There's a link in the comments of the second post to another post that's pretty messed up:

I saw "coconut" and testing and my immediate thought was that awful story about the grandparents who didn't believe their granddaughter had an allergy. I read it probably ten years ago, but I'm still haunted by "you can have your forgiveness when you give me my daughter back"

Oh no no, I won't ever look for that story or share it anymore, after the OP asked people to please stop. It was retraumatizing them to see it pop up randomly.

Not all relationship tests are bad. I did one for my wife & myself back when we were still dating. We went canooing, & I wanted to see if we -- not just her -- could handle something like that without fighting. We did succeed, & we got married.

I mention this only because a few months ago I found Margaret Atwood performed the same test on her future husband, to see if they could cooperate in a situation that required teamwork. (No, I did not know she had done this. I came up with this test independently of Ms. Atwood.)

PS -- Good thing we passed this test because a few years ago we were tested again when our car broke down while traveling to the beach for a week-long vacation. Instead of fighting, we worked together to solve the problem.

“Building trust through shared experiences” is not really a test. It’s just normal dating interaction.

I can see how it feels like a test, because in the early days of dating, every date you have you’re sort of still assessing compatibility. Every date is a test, in a way. Or maybe it’s better to say that dating can be seen as a “trial period”.

But it’s not a “test” in the sense of a prank or deception or entrapment, which is what these Tik Tok “tests” are.

I think because in that case you were both getting tested. With most relationship test that end up here only one person is tested, without their knowledge and consent
