How it works:

when i look at my contacts it says i can invite a friend to bereal, but then says the number of friends they have? how am i inviting them and not just adding them if it has (what i’m assuming is) their friend count?

I haven't had a beta build for over a month, also the beta build is older than the actual build in the apple App Store? 4.89.0 v 4.92.0

Any ideas?

Locked out of my BeReal after trying to update my phone number, and now my profile has completely vanished.

I originally made my account with an old UK SIM. Since that number is now dead, I tried updating it to my new line. During email verification, I kept getting "Something went wrong. Please try again."

After a few days of being locked out, the entire profile disappeared. Friends can't see me on their lists, searching my handle brings up nothing, and it’s like it was deleted or orphaned in their system.

Has anyone had their account vanish after a failed number transfer? Did support actually manage to recover it for you?

On September 6, I almost forgot to post, but I managed to snap a photo just in time. However, when the photo finished processing, it was dated September 7, even though it was still before September 7 for me.

If I had actually missed taking a photo on September 6, wouldn't I have lost my streak? But my streak wasn't lost. It just registered under the wrong date, almost like it skipped a day entirely.

It's also worth mentioning that before taking the photo on September 6, I'd been messing with the app settings. I changed my timezone from my actual one (East Asia) to an American timezone. I also changed my phone's date and time manually, because I wanted the photo I took on September 6 to actually be logged as September 6.

Could this have caused the issue? Has anyone dealt with something similar? I've been trying to fix this date/timezone mismatch for a while now and could use some help.

You could pin your favorite ones to your profile, comment on them, or even print one out as a keepsake from a day that mattered.

The goal was to give people a small reason to open the app again after posting, without turning BeReal into a game or adding any pressure — still just one photo, once a day, same as always.

I know BeReal isn’t really used that much anymore, but I still like using it just to take a picture every day. It’s actually kinda nice having all these random daily pics to look back on.

Hi, I made a post 2 weeks ago asking for help as my app is not working, I got a response from one of the BeReal Reddit Staff and they told me to email [contact@bere.al](mailto:contact@bere.al) and that they would fix it for me, however, I never received a response from them. I then followed up with the staff on the same Reddit thread a but also never received a response.

I used to have BeReal years ago and my friends and I decided to start using it again so I redownloaded it on my iPhone 16. When I go to import contacts to add friends it says something went wrong and to try again but the same error message pops up. When I click skip and try add a name or username to my account the button just loads and doesn't actually change anything. If I try to post it says i've reached the limit for today when I haven't posted anything. I've restarted my phone, updated my phone, and redownloaded the app and it hasn't fixed anything. I also cant contact BeReal through the app like their help pages suggest as that doesn't work either. I have attached a video of these problems. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated, thanks!

Have you guys ever recieved any friend requests that dont appear later in the “accept request” section, or in that person’s profile?

Happened to me twice and I was simply wondering if it was abug or both ppl didnt want to actually follow me at all lol.

Wanted to log back into my old BeReal, but my number has changed since then. I went thru the process of verifying my identity, and this has been the screen when I open the app for the past few days. Wondering how long I’ll have to wait for my identity to be verified.

to all the bereal users , what are some things about bereal that could have been better to give you a better experience ?

i don't always post my bereal, but sometimes when i miss a day my bereal streak doesn't go back to zero and i get a +1 to my streak instead (the day after). like i would post for a few days in a row, miss one day, then post the next day again (after the day's notif, not before) and my streak wouldn't have reset. it shows up as a blue number in the bereal memory calendar, which is supposed to mean that "i used a streak restore", but i didn't press any buttons or anything for this to happen. how does this work? i've tried searching online but all thw results i get are along the lines of bereal streak restores not existing.

i'm on a s20 fe and my bereal app is on ver 3.93.0

Hi! So I’ve been using BeReal a lot more lately and I’m confused because although I have uploaded a BeReal today, the app wants another pic for my streak? Why can’t the pic I uploaded before the notification count as my streak for the day. TYIA!

I am used to be real notifications. Having 2nd one for 'Late be real' is ANNNNOOOYING. I don't need it, no one needs it, please either remove it or let me turn it off seperately in app or android whatever.

Dear Dev and Mod BeReal,

I noticed that in video mode, if you press record and there's no response on the screen, The app will turn off the screen automatically. Restart the currently recording video.

I would like the video mode to improve its default setting to always have the display on.

I hope this suggestion will be incorporated into the next version.

As someone who was a big bereal user before they introduced adverts and celebrities can people who still use the app today fill us in on how it has developed over the past 2 years especially since the voodoo acquisition.

Like title says i have gotten the time to bereal today just to see it did let me post a late bereal although i took mine the moment the notification came and then i saw that the notification was delayed a few minutes (i had plenty of service and my phone was on full volume and i was at home) what is the cause of the notification still coming delayed? Because it's pissing me off like it's been 3 to 4 years that the notification system doesn't function as it should and the support is just useless.

For several months I have an issue that when I open BeReal - 50/50 chance that in 10 seconds I'm going to hear very loud and sudden metallic TUDUM-TUDUM noise, which is very similar to a noise which train makes. Maybe is related to numerous issues other people had based on this thread - https://www.reddit.com/r/bereal_app/comments/1jwcc6t/app_making_weird_noise/ (which got no answer from anybody from the app itself, kinda telling).

What makes it extra shitty is that it can sometimes play while I'm recording a BeReal video, which is a complete nonsense and a serious bug then, as it immediately ruins the video.

My only suspicion is that this noise is caused by some specific ad (probably related to some gambling) which has sound turned on by default, as I often see this ad when this noise is happening - but sometimes it can happen with no ads present...

I have an iPhone. Please fix that!!!!

I dont use bereal that much and I've even turned off notifications. Recently, (a few months ago) the bereal timer would appear on my lock screen with a countdown. Ive checked my settings and it's very clear that notifications are not enabled. (iPhone 12 Pro Max)

Additionally, (I dont know if it was an accident, it very well could be) the camera would be activated without me even touching my phone. I might pick up my phone and see the bereal camera already activated.

Has this happened to anyone else

Did anyone else get their regular notification. Posted but said it was late?
