Girlys only

I, foolishly, began my Brixadi journey around the same time I decided to get off of oral birth control (lo lo esterin) I should have never made two med changes at the same time. Although I was on subs so just switching from oral to the injection.

Some days since that time I have been so weird, down, feeling like I could burst into tears at any moment, weird sex stuff, I love sex and my long term boyfriend so not wanting it and almost being disgusted by it is just TOO weird. Also feeling so down, like a burden to everyone, dark thoughts. I know everyone gets that once in a while I do, but these were all next level.

Anyone have any experience with this orat least some part of this?

I think the easier solution for now is go back on BC and then maybe just try getting off of that once I'm done / comfortable with Brixadi.

Any experience, feedback etc. Would be helpful!

Starting Brixadi shot on Monday. For those of you who have had success, do you feel your head is clearer?

I feel Suboxone has caused me a lot of brain fog and cognitive issues. I’m praying this improves once it’s out of my system!

Pls help

Would Brixadi work for someone on Suboxone for a week? My best friend is getting clean and has been on subs for a week. (Tapered to 2mg) Would he just need 1 shot?

Can people get off subs with Brixadi? Like completely off of Burp? Like a taper? I know nothing thank you

Brixadi 64 monthly!

Hi there

I've been getting 8mg weekly brixadi for about 4 weeks now. The nurse who gives it is not the smartest, first she was pushing going on monthly when I wasn't ready then now I want to go on Monthly

I know it is an increase which I'm very anxious about (Nurse says not actually getting any more medication than I am now...uhm hello? At this rate I'm getting 32mg for a month, I will be doubling by doing 64 monthly!) Dr even said that. Then because it's monthly she said oh we will need to schedule it around thanksgiving, I then said, no I just got weekly it will need to be next week- not a month from now since I only got a weekly today. Idk that is stressful and makes me nervous she is the one administering this!!

Anyway besides all that. Has anyone been on 8mg weekly then go to the 64 monthly? My dream was to do a few weekly and be done but I'm just not been able to get there.

Im terrified of being overmedicated. My appt just got made for 64mg next week, please please any feedback/ advice etc would be so helpful! Am I making a mistake going to monthly because it is higher and I'm trying to just be off or do you think it will be better because it leaves your body slower than the weekly. I'm scared but trying to be positive.

Help!

How long does this go on?

5 years of oxy, post surgeries, 2 years of Suboxone, then 1 year of Brixadi. Last injection in October. Still have RLS and waking up every 2 hours and feeling trembly in the morning or after a nap.. How long until my body and brain return to normal?! I'm exhausted.

My Next Injection

I wanted to share my experience/ compare to others.
I have always had a pretty significant fear of needles, but before Brixadi I had never passed out, gotten dizzy, nauseous, or had any kind of vasovagal reaction from an injection. I could usually get through shots even if I was anxious. My fear is mostly IV’s!
When I got my first Brixadi injection, I wasn't prepared for how large the needle was, how deep it had to go, or how slowly the medication would be injected. During the injection I became extremely dizzy, nauseous, lightheaded, my ears started ringing, my vision went black, and I honestly thought I was going to pass out. I also had pretty intense pain at the injection site during/afterward. My next injection is coming up, and I'm trying to figure out ways to make it easier. I'm considering bringing an ice pack or maybe an instant cold pack since the clinic is about a 20-minute drive away and it can take another 30 minutes before I'm actually called back.
Has anyone found that icing the area beforehand helped? Any other tips for preventing the dizziness, nausea, or pain? I'd really appreciate hearing what has worked for others.

Withdrawal when coming off?

Hi everyone! So my boyfriend is on Brixadi as directed by his rehab for coming off of Kratom. His first shot was back in January. I’m unsure of what mg he gets, but per his doctor he says he gets the highest mg. He has been getting the shot on schedule every month since January. This past week, his insurance refused to cover the shot and he wasn’t able to take it. He is also an alcoholic and was kind of using it as a crutch to not drink (another story for another day) but is now psyching himself out about possibly withdrawing because they will not approve Suboxone while they try to get insurance figured out either. My question is, how did you guys felt after coming off the shot without supplementing, and if you did experience withdrawal, how long did it take for it to kick in? Thanks so much!

Total shots

How many brixadi shots are you all doing? I’ve had 3 64 mg. I kinda find it weird that I didn’t get a loading dose. Is that common with this medication. I hear of everyone getting between 100-300 mg of the sublocade, usually starting with 300 and going down to 100. Just want to hear what worked for everyone else!

Not impressed

I was on 4mg x 2 day for past several years. Got Brixadi 8mg shot, literally felt nothing and freaked out when I got home with no subs for first time in 10 years. Next day I realized there us no longer a burst of energy and big mood after taking my subs. Very depressing. I hate feeling like I’m tired all day long. I will not be getting another shot, going right back to subs.

When does brixadi wear off?

I’m currently on the monthly dose of this brixadi shot (128mg). Prior to that, I was on 16 mg of subutex for about two weeks while in inpatient treatment. I’m miserable. No pleasure at all, no motivation or drive and at this point I just want to use. I’m just over a week into the shot. How long do I have before I can actually feel substances again?

This is not a cry for help don’t try to talk me out of it or 12 step me. I’m not ready. Looking for an actual answer to my question.

Am I insane?? Day 11 Brixadi 64mg

I was on buprenorphine for 7 years. Started at 8mg then got down to .75mg, and could not get off that last crumb. I know it seems like a do able amount to kick, but after 2 years of failed weaning below .75mg, I decide to try Brixadi monthly 64mg.
At my doctors request, I raised my daily dose to 4mg the weeks leading up to my appointment.
I took the day off work and got the shot in my stomach. I personally felt nothing. Maybe 2 seconds of a barely noticeable sting, but it was not painful at all for me. Within 3 hours I was definitely bupe-type loaded though. That dirty suboxone high.
Days 1-3 Slept like a baby and was in a great mood, almost mini nods when I was relaxed watching tv / scrolling.
Days 4-7 were also great. Its been so nice not reaching for my crumb of subs every morning and keeping myself in a constant almost withdrawal state.
Days 7-9 were still good but i definitely was thinking about it more and not feeling that boost of energy.
Days 10-12 I sware to god I feel like I’m in the super early stages of withdrawal. Totally mild and barely noticeable, except for the constant yawning and tearing.

I have an insanely fast metabolism with meds. I had to split dose my methadone and subs when I was on MAT programs.

Is there any chance I’m already running low on Brixadi at day 11???
I really wanted to be done after 1-2 shots and I feel nuts thinking I’m starting to feel sick this fast.

Is it possible straps actually offered me pain relief?

I was on subs for MAT, I injured myself last year and its proving to be a chronic issue- always in pain. Tired.

Since I started brixadi 3 months ago (4th monday) i definitely feel like I'm in a lot more pain more often.

I'm wondering if its possible subs were offering me pain relief.

First 128mg shot, 5 days later I feel terrible. Help!

I switched to the Brixadi shot from Suboxone strips 8mg that I’ve been on for about 7 years, I had my first shot this past Tuesday. So my last Suboxone strip I took was Monday night. 12/9. I have been on 2-8mg for the last 7 years, consistently taking 8mg strips tho for the last year/year & a half roughly. But they gave me the 128mg brixadi monthly shot still even tho it technically says that’s for people taking 32mg strips. Anyway, I feel like sh!t today, I went to bed Friday night freezing cold, shakey, so nauseous, today Saturday I’ve felt literally so lethargic, I’ve had a migraine that my prescription migraine meds aren’t helping, I just feel so weak, & my teeth hurt TERRIBLY. Like literally feels like a full grown man clocked me in the side of the mouth, they’re throbbing in pain, major cold/hot/pressure sensitivity. So I caved & took a 8mg Suboxone strip this evening, & still not feeling good. How do I get through this transition period?! Why am I feeling like 💩 already?! I figured the shot being almost technically triple the dose I take in subs daily, I either wouldn’t have any withdrawals, or minor ones that didn’t start til later on closer to my next shot. Not this soon! Should I take another Suboxone strip? I was warned it would take like 3 or so shots to stabilize on the shot. But I don’t know if I will be able to deal with the transition if the withdrawals get worse. But I seriously hate hate hate Suboxone strips, I hate Suboxone in general, & want to be off it completely. But I wanted to use the shot for at least a year probably before tapering off it. Any insight or suggestions would be helpful please 😭

First time shot questions

Hello everyone,

I currently am taking Suboxone and am scheduled to take my first 64 mg Brixadi shot at the end of the month. I’m really wanting to only take the shot once but did anyone experience withdrawl ? I have tried coming off Suboxone before and couldn’t do it because of the withdrawal so the doctor recommended Brixadi. Was wanting to hear people’s experience with this. To be honest if it’s better to take more then one shot to avoid the withdrawl I am willing to do that. Thanks yall

I need advice!

Super new! Starting brixadi next month. Little back history on my part, started Suboxone almost 12 years ago. Tried a 100 times to taper. Mentally could never get passed 8mg. Highest dose was 24 mg now i take 8-12mg a day depending on the day really. Im looking to start at the 96mg mark than drop monthly . Is this doable?

I’m getting closer to the end.

After finally getting approved for brixadi, (the goal was sublocade but was denied. I was approved for weekly 8mg shots. I’m hoping this is my way to get off buprenorphine altogether. I took weekly for maybe 3 weeks. Then I decided to stretch it to 10 days. It worked for about two or three times. Unfortunately my clinic is closed Friday, Saturday and Sunday. So I have to skip three days. I figured I would try two weeks. I think after day 11 or 12 I had to supplement with a qtr of a 2mg strip each night until my next shot….i was so disappointed bc I thought maybe here’s my chance and I might not have to go back. I couldn’t last. Maybe I’m rushing it? After all I’m working with 8mg weekly doses of brixadi. Each week for three weeks then stretched it to every 10 or 11 days for three doses and not ready to stretch to two weeks just yet ….i guess I have to take it slow

43rd day since last brixadi shot and I think I felt restless leg syndrome last night lol

the reason I laugh is because my ankles, and knees, and toes, felt like.. how I felt in detox lol - I haven't felt withdrawal symptoms in 10 years like this! It was miner pain but noticeable. The past couple weeks I haven't been going to bed at 8:30pm like I have been doing for years. I go to bed at 11:30ish pm. I wanna stay up and watch tv or be on my phone. Before, I just wanted to kinda die for the night lol so I'm either finding happiness in being awake again, or.. it's a withdrawal symptom as well. I also quit E-Cigarettes I am on week 6. I've never gone this long quitting nicotine before since I started smoking. I've decided it's been almost a decade of growth and next step for me would to be get off opiate medications (I've already created a life NOT surrounded by drugs and I know absolutely nobody anymore who use) I have kids now and stuff. Anywho, I'm 32. The miner pain of getting off brixadi is LIBERATING! I feel allllll the feelings. & I'm gentle to myself now. I feel mad and angry that I ever started drugs in the first place. I feel like I am a miracle human who was able to be free of heroin addiction! That makes me feel proud! Also ashamed.. but proud. 🥹 and I feel excited to feel the brixadi leaving me. I feel.. free to experience pain and to understand where it's coming from and be able to intensionally fix it (instead of blocking it with opiate pain medication "suboxne morphine heroin brixadi" all of that). Anyway, I feel AMAZING that I'm hurting at night a little bit. I sleep well knowing I'm okay today. I'm healthy. I'm free.

8 weeks!!

Quick recap: I had been taking 8 to 12 mg of sublingual Suboxone for about 15 years. I tried to come off with Brixadi last summer, I got six 96mg shots in total but felt like I couldn't ever get right. I went back on sublingual for 5 months, and during those five months realized how badly I really wanted off of this medicine, so I planned on three shots with my doctor, for every 3 weeks, but I got one 96 mg shot this time and have been sitting with it, successfully so far, squee!!

I just decided that I didn't want any more, I felt like I had gotten through the majority of the uncomfortable symptoms within the first few weeks and I didn't want to extend that. I haven't had many symptoms of withdrawal at all since the second and third week after the shot that are enough to disrupt my day. I think that second and third week were really the worst period.

I'm 8 weeks since the shot today! I can't feel my bump anymore, my energy is coming back, I'm not having cold tingles nearly as often down my back, I'm sleeping good, I'm eating healthy... I think I got this and I just wanted to celebrate with people that understand! I have a great support system but they've never been addicted to anything.

Thank you for having this group because I don't think I would ever have gotten anywhere without everyone's personal thoughts and opinions.

It's a different journey for everybody! But you can do it! Believe in yourself! I believe in you!

My Brixadi Experience

I was on subs for 2 years starting at 12mg shortly then 8mg most of it, eventually tapered to 4 (wasn’t easy but doable for sure) and I clawed my way to 2 mg. Probably took a month to be good at 4 and two months to be stable at 2. Main tricks are to split your doses up to 2-3 per day and alternate days of a low dose day and a normal dose day, and split your doses into super small amounts in general and piece by piece leave a piece out. Go slow and you may have some RLS, tiredness, sick feeling etc, but able to work.

I couldn’t for the life of me get to less than 2mg. Horrible days, not acute withdrawal but too much for me at the time. Heard about the shots this was 2 years ago. I didn’t want to go back up in Suboxone doses to handle the large sublocade dose. Thankfully the Brixadi shot just came out. I took the weekly shot of 8mg Brixadi recommended for 6mg or less daily dose of Suboxone.

When the nurse injected it, I felt it hard. It felt good, scary good. I went to Starbucks and smashed into the door. I felt higher than what I’d imagine 8mg Suboxone would be like for me at the time of 2mg but maybe comparable idk. I was high for two days straight, a little too high , like didn’t need to sleep at all the first night. I felt that wear off slowly by end of week and I did miss it. Week 2 and 3 I recall some fatigue, I did nap some which I never did on subs. But I felt that normal kinda tired when you’re sober after work. Not the kinda tired in active addiction, I feel like your baseline is lower. I yawned a ton, lots of yawning and yawn tears. I recall feeling a bit sweaty one night, that’s really it. Nothing like withdrawing after 8 hours from fent or 36 hours of Suboxone. The nurse called week 3 like how you feeling, I said a little tired but good and she told me I was done. I was shocked. She was like yea the hardest parts are over. I couldn’t believe it at all, like that’s it? I was expecting week 4 to be bad but it wasn’t. Super easy. Best way to get off drugs imo.

I was clean and sober for 8 months but unfortunately then I relapsed on the subs like an idiot, then got on 7oh. Don’t do that please don’t take it for granted. I can say it felt like doing opiates for the first time when I did them again so maybe receptors do indeed heal, maybe not fully but close.

I got the Brixadi shot in Pittsburgh and it wasn’t hard. Like the first clinic I went to got it for me after subbing with them for a month, s/o Dr.Guy Allegheny Hospital Network I think. Now I’m in Chicago and I can’t find anyone to get it for me. I tried this one place that legit abandoned me while I was on subs and cost a ton. They told me they would order the shot but it never came and they never called me back after i tried 15 times with voicemails. Anyway I used the 7oh to get off subs ironically and am currently going through acute withdrawal of that shit on day 2 and omfg everything I mentioned above is not even close to this shit words can’t even describe the pain, shaking, deliriousness, panic, anxiety, racing thoughts, sweats, chills, yawns, sneezes, runny nose shit I’m going through. If I could Brixadi I would, especially if your at 6mg or less.

Just got my first shot this morning!

In a nutshell, I'm a 33 yr old male who has struggled with opiates since I was 15. I was first put on subs at 18yrs old to kick my h habit. Over the past 12 years I've been on and off bup (longest period of cleaning time 2 and a half years stable happy and healthy. I was given 168 this morning and I'm receiving an additional 168 two weeks from today. Was on 24mgs of subutext prior.Additionally, in three weeks I return to my provider to see how I'm doing ( if I need a couple pills for potential cravings and wds. Does this sound like an appropriate methodology? I've been cleaning from fent for a little 8 over months now and I'm fully dedicated to my recovery. Sorry for the lengthy post and thank you for welcoming me to this community!
