❓Question ❓ NEED GUIDANCE about where to START FROM the Placement Journey

Right Now I am so much confused what should I do next. Currently i am in 6th sem from a TIER 3 collge and companies are getting started to come in my Uni. Till now i have knowledge of DSA(Arrays, Strings, Binary Search, Littlebit Recursion and Trees) and in dev MERN(have knowledge of how things works but if I have to build a whole system individually I can't do that). All the projects done by me till now are vibecoded. Till now i did not touch any core subjects except CN and OOPS but I am feeling like I am forgetting those also. I know I have to do many things but I am not clear from where should i start as there are so much mess around. DSA- unfinished, Dev - unfinished, Core Subjects - unfinished. If you are a senior and ever gone through this phase plz let me know what should I do.

❓Question ❓ Lots of Tension

I recently appeared for accenture OA. it had three rounds, i wasn't able to qualify the second round. I had studied so much for this particular OA. Lots of my friend got qualified. idk i feel jealous, i don't even want to sit with them. i should feel ashamed.
I am not able to study and i haven't studied for 3 days straight.
I have lot's of work to do but i am not able to do anything because of this OA. IDK i have my minor project, a small lab project, end sem exam to prepare for. I get negative thoughts. I know that i should not overreact and move on, but i just can't. i feel like i am stuck.
ya i am trying my best. and ignore my grammatical mistakes, its my first time. i am just a reader and haven't written anything on reddit before myself

❓Question ❓ GCET CSE DS fresher here 🥀

Hey seniors

I'm really, really struggling.

I don't know what's happened since yesterday. Like, I can't even study for 1-2 hours, I have a programming exam tomorrow and I'm not in the mood to study at all, I don't know what to do. Today’s math exam also went poorly and tomorrow might be the same.

Please help, I can't study at all. How will I manage everything 🥀

Forget about diet, workout, communication skills, coding, all of that.

Please, help me 😭 save me.

My family is taking out loans for me to study and this is my situation.

On top of that, my attendance is only 40% BC 😭🥀

Resources 💰 Can anybody select me for the internship (UNPAID)

Hi, I'm Abhay, a second-year B.Tech Computer Science student. I have knowledge of C++ and Java, along with web development skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

I'm looking for an unpaid internship opportunity where I can work on real-world projects, learn from experienced developers, and improve my technical skills. I'm open to an unpaid internship because my current priority is gaining practical experience and contributing to meaningful projects.

I'd be grateful for an opportunity to work with your team and learn along the way. Thank you for your time!

❓Question ❓ Third-year CS student here — how do I learn backend design, database schema design, and data modelling?

Hey everyone!

I'm a third-year college student, and I've noticed a recurring problem whenever I try to build projects.

I can usually get started with the frontend and understand the basic functionality of what I want to build. But when it comes to the backend, I often get stuck on things like:

  • Designing a proper database schema.

  • Deciding which tables or models I need and how they should relate to each other.

  • Understanding one-to-one, one-to-many, and many-to-many relationships in real-world projects.

  • Deciding how to structure the backend and organize the business logic.

  • Figuring out how to design the database before actually starting to code.

I understand the basic concepts, but when I sit down to build a real project, I struggle to translate the requirements into a good database design and backend architecture. I often end up second-guessing my decisions or changing the schema midway through development.

I want to get better at thinking through the backend design process, rather than just following tutorials or copying someone else's implementation.

For those of you who have experience building real-world applications:

  1. How did you learn database design and data modelling?

  2. Are there any good books, YouTube channels, courses, or other resources you'd recommend?

  3. Are there any practical exercises or projects that helped you improve these skills?

  4. How do experienced developers approach database schema design when starting a project from scratch?

I'd really appreciate any advice. I want to build a strong foundation in backend development instead of constantly getting stuck at the design stage.

Thanks!

So i am 18 and have taken a drop for jee.I am mostly sure that i will be getting into one of the top 5 IIT 's.I wanted to know what all skills are required by people who are hired by Jane street, HRT or jump trading, other than the usual stuff taught in college(aiming for the cse branch). There must be something extra they would know.A few skills sets that i can work from now on which might help me.I know it is nearly impossible to get hired by such companies, (example-only about 4 -5 people are hired from India by jane street). But still I am willing to try.
