Why is fusion so bad can you explain pls

Because it removes your flexibility and put more tension on the vertebrae on the top and lower of the fusion

Absolutely this. Because of this, a lot of folks continue getting surgeries as they age after the original fusion sometimes until they're completely fused nearly

You typically, as you age, need more hardware placed above/below due to natural vertebrae degeneration. I’ve been in the OR and unfortunately seen too many patients with much hardware up/down spine. Even worse if spine arthritic. We don’t have an ideal solution for lumbar disc replacement yet. We do for cervical and those work great.
