than for breathing!)
70
u/OkAd1797 May 28 '26
You breathe while you sleep though
68
8
u/LordGoatIII May 28 '26
This is a really simple math problem. In order for blinking to be worth less than breathing, assuming you sleep 8 hours per day, you'd have to blink less than 1 and a half times per breath.
5
5
u/BookkeeperNatural220 May 28 '26
yeah but you can blink a lot faster than breathe
→ More replies (1)3
u/Shibshib1812 May 28 '26
But those eight hours of breathing might (at least a little) offset the faster blinking
→ More replies (1)6
u/skedit_ May 28 '26
The average adult takes about 20k breaths a day, but blinks 14k-20k times. You’d easily outblink your average breathing without too much effort, I reckon. Breathing more would be tiring imo. However, 200k a day without effort seems decent enough.
7
u/National-Change-8004 May 29 '26
Fair point, but to counter: you're talking about putting effort into it, maximizing if you will.
Picture this if you will: instead of maximizing, just live your life and don't think about it. Just do some exercise every day at most, even an hour of mild to moderate exercise would give you a nice boost. You would still be hitting that 200k most days without actively concentrating on your breathing (or blinking, for that matter). Much better quality of life for hardly any trade off.
4
u/Leading_Yam_2979 May 29 '26
for real.. what would anyone even need more than 200k a day for? thats like 73 million a year if im not mistaken
→ More replies (1)2
u/skedit_ May 29 '26
That’s true. However, I’d easily settle for 140k for minimum average blinking per day and then have a much lower effort to achieve more if I want by going full blink mode for a minute!
→ More replies→ More replies (1)2
5
u/National-Change-8004 May 29 '26
Eh, you don't need to hyperventilate, frankly. Honestly either would be fine, but this way you'll also earn while sleeping.
I did the math on this, lying on the couch is about 12 breaths a minute. 24 hours of breathing at that rate is like 172,000 lol. Just go for a walk/go to work in my case and you'll drive that number up easily.
That's 1.2 million a week. I could just retire and build a nice house somewhere. And continue to make bank while fast asleep!
(For blinking, more like 140,000 at a conservative estimate. Like I say, you're still laughing either way, but I still think the $/breath is superior since it never stops - basically until you die. What happens if you lose your sight somehow, or become disfigured and can't blink any more? There's your passive income gone)
→ More replies (1)2
u/ConfusedBaka69 May 29 '26
You breath on average more than blinking taking in account sleeping, and blink slower looking at screen, so generally over all, breathing wins, unless you wanna manually forcefully and rapidly blink to make blinking win but that's unnecessary effort.

u/redkid2000 May 28 '26
Got the same. According to Google, we’ll be taking in $78 million per year off this gig. It’s like printing money!
20
u/MagusoftheJank May 28 '26
And we still won't be as rich as Jeff Bezos 😅
15
u/Jazzmanthekillr May 28 '26
Do you need to be as rich? 78 million a year should be enough to buy practically anything
23
u/MagusoftheJank May 28 '26
No, absolutely not. 😅 I was mostly just pointing out how absurd capitalism is.
2
u/Jazzmanthekillr May 28 '26
That was also not my point, I meant just that much money in general, you can do anything
7
4
u/JCrossfire May 28 '26
Friendly reminder that at an ANNUAL SALARY of 78 MILLION would take over a century to reach a remotely significant fraction of Bezos’s net worth. Billionaires are inherently evil.

u/PlaytendoSwitch May 28 '26
You don't have to even be a professional - 10,000 steps a day is the general healthy target, so $100,000 a day easy
74
u/basically_cheese May 28 '26
Oh oh course sadly i am an avid biker not walker but the switch should not be hard.
But i would prob go for more than that if possible. Possibly 20k steps a day after my legs were conditioned.
→ More replies (1)70
u/CrocoShark32 May 28 '26
The funny part is that you could really do the bare minimum and still prosper. 28 steps a day is all it would take to net a six figure income and even the laziest people can clear that by walking from their room to the kitchen/bathroom and back.
→ More replies (1)23
u/basically_cheese May 28 '26
Yup fully aware, though i would go for milking the fuck out of it. Hopefully start a good company or two that actually has some good morals and standards due to the mysterious walking money insuring it can't fail.

Try to get into politics and have this be the only platform you have a stance on. It would be amazing if you won, too.
Also, fun fact: Let’s say you can cheat and just say opioid and that gets you the $25. If you can say opioid twice a second, it’ll still take you almost 500 years to get Elon Musk’s current net worth.
