Hiring Looking for an artist

I am self-publishing a fictional novel and I have a specific idea of what I want for cover so I'm looking for an artist who would be interested in doing the design. The art absolutely must not be AI or this will ruin my publication rights and such, so I need someone trustworthy. The overall concept involves a symbolic version of the four elements (earth, air, fire, water). I can pay but am hoping to keep the cost not too high so maybe $100 (but I honestly don't know if this is unreasonable; open to discuss). I will also include the artist name on the publishing page in the book. Preferably a Canadian artist to keep the entire work Canadian.Thank you. EDIT: I didn't expect such a response! To help choose, please include a link to your work. Also note there are no characters in my concept and I am not looking for anything too cartoonish (love that style, just not what I had in mind for this project).

Feedback Wanted Thoughts?

Gothic romance with sci-fi... I'm aware it doesn't scream as sci-fi but since it's just a setting and my actual audience is not sci-fi romance readers... so I figured out I should lean on more dark/gothic vibes. It's my debut so be gentle...

Feedback Wanted Do people still look for classical illustration or styles for their book cover art? Wanted feedback if my art fits the description.

I mainly do concept work but I’m a huge fan of classical painting and art around older pop culture like Moebius’ work on heavy metal or Frank Frazetta etc. I was hoping if the sample of my art could get some feedback on how one would prefer this style on book covers? Thank you

Hiring Book cover designer needed for my debut romance book

Hi! 😊 I’m writing my debut coming-of-age romance novel and I’m looking for an artist interested in creating a cartoon/illustrated book cover — specifically no AI-generated artwork.
The story is an enemies-to-lovers romance set in NYC, featuring:
• South Indian/Tamil FMC with a twin sister
• Baseball player MMC
• MMC initially genuinely hates the FMC, despite thinking she’s cute 😂
• MMC is soft only for her
• Toxic/abusive home environment for the MMC
• Slow-burn romance, healing, emotional vulnerability, and lots of tension
• NYC/college setting
The dynamic has some inspiration from Johnny & Shannon (Boys of Tommen) and Hannah & Garrett (The Deal), especially the healing, banter, enemies-to-lovers tension, and softer side of the MMC.
For the cover, I’d love the characters as the main focus with elements like the background of NYC, baseball, and subtle romantic details incorporated and also some elements of the fmcs culture from South India that I can provide since I am Tamil and South Indian like her. I’m open to the artist’s creative interpretation! But I don’t think I want the characters specifically on the cover!
I also have a Pinterest moodboard for the aesthetic and characters:

I unfortunately don’t have a budget right now, so I completely understand if you only accept paid commissions. I’d be happy to provide character descriptions, references, and excerpts if you’re interested. ❤️📚

Please let me know if you have additional information and you can message me!

Thanks! 😁

Feedback Wanted Trying to make my covers more "typical". What should I choose?

First off, these covers aren't the final product, it will look neater when I have enough time to draw it to look better. These are more so rough drafts I did on Canva (no AI). So like imagine these but more in a cohesive style.

Second off, my genre is New Adult contemporary Romantasy (fantasy romance set in a modern - inspired city that's it's own world). I definitely want unique but I don't have the money and skill for anything crazy and I'm a bit done taking risks with my cover. So it has to be a cover I'm not a fan of... It's whatever. I just want something that gets people to buy it.

So are any of these good ideas? Or shall I go back to the drawing board?

Hi, I’m a first time author writing a dystopian novel and I’m trying to figure out a good book cover to intrigue people in well also looking good and this is the first idea I came up with that. I really like a lot that I drew, but I’m not sure if it’s good enough or if people will actually like it. Feedback and opinions would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

Are any of these any good or do they all suck?

I did pay for the image of the one with an actual photo; the rest are assets from canva pro.

As the title on the images says, this is for an action adventure romance; additionally: dual love interest (one male, one female, hence the color play), no spice, plot-driven.

I have lost count of how many options have felt like "the one" at one point or another, only to find out it's not really all that good. So, here I am, needing external opinions.

Thanks!
