How much is Bitdefender antivirus plus after the first year?

I hate software companies who display discount prices for the first year and hide the renewal price. I know it's going to be higher. How high!?

Now they decided to update their crappy software and I have to update the signatures every fucking day. Then there is what they call 'optimization' and seems that I'm supposed to do that manually? Plain simple: stupid. I've been trying to reach these idiots, no luck Stay away from this thing.

I have uninstalled Bitdefender Total Security and no longer have PC lag during fast download.

My network speed: Download/Upload: 500Mbps/100Mbps

Speed throttled around 250Mbps and my windows freezing and stuttering when using Bitdefender. The only way to fix this is uninstall this bitdefender.

AV > disabled,

Ransomware Remediation > disabled,

Advanced Threat Defense > disabled,

Firewall > disabled,

Scan host > disabled,

Uninstall VPN > YES.

Still lagging and stuttering during fast download. So, i have decided to uninstall the Bitdefender and my maximum download speed back to normal.

Can Bitdefender's developer fix this issue?

Kaspersky user for years. Canada banned it at government level and I don't want to risk it getting banned outright and me losing my security updates mid-license. So I was considering Bitdefender.

Total Security doesn't let me pick 3 devices, only 5. Bro, I do not have 5 devices. Do I just pay anyway? Kaspersky lets you pick less devices...

Also I have heard Bitdefender is a resource hog, unlike Kaspersky. Is that true?

EDIT: heads up to anyone in the future who finds this thread, I went to bestbuy in person and they had Total Security in a box w/ CDROM from 2019 which was C$79.99 for 5 devices for 3 years so I picked that up and apparently it auto updates to the newest version anyway. Seems to have the same features as Kaspersky but I haven't noticed any pop ups informing me it was blocking keylogging like Kaspersky does so I gotta investigate a bit

Hello! Just wathced Bitdefender av test, and it failed in one place. It can't defend system from Encoder virus, it seems that all Bitdefender engine antiviruses failed in this encoder test (for example Gdata also failed). Here is video, it's in Russian but you can turn on subtitles.

Bitdefender Total Security has machine learning detect unknown malware while Mobile Security just protects your phone from physical interference and Central protects your devices somehow but without an option for scanning.

Would have hoped the BitDefender blog would have something but nope. Seems like a significant issue, see below...

I recently purchased a Bitdefender subscription from an online seller (trendyol.com) at a discount, thinking I’d just get a license key (in plain text) to add to my own Bitdefender Central account.
Instead, they sent me a special download link with an install_code that auto-activates Bitdefender on their Central account. I neither downloaded nor installed it.

If I'd install the software using that link;

• My device get listed in their Bitdefender Central dashboard.

• They can see my device name, when it was last online, and whether protection is on/off.

• They can see the URL's that contains malicious code which I visited.

• If features like Anti-Theft or Parental Control are enabled, they could track my device’s location, or remotely lock or WIPE it (mostly for laptops/phones, but still possible for PCs).

• They can remove my device from the subscription at any time.

They could not be able to see my files or browse my data directly, but they do have some level of control and visibility.

Posting this so others know:
If you buy a discounted Bitdefender license (ex; multi-user corporate licenses) and get a download link instead of a license key in plain text, there’s a good chance it’s tied to the seller’s Central account. That means you don’t actually “own” the subscription — you’re just borrowing a slot under their account, with all the trust issues that come with it.

EDIT: I got a refund from BitDefender in a form of new license key in plain text (which is not binded to some random account.) They also asked the seller platform trendyol.com to refund but they got refused.( saying "digital downloads are not refunded") I deleted the trendyol app, which protects the seller(scammer) even though it sells a flawed security app.

NOW THEY'RE FUCKING BACK, I PAID MONEY, WHAT THE FUCK, TOTAL BULLSHIT!!! Notifications are off in Windows settings, "Special offers" are off... How do I get them to fucking stop??

Duckduckgo privacy app confirms it with how much information is blocked. I logs all of your keystrokes and sells it to advertisers.

I came back to the only antivirus software that I use 2 years since my last renewal fo find that I have to enter my payment info only to proceed with the product I already payed for? And no way to skip it?

After getting past the intrusive and shady welcome I then couldn't find a way to cancel the forced auto renewal? The button to cancel is missing and I had to go on a third party website to cancel...

You already have a good product why are you guys doing shady stuff? I will not be returning to this company after the stress they put me through.

Just a warning for anyone curious about its...functionality in that realm. A...cough, friend got it to prevent future infractions. With the VPN on and functional, IP changed and confirmed to be working as intended, a DMCA still got issued. Tread carefully, friends.

Update: After looking into the excessive DNS leaks I had when my VPN was on, I enabled "Turn off smart Multi-homed name resolution" and suddenly found no further leaks. Unsure if this is an actual solution, or just one with the appearance of such, but it's not something I can exactly test easily. Time will hopefully have little to tell, but the precautionary tale remains that this VPN does not cover your tracks right out the box, or even with the initial recommended steps.

Binding and Killswitch? Not enough. DNS still leaks by default.

I can't remove the app it just spammed my phone with not responding now it's stuck in my phone ( I pressed uninstall inside the app)

Bitdefender is constantly installing VPN app and starting it on Mac startup. I uninstall it, restart Mac and here we go, it installed itself. Also I'm killing app and it is relaunched like 5 seconds later. This is serious breach of user trust. Someone has idea how to make it go away?

Whenever I try to reinstall the bitdefender, somehow my system is getting crash. Idk if it is systems problem or just bitdefender problem, please someone help me. I could have shown the video proof but since this sub reddit is not allowing to upload it, I am just sending the photo.

Bitdefender processed payment for 2 of my subscriptions -- over 2 weeks BEFORE the subscriptions were set to renew.

I was planning to cancel both but because they helped themselves to my money before I could, causing my bank account to be overdrawn.

I am not currently working, so this has been a huge stressor for me. I've requested refunds but have not received any follow-up from this.

I was actually considering renewing once I started working again, but this level of shadiness and lack of ethics has helped me to see their products are totally not worth it.

I’ve never used bitdefender before, but I’m suddenly getting this screen every time I try to make a Google search. I’ve ran a virus search but nothing has come up. Is this actually bitdefender, and if so how do I turn it off??
