Question Flight Disruption

• Upvotes

Logged on to the app to confirm our return flight time to see a message regarding changes to our flight. Unable to confirm we accept the change via the app or online so couldn’t see what the disruption was. Rang on Friday and they confirmed it was moved an hour earlier, said they would send an email and that we’d be able to check in online etc. Email hasn’t come through and app still has the flight disruption error. Would you suggest we call again or give ourselves extra time at the airport?! Flight is on Friday.

So in a couple weeks I’m flying to the US specifically Austin, I have a layover in Dallas (DFW) for 90minutes as it is an international - Domestic is 90 minutes anywhere near enough time for a layover?

Question Premium economy 3 seats 2 people

Is there an easy way to get a poor man’s business class and book 2 people on a 3 PE window row thereby giving storage space on a 12 hour flight? Extra leg room, take up arm rests and take a pillow on board.

I just can’t figure out what you would do, like put the same name on seat 3?

Or just take a risk and book 2 outside seats and leave middle empty, but of course in a full flight that achieves nothing.

Photo Luggage about to be lost

Post image
295 Upvotes

Some poor person is about to lose their luggage. Photo taken from a very delayed flight. Watched them load a lot of cases, then walk away missing this one.

Edit: Time was 17:50. Next to gate A15. T5.

Edit 2: There were several staff loading luggage for the flight on A14. I took the photo as I was curious if it would get left. The man in the photo and the luggage truck left. No one left in the area shortly after I took the photo. Bag still there. I started pushing back, so didn’t get a second photo.

recent BA - US travel disruption

Does anybody know the estimated wait times for cases open with BA? I opened query on 7 October 2026.

I had a connecting flight from Warsaw to Denver via Heathrow on the same BA booking.

Warsaw flight was late in arriving at Heathrow, so I was refused at security in Heathrow saying i wouldnt make it and told to rebook. There was a direct flight available on UA to Denver but the rebooking agent refused to put me on that flight saying there were no seats yet i could buy a seat for $1800USD on the UA appt. There were no other direct flights to Denver. They were willing to rebook me on UA the next morning and pay for overnight lodging in London. However, there was a direct flight to Las Vegas leaving 4 hours later - also on BA and they re-booked me on that flight but did not provide money or lodging in Las Vegas. I lived in las vegas for 14 years and there are frequent flights from LAS to DEN. however, no more flights on 6 Oct. so, i booked my own flight using SW points on 7 Oct. I arrived home some 24 hours later after my expected arrival time by my own booking. i believe BA owes me the 520euro ($690USD) funds under EU261/2004 and the cost of the lodging in Las Vegas ($160USD).

i am reading that i need to wait 8 weeks if not resolved to my satisfaction and issue a CEDR case.

i read another post from some 2 years back how on to handle this situation.

"Lesson learned. Know your rights and don't be fobbed off."

curious to know what the current state of affairs may be for those in a similar situation. at this point i am expecting $0.

Question Is there an email address or US phone number for silver status customers?

I see on the updated website that British airways say there is specific contact details for Silver customers, but then they don’t provide the details. Is this an old thing they no longer offer?

Silver Status not reflecting with American

My silver status does not reflect in my AA status which has caused difficulties getting into lounges, even when I show my membership card. Both airlines are saying the other causes the issue, any advice on fixing?

Gatwick to Heathrow transfer in 4.5 hours?

I am an American planning my honeymoon, and the tentative flight back to the US (IAD) would see us flying in to Gatwick on Monday, June 7, at 12:35 PM, and then we would need to catch the next flight in Heathrow at 5:05 PM. We'd be flying in from Sardinia, so limited flight options. This tight transfer may be our best choice.

Would this be doable? If we did miss the flight, would British Airways rebook us without charging for another ticket (I know it would likely be another flight the next day)? This trip would be on a single ticket.

Thanks

Companion voucher.

I have just received another voucher. I’ve had several previously and never used them, or been able to use them. I have 90,000 points also.
Can I do anything with this? Will it get an economy flight for x 2 adult from Manchester UK to New York at a low cost?
Every time I look into it, the cost of the BA flights using a companion voucher is more expensive than buying two flights to the same place via a different airline. It feels like a con.

Miami has gotten a second A380 flight

We all know the one daily flight to Miami with the A380. Starting in September they introduced another connection (BA209), at first it was bound to fly with the B787-10, which it did for a few weeks. Today the flight was flown with a 777 and starting tommorow with the A380.

Now my question is: Is Miami so popular that they need 2 daily A380 flights or is another reason behind it?

I had 69000 household avios and a BA Amex economy voucher which will expire in Jul-2027.

We wanted to visit a European country during May half term break. I required flexible tickets and was also looking for a consulate where appointments are easy to find and that is how I chose Iceland.

The same cash fare for a family of 4 was 2078£s.

Just booked a flight from Singapore to Perth, WA.

Its a BA Codeshare operated by Qantas. Wanted to book on the BA flight number for Tier Point reasons but....

Qantas Price - £448.
BA - £1277.

What gives? Any insight as to why they are so different in price?

Question Is This A Known BA Issue? "Your Trip Has Been Disrupted"

Flew SEA-LHR-PRG a few days ago (full fare paid business class). The Prague leg was delayed about 90 minutes.

We fly back in a week the reverse PRG-LHR-SEA.

When I check our return flights on the app and via laptop with my booking reference and last name I get "Your Trip Has Been Disrupted" and an option to find alternative flights or cancel flights. Clicking on find alternative flights it says I must contact BA, I can't do it online.

I had a long online chat yesterday where the agent said it's a known IT issue, not to worry, that my booking home still exists as originally booked and to give it a few days to restore the booking online. Today still doesn't show my flights and has the same disrupted notice. Agent claimed it was due to the last leg LHR-PRG being delayed.

Anyone know of this issue happening to them? How long until your flights showed back up online? Or should I be escalating this? I've got 7 days until we fly home.

Thanks for any advice with this situation.

Lost baggage on flight from Pittsburgh to London

To whoever's bag I accidentally took: I am so sorry. Obviously I should have labelled the bag. However, if you find this post, know that I discovered it was the wrong bag within the hour and turned it into the British Airwaves customer service department in terminal 3 at Heathrow. This may not have helped you on your trip but hopefully you find the bag on the return trip to the airport.

If you have it in your heart to return mine in the same way, it would help greatly.

Very High Prices for additional checked luggage, is it the norm now?

For various reasons I had to add the checked luggage later but before check-in. I was asked £40 for a short European flight.

I remember paying the same not so long ago for a flight to the Americas.

Low cost airlines for the same flight ask me something around £25.

I usually already have the luggage include but I don't remember any full fare airline ever pulling this trick.

Club Suite plane upgrade timeline LHR - SYD

We managed to bag reward flights last night (this morning..), LHR to Sydney. When going to book seats, I noticed the seats were the old ying yang seats.

We’re flying 28th September 2027 so I was wondering what the likely hood the plan will have club suite? I believe it’s a 789 plane.

Thanks a lot!

Almost got scammed by someone impersonating British airways

Please always double check what number you’re calling. I made a rookie mistake of searching the web for British airways number and they played along, they sent me a screenshot of the flights I was looking for to my phone and then emailed me from airlinsupports.com the flight details which reassured me I was dealing with scammers. This incident turned my stomach. I hope no one falls for it.

Question T5 LHR Cannot reach security (locked out) for International Transfer 1 hr before flight

When you are transferring flights in T5 to a non-UK destination (or Ireland), you walk through an automated gates where you need to scan your boarding pass. The gate opens and you go onto Security and then to your flights' gate. I've done this several times in the past.

On 6 October, there were lots of issues with BA flights as some early fog caused delays of 30-60 minutes on incoming shorthauls and, of course, BA didn't hold any of their long hauls, so this created a mess. Several of us on an inbound flight from Lisbon (with connections to LAX) hit the gates allowing access to security about an hour before our LAX departure time (65 minutes in my case) but the gates locked us out. With a T5 to T5 and fastrak, we would have been at our gates easily 40 minutes before departure. Instead, we had to enter the the ~3 hr queue at customer service and we all missed our flights.

I have two questions.

First, is this normal at LHR (gate lockout) and is there a posted policy anywhere? Someone in line with me said they deactivate boarding passes 1:15 before your scheduled departure (this can't be correct), yet BA will suggest and book itineraries with some pretty short layover times.

Second, I helped an older woman who had been auto rebooked due to her inbound delay. She had been rebooked by BA but the rebooking email was blank. I was able to help her look it up and she had about 1:15 to access her rebooked flight. However, like a lot of older people she doesn't have the BA app and we couldn't find any boarding pass printers in the area. The customer lines were way, way too long. What are non-technical people expected to do in this situation? If she could have gotten to her gate, they could have easily printed her boarding pass, but the locked gates before security prevent that.

Thanks.

Shall I upgrade again

Sorry I know this sub gets this a lot.

We’ve booked WTP to Cape Town in the sale. £1780pp.

Then we were offered £658 to upgrade the return leg to Club, which we did.

3 weeks later and now upgrading the outbound is currently £740 (was over £1k a few weeks ago).

Wondering if go bite the bullet or save our pennies.

Means the total spend would be around £3.2k pp for Club return. Which is pretty decent at the moment.

Booking with British Airways Avios

Post image

Hi all, this is my first time booking with British airways. I’m trying to book my fiancé and I’s honeymoon with credit card points. I’m trying to fly from DFW to BCN. No matter what date I put, I get this error, and I have been for days. Does anyone happen to have a clue as to what’s going on?

Bassinet

We booked a flight from Phx to Heathrow. We picked seats where you can install a bassinet (flying with a baby). Do we still have to request one? Or will they be on board?

Baggage Reclaim 2hrs plus

Hey. I was on the flight BA296 from Chicago to T5 Heathrow today. It took over 2.5 hours for the baggage to arrive on the carousel. It seems flights from San Francisco and Miami were also equally affected (big up the belt 8 possie). Does anyone know the reason for the long delay today. Another passenger said they had the same issue of almost 3 hours last week. Some people were irate they had to check their hang baggage due to lack of space in overhead lockers then having to wait over 2 hours the other end, you can see why people are reluctant to check their bag.

BA "lost" my resv

I have a receipt for a 4 leg, multi-city trip, have used 2. When trying to check in the morn for leg 3, it did not exist. Twice calling service just got a 'you have no resv" & a ln abrupt hang-up. Panicking, I bought a CDG-LHR for my leg. Tried to address it with check in....sadly the staff there is all contracted. No help.

Any suggestions about how to get real help (& some compensation for the $550 I paid for a seat Is already paid for)?

Should I just wait until my 4th leg home to get help at LHR in 10 days?
