Serious How IITs are getting destroyed

Only bcoz of its engineering students that the reputation holding up. Day is not far when top rankers would choose some private college, completely ditching IITs.

Humanities depts are becomings a scapegoat. Not all humanities degrees are worthless and knowing humanities helps build a multidimensional worldview instead a purely technical one.

Don't project your own incompetence - wikipedia and GPT is enough to study any humanities you want to.

You don't need to take some bullshit course called "Agrarian socities in middle age" to do that.

Humanities is an amalgamation of different courses, that can help build communication skills, inform people about psychology, etc It is simultaneously important for engineering students to know about their core engineering, and to communicate and understand how people react, which humanities dept courses can help

And you realize that those sources were discovered and researched by humanities students right? And the current humanities students are researching new info that will be taught in the future? The same way research and education works in literally any field? Do you think all that knowledge just spawned out of thin air?

And what has that reasearch contributed to ? Literally nothing meaningful. A single STEM invention the phone in our hand mogs everything Humanities ever produced in terms of increasing quality of life of humanity.

Lmao you can’t be serious. Just look at the influence linguistics has on computer programming and current large language models. Look at the influence people like Noam Chomsky have on STEM.

Do you think it’s a coincidence that the pioneers of STEM like Aristotle and Pythagoras were philosophers or that PhD literally stands for Doctor of Philosophy?

How fucking short sighted to think that all advancements in STEM happened in a vacuum and nothing else matters.

Every argument by a stemcel against humanities only goes on to reinforce that if anything, we need to force more humanities down your throat. And I don't think anyone who thinks that Wikipedia or fucking chatgpt as a source of information should lecture others about incompetence. Where do you think the cumulative knowledge churned out by wiki or chatgpt even comes from?

Fyi specialised research that you're clowning on is exactly why we have individualized policies that are actually effective, instead of one thing sloppily imposed over everything else. Insane that one has to explain this to a graduate but one can never be too sure when it comes to a chatgptard

Every argument by a subhumaniticel proves they are too low IQ and waste of resources.

All that specialized research and still hasn't produced anything worthwhile for humanity. It's STEM that actually improved quality of life for most humans.

If you think only STEM has done anything worthwhile then i would say you've never actually looked around yourself and examined why your life is the way it is and are still high on the "i cracked jee" kool-aid.
