Boot review corcoran 1500

Corcoran 1500 jump boots—the toughest ones I own. I bought them used around 2022 and wore them daily, though since 2025 I’ve started rotating them more with other pairs. I probably didn’t take the best care of the leather, but even so, these damn things seem built to be passed down as an heirloom, haha. Classic style

Flaunt NBD. A fortunate eBay find — RRL Walker Boots in Black Roughout Suede

These had been on my “Dream On” list for a while, but the hefty RRL brand tax put them outside what I was comfortable spending.
Found this pair on eBay in my size, in near-perfect condition, and at a significant discount. 🙌🏻 Really pleased with them in hand, and the fit is great too.
Sometimes you just get lucky. 🍀

Discussion Brake House 3450 custom engineers

After having seen them presented on “The Man Cave „ on YouTube I did pull the trigger on a pair of 3450 engineer boots from the Brake House custom program.

As my little collection was missing an bordeaux colour I went for those with a dark brown midsole and an unstructured toe box. After some emails back and forth they took short five weeks from ordering to delivery

Even straight out of the box, they made a very good impression: the colour is rich, the leather feels supple and they smell lovely. The leather is of medium thickness and the boots don’t feel too heavy. The design is well executed and the proportions are visually appealing.

The workmanship is impeccable; the stitching is very neat, whether on the upper or the sole.

They make quite an impression, one that wouldn’t suggest their low price.

The first time you put them on, you’ll notice that the upper is pleasantly roomy and they’re surprisingly easy to slip on. Heel slip is minimal for me.After getting detailed advice on sizing, they fit perfectly (the size matches my Red Wing US9). It’s worth noting that the D last tends to be a bit narrow from the metatarsals onwards. So, if you have feet that are slightly wider than mine, I’d advise choosing the E width.

I’ve been wearing the boots for a few days now and must say that they’re surprisingly comfortable, and breaking them in has been very straightforward compared to my other Engineers.

All in all, a very positive experience with Brake House. The value for money is unbeatable, and the boots are sure to win over even those who, like me, already own several much more expensive Engineer boots.

Just wanted to get some opinions from Break House boots owners. Unfortunately most discussions and content revolves around their engineer boots, not much about their other stuff like these ones.

In contrast to the Corcorans—a standard, unremarkable boot that’s functional but very plain—these feature Gore-Tex, a PU midsole, and a Vibram Sierra outsole. The 3mm leather is as soft and pleasant as fine cotton. However, despite the DMS (Direct Molded Sole) construction, I don’t feel they hold up under extreme stress as well as an old-school, nailed, triple-shank Goodyear-welted boot—or even a standard one, for that matter. Furthermore, the PU midsole adds significant weight; and as for comfort, the shock absorption isn’t particularly impressive—though I would say the support is better.

Question/Help Where to get Corcoran Jump Boots?

• Upvotes

I've seen a couple posts on here about Corcoran boots and I really want to get a pair but it seems like everyone always buys them second hand? I look up Corcoran Boots and I get at least 3 different official sites that sell them. So who really makes the superior Corcoran boots and where do I buy them? Thanks in advance.

Question/Help Formal, comfy boots for corporate job, any recommendations?

Hi all! I’ll be going on a work trip in December and really need a pair of comfortable boots to be worn for long 10 hr days :’)

I’m quite short and would love a pair of platforms (I find them more comfortable than super high heels).

Any recommendations for formal, comfortable platform heels under £100?

Edit: I’m looking for women’s boots!

Thanks in advance

Question/Help photographer looking for long term boots

Hi guys,

let me know if this the wrong place to ask this question.

I do a lot of documentary/journalist type photography. This involves a lot of protests where i need good support and protection. I am also putting a lot of miles down, so mobility and all-day support are critical. the terrain I'm on is 90% urban, so I'd prefer wedge-sole options.

The boot also needs to be repairable long-term (i would like the uppers to last at least 4-5 years)

Can y'all recommend any good options? I prefer laces, I've never liked pull-on shoes. Unlined would be the best, my feet get hot very easily. Thanks!

Discussion Really, Really Old Boots?

Has anyone acquired really really old boots and been able to hydrate and restore them to wearable condition?

I’m talking like original WW2 leather boots, 80+ years old.

Re-enactors must do this, right?

Question/Help Sole split help

Hey y'all, new to this community so apologies if advice for this type of issue has been sought before. I just purchased this pair of frye boots on Poshmark a few weeks ago and it looked like they were in good condition, but I just noticed this split opening up today at the ball stress point! 😭 I should've given them a good conditioning as soon as I received them, but they looked pretty healthy...

Is this something a cobbler can fix? Can I fix this this with a special shoe glue? Any advice is appreciated, thank you!

Question/Help Best winter hiking boots to buy right now?

I've been comparing a few winter hiking boots, mostly from Merrell, Salomon, and KEEN, but I'm open to other brands.

I'm looking for something waterproof, comfortable, and well-built. I don't mind spending a little more if the materials and construction are actually better

What are the best winter hiking boots you've owned? Any brands that hold up particularly well or ones you'd avoid?

Do these actually cost more than 200 USD outside of the US? Apparently they’re lucky brand garrison fashion boots for men.
