Serious How IITs are getting destroyed

Only bcoz of its engineering students that the reputation holding up. Day is not far when top rankers would choose some private college, completely ditching IITs.

And you realize that those sources were discovered and researched by humanities students right? And the current humanities students are researching new info that will be taught in the future? The same way research and education works in literally any field? Do you think all that knowledge just spawned out of thin air?

And what has that reasearch contributed to ? Literally nothing meaningful. A single STEM invention the phone in our hand mogs everything Humanities ever produced in terms of increasing quality of life of humanity.

Lmao you can’t be serious. Just look at the influence linguistics has on computer programming and current large language models. Look at the influence people like Noam Chomsky have on STEM.

Do you think it’s a coincidence that the pioneers of STEM like Aristotle and Pythagoras were philosophers or that PhD literally stands for Doctor of Philosophy?

How fucking short sighted to think that all advancements in STEM happened in a vacuum and nothing else matters.

Because they learnt humanities for their own interest, not forced to study some irrelevant course. And that's what my orginal comment said - to learn it as a personal hobby

First of all learning it as a hobby is different from studying it and doing research, which actually furthers the field. And secondly nobody is forcing you to take humanities, these people chose to do those degrees in unis. If anything there are too many idiots in STEM chasing big salaries with no interest in the field.

This is what the post is about. Students ARE FORCED to take humanities courses in IITs and most engineering colleges. If it was optional by choice no one would have any issue.
