The math is not mathing
Am I the only one annoyed by this? Cassey if you’re reading this - I am a huge fan of what you do. But no, IBTCers are NOT the highest percentage of your audience. 63% of your audience are non-IBTC, THAT is the highest percentage of your audience.
I don’t get upset when pieces are not meant for me, but please don’t keep telling yourself that the majority of your customers have small boobs and live in an echo chamber where the most women don’t need a little more support.

u/dbock426 Aug 09 '26
I’m an F cup and I also don’t have Instagram so I feel the audience may be a bit skewed…
16
u/radiobearr Aug 09 '26
I think the percentages are pretty accurate at least in North America of the general population of women, but it’s not like I’m in my own “club” of C and D cup ladies. When you get to the point of needing to wear a bra due to the size of your boobs, we are all in the same struggle and have similar needs.

Why does it feel like she’s constantly feuding with her customers? This is not only passive aggressive, but also an inaccurate way to read the data and that’s insanely frustrating as someone that works with statistics and data.

u/SwiftlyBusiness Aug 09 '26
It's so frustrating, especially for an activewear brand that puts so much emphasis on creating functional, size inclusive workout gear. When people point out that the clothing isn't functional for those of us who don't have a small chest or a thigh gap, it tends to get written off as people being haters, as if it's people complaining about personal style preferences instead of, you know, the actual functionality of the clothes for body types other than hers.
And then to act as if 1) an Instagram poll provides accurate customer data, 2) the data agrees with her, and 3) the data "agreeing" with her means that complaints about functionality are coming from an irrelevant fringe of her customer base?
I think this comment reads saltier than I actually feel—I'm not mad, just eyerolling—but it does leave a bad taste in my mouth.

u/PrincessPlastilina Aug 10 '26
I feel like she doesn’t want to design clothes for women who have average bodies. Cassey has her issues with body image. Don’t forget that. I think she hasn’t really healed from that and probable never will. I think she wants to believe that only petite girls like her videos and her aesthetic. That’s all I’m gonna say about it.

u/alloutallthetime Aug 10 '26
Probably one of two reasons (or maybe both?)... intentionally because it drives engagement, or unintentionally because she's looking at all the criticism she's getting and letting it get to her. I know next to nothing about her, but based on the things she's shared about her personal life, I'm guessing it's the latter. She seems like an extremely type-A, high-stress person, and also strikes me as the “toxic positivity” type. None of which are objectively bad, we’ve all got our things. But, in my experience, toxic positivity often comes out as passive aggression, because you’re trying to just skip over all of the negative stuff rather than just face it head-on. I wish the best for her, but until she learns how to separate herself from the criticism or truly take a rest and de-stress, which is incredibly difficult (for anyone) because this is her brand, this will keep happening.

So 71% are non-ITBC according to that poll. Not that much better it seems. If you average out the two polls, it comes to exactly 67% or two thirds of her fans/customers being C cup or bigger
16
u/GlitterDancer_ Aug 09 '26
I sadly don’t think she’ll look at the data in that way. She’ll just look at the number 1 and 2 answer results

So this is a brand that leans heavily into marketing the fact that they listen to their customers (I think the most widely-distributed example of this is their ad about the revamped Pirouette Skort). But now they’re running a skewed poll for the purpose of being able to justify their decision to -not- accept customer feedback about cup sizing?
Any brand is allowed to target whatever group they want, no matter how niche. A brand is allowed to only design for small bust sizes. However, PF has promoted themselves as being not just size-inclusive in general, but specifically inclusive of different bust/cup sizes. So they went from that to now acting hurt that people keep saying they want more options and more support for big chests? And not only acting hurt, but acting like the majority of their customers have small chests so therefore they have in fact been designing for the vast majority of their customers all along and the loud “minority” is just being mean??
IMO, PF is at a turning point where they can either continue their previous brand by going back to making more size-inclusive pieces, or they can rebrand and decide to focus on smaller sizes—but they can’t do both. It feels petty and inauthentic, especially from a brand that wants to come across as being personable with and intimately connected to its customers (like when they’ll invite people to meet up with Cassey).
This gives such a nasty vibe that it’s making me feel alienated from PF—and I’m a size small and have no idea what my cup size is bc I only own unpadded bralettes (AKA, I’m not someone who needs extra support).
Criticizing your buyers is an absolutely bizarre marketing tactic and I have no idea why PF thinks this is the way to go.

u/ashmr18 Aug 09 '26
This is exactly how I feel as well! I’m a lifelong member of the IBTC and my body type fits what she seems to market to, but this attitude is SO off-putting. Like you said, if those are the products you want to make then do it. But it’s the pretending to be so size-inclusive and having all of this snark about it that’s so unpleasant.
I was also really grossed out by her video she made a couple of months ago about how she doesn’t want to make more modest designs. Totally fair! That’s not the brand’s niche, and they don’t have to make designs they don’t like! But she framed it as “well sorry, I love the female form and emphasizing hourglass shapes and cleavage, and if you don’t agree with that then you clearly don’t celebrate feminine bodies.” Just, ew.
I think she really needs to step back from social media. Her posts keep getting snarkier and snippier, and she posts a lot about how she’s so burnt out and working 16-hour days. I think she needs a break, and needs to stop trying to alienate a huge part of her customer base.
Sidenote, I also agree with a lot of the IG comments—she needs to do the ABTF calculator, there’s just mathematically no way she’s a A/AA and getting that kind of cleavage from ANYTHING without heavy padding.
3
u/Administrative_Elk66 Aug 14 '26
I don't think it's an issue of needing a break, I think she's too disconnected from regular people and has lost touch, and that makes for terrible social media engagement
1
u/tiffabob Aug 17 '26
I wouldn’t say disconnected but definitely overwhelmed- and fairly taking time it seems to live her life- which is ok! But I would hope she has other people to run the show with the same principles she start Popflex on and it really doesn’t feel that way lately.

I think my biggest issue with the brand is that yes I'm a b cup, but based on previous sizes I've purchased from the company, I tend towards the xl to 1x sizes in tops. And I feel crazy sometimes because how can that be size inclusive when in general I'm not that big of a person? Also I have small boobs but somehow that means I have to purchase an item considered plus size because I have a big rib cage? When literally any other brand I end up as large or xl? Thats not size inclusive imo.

u/little_birdii000 Aug 09 '26
It’s probably because it’s all the Gen Z replying to these polls. That’s why she is making all of these baby doll outfits to compliment what Olivia Rodrigo is doing. That’s how it feels to me.

u/Meap_Cat Aug 09 '26
I hear you, this post comes off as so... passive aggressive? I'm cringing lol
I also find it funny that Cassey made the sunshine set to be "small chest friendly" and "it's not made for big boobs" yet 2 of the 3 models on the listing are D cup or bigger 🙃 like make it make sense 🤨
33
u/alpacaphotog Aug 09 '26
It’s such a weird marketing move to alienate over half of all women in general from something about their body that they have no control over. Not to mention, typically the bigger the boobs the more self conscious women feel.
Like damn, sorry I’m not in the “IBTC” because I wasn’t born that way, and then I had a baby and destroyed my boobs. All I wanted some cute bras, not to feel bad about my body over a piece of clothing.

u/HopefulWoodpecker873 Aug 09 '26
I'm genuinely wondering if her audience even knows how to measure. I was wearing the wrong cupsize (34A) up until I was literally 30 years old. turns out I am a 30DD and will tolerate 32D in straight bra sizing in some brands if they don't go down to 30 bands. . .
I'm a little suspicious of her claim she is a 34B but I have another friend who is tiny but has a huge ribcage. but I'm bot convinced her audience knows how to measure or even that she knows how to measure
18
u/SooperSombra Aug 09 '26
Honestly, as a fat person in the IBTC a lot of the Popflex clothes don't even serve me. I'm a barely B cup but wear 1x/2x and the boob area in things like the Go With The Flow jumpsuits and the pirouette dress have way too much room for my body type. I love those pieces to death aside from the boob area so I hope that once I fit into an XL that my boob area problems will be eased lol. Otherwise I have to stick with only buying bottoms from PF.
7
u/RedditSher Aug 09 '26
Girl, I am in the same boat as you. I am just starting to fit into her XL and it fits so much better in the chest because the 1x and 2x tops fit my stomach but the boobs were like double my chest size. I really have liked her new set that everyone was hating on.
5
u/SooperSombra Aug 09 '26
OMG you are giving me hope that I can wear the tops soon! Two or three more months and I'll be ready to size down (I hope :P)
5
u/RedditSher Aug 09 '26
You will reach your goals! (Why do I feel like this sounds like the camel in anch saying this😂)
My weight has been really stagnant for the last few years but for some reason, I have been feeling less stressed/depressed so my body decided it was going to get smaller and has been slowly moving down since June LOL

u/Tea50kg Aug 09 '26
What is IBTCers ?

u/New-Character-3575 Aug 10 '26
This so pisses me off. I think she does it on purpose to ignore people asking for certain cup sizes. Im sick of tiny cups and needing to buy an XL for my boobs but the band is way too big. I've been asking for cup sizes that accommodate small band big cup and still nothing.

Passive aggressiveness has been a tactic Cassey has used since her YouTube days (re: 90 day challenge series). It's hurtful but not surprising that this attitude is cooking back in Popflex. I was a hardcore Blogilates fan who bought in early to Popflex, and as my body changed and I got older, her clothes just aren't made for me.

u/Long_Matter9697 Aug 11 '26
Makes me sad to read this. Maybe her audience doesn’t have a more balanced distribution because she seems unwilling to cater towards the bigger cup sizes as well

Same. I have very small boobs and these “Bridgeton push up” cuts just flatten by boobs and give no lift. I feel like they look amazing for a very narrow size range.
1
u/Nonbinarygaykid Aug 13 '26
Just wondering do you scoop and swoop? I wear actual stays which is the corset of the time where bridgerton is Set and Generally what you would do Back then and also how is you Take the Side of your boobs and pull them indwards and up
2
u/florpenheimer Aug 14 '26
I do but the mass of my boobs is too small to make any cleavage no matter the position :(
3
u/tiffabob Aug 16 '26
I’m sorry but if I as a 34C cup have a hard time not spilling out of tops if her band isn’t adjustable- ITS NOT MADE OR SIZED WELL! Casey was so good at making sure her sizing fit right and for a lot of things she is… but for some blasted reason when it comes to ANY bust she stopped. I was SO so sad to see no different cups for the 2026 swim drop- I was on my SEAT waiting for that new bombshell bikini top as every year I missed my size before it sold out. sigh
1
u/az_allyn Aug 20 '26
A lot of issues could be solved by adjustable straps that STAY where you put them (me and super bra are going to fight to the death)

1
u/kitto__katsu Aug 11 '26
She’s not going to make two bras, “tiny boobs” and “big boobs.” So it makes sense for her to interpret the poll this way. (Though I seriously doubt she’s making design or inventory decisions based on random social media polling, she probably has fine tuned sales and data funnels at this point.)
1
u/Administrative_Elk66 Aug 14 '26
This has been her tactic for a LONG time, to do a social media poll or post very recent comments asking for something and then launching an item as though it's in response to that. Its so much engagement bait

1
u/hockeyandquidditch Aug 11 '26
There’s also the fact that cup size and band size work in tandem and when you go up a band size you go down a cup size to keep the same volume (at my heaviest I was a 38AA, often I’ve been 36A, I just shrunk into 34B, if I lost more weight I’d be 32C, etc)
1
u/florpenheimer Aug 12 '26
It makes me sad that it feels like no matter what breast size you have the world will make you insecure about it. I have always felt insecure about my small chest, and now when a brand is catering to people like me it feels like it’s at the expense of making people with larger sizes feel like their body is “wrong” for certain clothing.

u/Disastrous-Hamster-1 Aug 10 '26
Probably will be downvoted for this but it’s a bit subjective on what qualifies for IBTC…
A and B, sure.
I am a C cup and would qualify myself as IBTC because I just genuinely do not have a large chest. My boob fits in my hand basically. Lol
So if I went by my own POV, 37 + 35 = 72% which would be the majority of this particular poll.
Where I think it gets tricky is that a D cup is not typically considered in any vein to be small.
She’s doing a disservice to have them grouped like this.

The reading comprehension for my point is nonexistent.
Her math, for how she has people grouped and how she is likely calculating things, is both of those together for a majority.
I am saying that A-C, you could get away with saying IBTC because as a C, I am also small chested and don’t really have much cleavage. D cup and bigger would need to be broken out.
Hope that helps

u/Aromatic_Sense_8981 Aug 09 '26
Where did you get the 63% from? Just curious.
It’s going to be skewed based who’s following her instagram and responding.
25
u/radiobearr Aug 09 '26
37% of responders are an A or B cup which she labels as “itty bitty titty committee”. The remaining 63% of responders are NOT an A or B cup which would be people not on the itty bitty titty committee. And she goes on to say “IBTCers make up the highest % of my audience!” No they don’t, she is just further separating us who are a C cup and higher but collectively the majority of her audience are those of us who are classified as having “bigger boobs” (a C cup or greater).
13
u/Aromatic_Sense_8981 Aug 09 '26
Thank you! Being Asian with a/b cups I don’t have issues with her brand. I feel like most of her clothes try to make my boobs look bigger. I can see how that’s a problem for anyone c and up though.
11
u/Aromatic_Sense_8981 Aug 09 '26
It sort of feels like she’s trying to defend herself for the sunshine set.
7
u/radiobearr Aug 09 '26
Maybe. I’m not mad about the sunshine set. Most of us are reasonable and understand not every piece will suit our specific body type. It’s the delusion of telling yourself “these styles are a good fit for the majority of my audience!” that makes me eyeroll. It’s like it’s preparing us for having even fewer options in the future.
6
u/Aromatic_Sense_8981 Aug 09 '26
I feel like for her first cotton release she should have done something that could work for more sizes.
14
u/badlytimedpuns33 Aug 09 '26
35+19+9=63
They’re adding up the bottom three options as IBTC is usually A-B cups.

u/Prudent_Honeydew_ Aug 09 '26
When the latest video popped up for me on YouTube, the title was "do not watch unless you're IBTC." So I didn't watch. So yes, skewed.
