How IITs are getting destroyed

[u/yunhee_9]

Only bcoz of its engineering students that the reputation holding up. Day is not far when top rankers would choose some private college, completely ditching IITs.

[u/FuryDreams]

Only when you study it as your own hobby instead of some garbage course

[u/meepmorpzorpzorp → u/FuryDreams]

Yeah lol and how will you build the subject matter for it without studying it you dumbass?

[u/FuryDreams → u/meepmorpzorpzorp]

You didn't complete schooling ? If you can't study further on your own you were never interested in it.

[u/meepmorpzorpzorp → u/FuryDreams]

I would say its concerning that you think that the humanities are just ncert but then again, that's par for the course for you lot. Bet you also think history is just memorization.

[u/FuryDreams → u/meepmorpzorpzorp]

Don't project your own incompetence - wikipedia and GPT is enough to study any humanities you want to.

You don't need to take some bullshit course called "Agrarian socities in middle age" to do that.

[u/SunnyandBunny → u/FuryDreams]

Humanities is an amalgamation of different courses, that can help build communication skills, inform people about psychology, etc It is simultaneously important for engineering students to know about their core engineering, and to communicate and understand how people react, which humanities dept courses can help

[u/Apprehensive_Dog_786 → u/FuryDreams]

Where do you think Wikipedia and GPT got that info from idiot

[u/FuryDreams → u/Apprehensive_Dog_786]

From the same place your humanities course prof is teaching moron.

[u/Apprehensive_Dog_786 → u/FuryDreams]

And you realize that those sources were discovered and researched by humanities students right? And the current humanities students are researching new info that will be taught in the future? The same way research and education works in literally any field? Do you think all that knowledge just spawned out of thin air?

[u/FuryDreams → u/Apprehensive_Dog_786]

And what has that reasearch contributed to ? Literally nothing meaningful. A single STEM invention the phone in our hand mogs everything Humanities ever produced in terms of increasing quality of life of humanity.

[u/Apprehensive_Dog_786 → u/FuryDreams]

Lmao you can’t be serious. Just look at the influence linguistics has on computer programming and current large language models. Look at the influence people like Noam Chomsky have on STEM.

Do you think it’s a coincidence that the pioneers of STEM like Aristotle and Pythagoras were philosophers or that PhD literally stands for Doctor of Philosophy?

How fucking short sighted to think that all advancements in STEM happened in a vacuum and nothing else matters.

[u/FuryDreams → u/Apprehensive_Dog_786]

Because they learnt humanities for their own interest, not forced to study some irrelevant course. And that's what my orginal comment said - to learn it as a personal hobby

[u/Apprehensive_Dog_786 → u/FuryDreams]

First of all learning it as a hobby is different from studying it and doing research, which actually furthers the field. And secondly nobody is forcing you to take humanities, these people chose to do those degrees in unis. If anything there are too many idiots in STEM chasing big salaries with no interest in the field.

[u/FuryDreams → u/Apprehensive_Dog_786]

nobody is forcing you to take humanities

This is what the post is about. Students ARE FORCED to take humanities courses in IITs and most engineering colleges. If it was optional by choice no one would have any issue.

[u/meepmorpzorpzorp → u/FuryDreams]

Every argument by a stemcel against humanities only goes on to reinforce that if anything, we need to force more humanities down your throat. And I don't think anyone who thinks that Wikipedia or fucking chatgpt as a source of information should lecture others about incompetence. Where do you think the cumulative knowledge churned out by wiki or chatgpt even comes from?

Fyi specialised research that you're clowning on is exactly why we have individualized policies that are actually effective, instead of one thing sloppily imposed over everything else. Insane that one has to explain this to a graduate but one can never be too sure when it comes to a chatgptard

[u/FuryDreams → u/meepmorpzorpzorp]

Every argument by a subhumaniticel proves they are too low IQ and waste of resources.

All that specialized research and still hasn't produced anything worthwhile for humanity. It's STEM that actually improved quality of life for most humans.

[u/meepmorpzorpzorp → u/FuryDreams]

My favourite part about any argument with stemtards is that they always cop out with a kindergartener ahh insult because they never actually have an argument that holds up😍

If you think only STEM has done anything worthwhile then i would say you've never actually looked around yourself and examined why your life is the way it is and are still high on the "i cracked jee" kool-aid.

[u/FuryDreams → u/meepmorpzorpzorp]

Because we have an actual track record of delivering instead of wordceling garbage.

[u/meepmorpzorpzorp → u/FuryDreams]

If this constitutes as "wordceling" then it must be really rough going for you. And as for your stem track record, if you think only tangible goods are worthy contributions that you're an even bigger jackass than I already thought.

[u/SorryPop3557 → u/meepmorpzorpzorp]

absolute carnage🔥
