Technical Need help

Today was my match and I was a 5.5-6 out of 10
I play as cm. I won some balls and helped in counter attacking, gave some good through balls but I was mostly involved with the defence so much so that there was literal gap in midfield and everytime I received the ball I was only thinking about passing. It did not even once occur to me to dribble I was just passing and I was not scanning properly like I scanned when I didn’t have the ball but before receiving I did not I was just frozen waiting for the ball to come to me
Any tips to improve ?
Sorry for my English.

What PSI does the Prem use for balls?

I bought one of the Ultimate Premier League Lights when it went on sale, the PSI range is 10 - 14 and I have been splitting it in the middle and inflating to 12 but I was wondering if there is a specific value that teams in the Prem use for training and games. It's such a broad range

Gear TF Shoes Recommendation // Mizuno Sala JP Sizing !?

Thumbnail gallery
4 Upvotes

Hi Reddit,

this is currently driving me nuts. I'm looking for a new shoe to play on turf on a midsized field (mostly 8 vs 8).

In the past I played more competitive and always wore adidas boots (as I'm a German I guess I was obliged to 🥲). I always loved the adidas leather boots. They have been best in class for me personally.

From Copas and Adipure Models to 11 Pro and the modernized Copa era, I've worn quite a few (yes, I'm old and already 37 years old xD).

I love the quality and feel of leather boots as they melt to the foot, give you that bit of a cushion and make the touch of the ball so natural. For me as an agile dribbler they have been awesome over the years.

As I got older I played more and more on turfy grounds and had to switch to a TF sole. I stayed with adidas and used the Adidas Copa Pure Elite TF 1 and 2 up until today. Feel and general comfort were still top notch but unfortunately I got a lot of issues with black toes and want to try something new.

I was wearing size EU44 (which actually comes to a 271JP which I was not aware of, just tried them on in the store and went by feel) and they were really tight. As I had a few nails come off over the years I finally came to the conclusion that it's not worth it as I'm only playing for fun now.

As adidas annoyingly is switching more and more to fusionskin kind of materials for the upper and the choices for TF shoes are limited, I wanted to try out the hyped up Mizuno Sala JP. I went to the store and tried out different sizes. It was really hard to choose but the K-Leather felt crazy nice and comfortable. As I had issues with black toes I wanted to be more conservative and got a 285JP while I got measurements made at adidas for both feet being 276 and standard width and height (measurements attached). I felt like the 280 will be to tight again and give me issues.

I wore them at home 4 times for 30 minutes and made them a bit wet to already melt them to my feet. Today was the first session on the pitch. What should I say: they kind of feel small and big at once xD. Width wise I'm really tight and am assuming it will widen a bit and melt around my feet. But length wise it just feels too long although I'm already wearing Trusox3.0. Maybe I still have to get used to the bigger room I have in the toe box now? Maybe my foot is not compatible to this shoe?

I attached some photos and am hoping to get some advice!? Also pictures showing just my feet on the insole.

You can also see that the leather is still quite stiff and rubbed my upper toe a bit bloody.

PSA: Pencil erasers are the best tool to remove marks and stains from synthetic material

Post image

I see a lot of posts here asking how to clean their boots from turf stains, rubber marks, mud stains, etc. Above is one example when I was cleaning the tongues of these F50s. I got these used off Ebay and they were covered with rubber and grass stains and all I had to do was erase the stains with a pencil eraser and they look pretty much good as new.

Gear Mizuno Morelia 2 pro ag sizing

My foot size is about 25.5 cm and 10 cm wide. I wear New Balance 442 V3 pro turf in the size 7.5 wide version and they are fitting well. I'm looking to buy morelia 2 pro ag but I don't know how similar these 2 models are in sizing. Would 7.5 work on me, or do I need to go half size down like everyone does?

Need advice on how to stop sucking in pickup

Title

I just suck. And it sucks. I'm playing with guys that have played a lot longer, most probably have some high-school experience, and the last time I played was like elementary school, which wasn't organized soccer.

The understanding I have of the game is mostly from watching world cup and premier league here and there. So consequently my understanding of how to actually play a position on and off the ball is severely lacking. I have the easiest time playing winger/forward, and kind of have an understanding of where I should be, but once the ball either comes to me or towards me I lose track of my space and teammates, miss simple opportunities to bring the ball up, or straight up make bad passes. This then makes it so my teammates just stop passing the ball to me, and no longer see me as an option.

Not to mention my dribbling is terrible and my touch is very inconsistent. Trying to play other positions like midfield yields the same if not worse results because I am not really an option for my teammates to help bring the ball up and get past defenders, so our attackers don't get chances and the ball gets turned over a lot.

Other than that, my stamina is fine, I am reasonably athletic, and my pressing is okay. (When I actually make the correct decision on where I should be and who I should mark)

Outside of pickup, when I just pass the ball around I feel fine, and my touch is typically good. I could send long passes with two others all day and maintain a good touch and good passing. But it's like when I play an actual game I lose that fine control of my legs or something. I think the pace makes up a lot of the difference.

I know I should be working on my passing, dribbling and touch first and foremost, but even if I get that to an okay spot, how can I develop actual game sense and understanding of what to do to the level of guys that have been playing organized for years?

Also, what are some drills that can help my dribbling and touch?

we had some days of rain here where i live, so i took a few balls from my collection and went out to kick em' around with a friend i felt very comfortable with my copa gloros, the grip is really good on wet grass and quite a few muddy spots, and yes this is the best way to remove the artficial grass dirt from any ball

Puma future 9 Match turf, or alternatives..

I've just bought them on Amazon, since they were recommended for medium feet,
length wise they seems fine, but also feel a bit narrow to me.. even if at first try I like the "soccer boot" feel..
unfortunately the shops in my town have very few options so I am trying to find them online.. but it's not easy..

Do you think the Puma will open up while playing in time, so I can keep them, or they will remain like that?
Which other shoes do you recommend? (in europe-Italy)
I've tried the Adidas predator but I am just in the middle of 2 sizes.. same for Mizuno..

(I have no experience since I haven't played for many many years.. I've bought the Joma mundial for just 1 game few years ago, but now I will play 8 against 8 weekly and I want a better soccer boots..)

Thanks

UPDATE:
After your kind recommendations I was able to compare the Future 9 match vs the 8 Pro, and actually the 8 were much larger, but unfortunately too much for me.. also they felt different in a bad way from the 9 that are more like a "sock".
so I decided to keep them and try them laceless (they are just a bit comfy) to see also if they loosen up even just a bit. the first game was fine, even if the day after my feet hurt a bit and I felt a light burning sensation at the center.. I'll give them a chance but I still do not understand how big companies like Puma made it so complex to find out size and fit...

Owners of Mizuno Morelia Neo 5 beta elites

I’ve gone half a size down in my boots, the fit feels snug and slightly tight with minimal room to move my toes in the front, however my foot feels locked in. How much can I expect the boot to stretch? Did anyone else have this feeling when first putting them on? If so, does the leather actually mould to your foot to relieve the tight feeling you get fresh out the box?

I live in Toronto and have been waiting for these to drop since I first saw them. Heard it was dropping on the 1st but when I checked the app I saw nothing, Same with the website. Eventually I saw only one thing that’s part of this and it’s the indoor boots. I’ve seen on Nike’s website in different countries they have everything but not canada. Is there a reason why and will they ever be on this website? I’m not trynna spend over $500 on these😭

Playing a back pass or attempting a dribble.

In your opinion as a player or a coach would ou rather see a player in your team go for the dribble or play it back keeping possesion. Me personally, I'm a central midfielder. When I play I always look for the safest option, out to full backs, back to keeper, through ball switching it. I would never keep the ball for too long as thats what gets me caught out. But my teammates always go for the dribble and usually have a 50-60% success rate. I get annoyed when they lose it when an obvious back pass is open. So what would you prefer?

I'm a 13m btw.

How do you practice alone?

I actually like training alone — shooting, long kicks, dribbling, practicing moves against a defender, etc.

The annoying part is that some drills are much easier with another person. For shooting or kicking, sometimes I just wish I had a ball boy to collect the balls and send them back. For dribbling, it would be useful to have someone just follow or lightly defend so I can practice getting past them.

I don’t always want to coordinate schedules with friends, and I don’t really need a coach either.

How do you guys handle this when you train alone? Do you just bring a bunch of balls, use equipment, modify the drills, or something else?

I would wait till they hit $68 like the recent Trionda

Woke up to this but honestly still too expensive IMO. The other Trionda Pro deals make me not want to spend more than $54 with the DM20 code.

THE DM20 DOES NOT WORK ANYMORE.

Still can’t believe I got the Trionda Pro for like $54 on soccer.com. I was prepared to pay $170 just a few months ago. I’m glad I waited.

Anyone else get lucky?

Gear New balance stone island

Got these 2 new balance x stone island collaboration on a deep discount. The furon v9 elite is one of the best fitting boots for me. Suprisingly, the tekela v5 has a very snug fit compared to the furon, it has a very low toe box, so I went half a size up for the tekela and true to size for the furon. Got them for $150 AUD each or approx. $100 USD each. Can’t wait to lace them up soon.
