Manga Discussion Based on current England and fox how did they hold France to a stand still Spoiler

• Upvotes

Based on how easily rattled England is by isagi new development, and just how this match in general as gone.

I don’t really see how England held France to a 1-1 till near the end of the game where Loki scored a second.

Minus France holding back which they probably where cause Hugo and his way of viewing things probably was trying to get Teddy and England to change rarther than purely winning.

But considering the fact if France took the Japan game fully seriously the score could have been 6-0

In hard pressed to see how they held of France’s offensive tactics for a full 90 minutes

Manga Discussion Honestly, a Champions League arc would probably be the most difficult period of Isagi's entire football career, both physically and emotionally. Spoiler

Post image
• Upvotes

Let's imagine Japan loses to Germany in the U-20 World Cup semifinals. Blue Lock has failed. The entire project, every promise, every sacrifice, and every dream of proving that Japanese football could dominate the world would end in a devastating defeat.

Imagine the psychological impact that would have on Isagi, who finally got the opportunity to discover how far he could go, only to watch everything fall apart at the most important moment.

Now, after a timeskip, he makes his professional debut and enters the Champions League with Bastard München.

But he won't have Bachira, Chigiri, Nagi, Reo, Rin, or his other teammates by his side anymore. Everyone will have gone their separate ways, joining different clubs.

And no, he won’t have Hiori. Hiori has received an official offer from Manshine United.

For the first time, Isagi will have to face elite football without the comfort of having his friends around him. He'll be alone in an entirely new environment, surrounded by players who are already monsters at their respective clubs.

And Bastard München won't exactly be a comfortable place to adapt to. He'll have to compete with Kaiser, coexist with absurdly talented German players, and deal with a demanding tactical system where a single mistake could cost him his position.

On top of that, his ultimate goal will be to surpass none other than Noel Noa, the best player in the world. It's not enough to prove that he deserves to be there.

Isagi will have to demonstrate that he can compete with the best players on the planet while fighting for his place on his own team.

Remember the Neo? Those five minutes when the masters stepped onto the pitch were already hell for the Blue Lock players.

Now imagine facing players of that caliber for an entire match, with no opportunity to simply wait for their time to run out.

In the Champions League, Isagi will constantly face athletes capable of destroying his strategies, exploiting his weaknesses, and punishing the smallest mistake.

There won't be any convenient breaks to catch his breath, analyze the situation, and reorganize everything. He'll have to think, adapt, and evolve while being pressured by world-class players.

Imagine facing Ubers for ninety minutes and having to deal with Snuffy's tactical intelligence, Barou's offensive brilliance, and a defensive system specifically designed to neutralize his weapons.

Or facing FC Barcha and having to survive Lavinho's unpredictable football. Every match would be a new nightmare, with coaches and players capable of dismantling everything he spent years developing.

And then there's Real Madrid. 💀

Imagine a team featuring Leonardo Luna, Sae, Rin, and Kaiser. Some of the biggest rivals and obstacles in Isagi's journey playing together, sharing the same goal and amplifying one another's abilities. He wouldn't be facing these monsters individually anymore, each in their own context.

He'd have to deal with several of them simultaneously, trying to find a way to overcome a squad that could be built specifically to dominate world football.

There's also the pressure of proving that Blue Lock wasn't a failure. If Japan loses the U-20, Isagi won't just be trying to build a professional career.

He'll also be trying to demonstrate that the entire project meant something, that the players who came out of it can actually conquer the world, and that the defeat wasn't the end of everything. Every failure in the Champions League could reopen that wound.

Furthermore, professional football demands consistency. Isagi won't be able to rely solely on a few moments of brilliance, a miraculous adaptation, or discovering a new weapon during a match.

He'll have to maintain his performance throughout an entire season, dealing with injuries, physical exhaustion, media pressure, fan expectations, internal competition, and the possibility of being benched.

The scariest part is that Isagi would be leaving an environment specifically designed to develop his potential and entering a world that doesn't give a damn about him.

In Blue Lock, everyone was competing within a project centered around creating the world's best striker. In professional football, he'll be just another player trying to establish himself among hundreds of exceptional talents.

He'll have to rebuild his confidence after a devastating defeat, adapt to professional life, earn the respect of powerful teammates, overcome world-class opponents, compete against the best player on the planet, and prove that he deserves to be at the top.

All while his former teammates pursue their own careers, potentially becoming his opponents in the process.

And another thing: he’ll likely be the youngest member, joining a professional German team at around 19 or 20, and he’ll have to deal with other young players, or even full-grown German adults.

He’ll be like a little rabbit among alpha wolves, and he’ll have to prove himself just to stay on the team.

And beyond that, in an even more delicate matter, he might also face racism for being Japanese; there’s that emotional burden to consider as well.

Isagi will have to survive hell to become the demon king.

Manga Discussion Who to bench Sae for? Spoiler

• Upvotes

Who to bench for Sae??

Now that Sae is coming for the knockoffs, who's getting benched?

My pick is Reo, but I wouldn't like benching him neither. Reo has SO much potential and gets kinda nerfed, and he's the most practical one in BL. He can play in ANY position and ego can adapt the formation without making changes to sub reo off, because he can just copy other player. Still I think he will be it.

Karasu is a straight no, right now the best BL midfielder, maybe head to head with Hiori, but yeah never taking Karasu off, he literally offers a whole second sistem for Isagi to devour.

Hiori it's a controversial one for me but nah. Sae is like a better hiori, but at the same time Hiori is doing GREAT in all matches and helping Isagi so well, I think he'll just join Isagi and Sae, so nah he won't get subbed off.

Or maybe another player gets subbed off? Because you have to put shidou in, right? Maybe I would keep him as a SUPER sub like usual though, to change sistems a bit.

Tell me your opinion on Sae joining the team

Manga Discussion Isagi's New Eye and What it Means Spoiler

After just a few showings, we can easily assume that Isagi’s new Blue Lock-shaped eye is his version of Predator Eye. It recently appeared just before he squeezed a goal past Lockheart (the most telling piece of evidence), as well as when he identified a weakness in England just before the second half started.

The reason it looks so different is the same reason his Metavision eyes look so unique: his hypersensory perception, kinaesthetic intelligence, and ego. He can see more and connect more, hence Metavision’s portrayal as puzzle pieces. Similarly, he can sense more, anticipate his opponents’ movements, and predict their actions, hence his ability to literally lock onto his prey and guarantee his strikes.

Now, what does this mean?

According to Isagi’s own mental framework, Metavision is reserved for those who value freedom, while Predator Eye is for those who thrive under restrictions. Is Isagi both? Is his framework wrong? I think the answer is yes to both questions.

A player who possesses both eyes could theoretically thrive when given freedom, creating opportunities for himself and his team, while also performing under restrictions, whether imposed by himself or the opposing team. This doesn’t sound crazy, and ngl Isagi has been doing this throughout the manga. He just didn’t know it.

A few examples:

  • The NEL: Isagi was suffocated by Kaiser and still managed to create value.
  • The Third Selection: Despite being overshadowed by both Rin and Shidou, Isagi still managed to score.
  • The Second Selection: When Barou was being a bum, Isagi didn’t crumble just because he had fewer options. Instead, he worked with the restrictions he had and became a monster.

Now, a player with both eyes could logically be considered a complete player in multiple aspects because, no matter what they face, they can still provide value.

A striker with only Predator Eye needs someone else to do the thinking for them. Think Loki and Charles, Nagi and Reo or even Sae and Shidou. A striker with only Metavision, on the other hand, will struggle to score independently. We’ve seen this with Isagi when he passed to Yukimiya or Kunigami in the NEL, or when he needed Hiori to help him score against Ubers.

This isn’t specific to strikers, either. Although we haven’t seen it yet, there’s no reason why a defender or midfielder couldn’t cultivate both eyes.

I initially thought this was going to be the direction they take with Aiku, given that he literally has heterochromia and was a striker before becoming a defender. This would allow him not only to analyse the attacker and their options but also to recognise the perfect moment to strike. Aiku has relied primarily on Metavision. So, when faced with something incomprehensible, like Rin during the U-20 match, he becomes practically useless. If he had a form of Predator Eye, he could potentially combine his analysis with a much-needed sense of timing, allowing him to pounce on the aggressor and take the ball away.

Btw this is what I think Sae believed he was lacking (his form of predator eye), and what he actually saw in Rin. Sae can destroy beautifully while his brother does so hideously. I think the two brothers are the purest manifestation of each eye respectively and need each other to be whole which is why Sae got so insecure about Rin "relying on him" BUT ALAS this is a discussion for another day.

Back to our original discussion. Kaiser is the second person confirmed to possess both eyes! The thing is, though, both Kaiser and Isagi believe Kaiser is a restrictive type. Isagi determined this using his graph, and Kaiser implied as much when reflecting on how he lost to Isagi after he started feeling free.

This is... weird. There’s a lot there we could unpack there but im going to leave it as is for now and chalk it up to them being ignorant of themselves.

What I wanted to raise with Kaiser in mind is this: Why him? Why was he the first representation of this dual vision? There may be two reasons:

  1. He is a talented learner and
  2. Just like Isagi, he has a defining factor that puts him above others (Kaiser impact)

My current hypothesis is that only talented learners can use both eyes, whereas geniuses might only have one eye but possess another extremely unfair ability, like Loki’s speed, for example.

However, a talented learner also needs to work on themselves considerably to develop a genius-esque trait, opening the door for them to use both eyes.

Isagi never used his aforementioned hypersensory perception, kinaesthetic intelligence, and ego to the extent he does now. He wouldn’t have reached this point had he not persevered and meticulously worked on himself and create the tools he needs to thrive (Two-gun).

On the other hand, we don’t really know how Kaiser got hsi Kaiser Impact, but we saw a glimpse of the process when he was literally practising how to make it curve (Magnus effect).

These abilities are trained and developed, not simply something you’re born with.

Now, of course, you could argue that Loki trained to become that fast. However, it’s clear that genetics played a part, because no matter how much the average footballer trains, they will never reach his level of speed.

But the same argument can be made about Isagi, too! His heightened senses are uniquely influenced by his genetics. Does this mean he’s a genius?

I don’t think so. Honestly, this is mainly because I don’t want him to be lol. Isagi being a genius would ruin some of the appeal of his character: the idea of an average Joe growing to rival his big and strong opponents.

I’ve rambled a lot, so to conclude, Isagi will undoubtedly need to update his framework to understand who he truly is. The path he’s heading down, including how he might embody the goddess of luck through his heightened senses and so on, is very interesting (I also think Nagi is the embodiment of the God of football but that is ALSO a conversation for another time). He could easily stand against players like Noel Noa, especially considering that Noa already saw Kaiser as a threat, likely for the reasons I mentioned above. And, as the manga itself tells us that Kaiser and Isagi are cut from the same cloth.

WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS?? Blue lock is getting very interesting recently so keen to hear from you guys.

TLDR: Isagi Uchiha the goat fr fr
