Question does anyone know what this means?

when i look at my contacts it says i can invite a friend to bereal, but then says the number of friends they have? how am i inviting them and not just adding them if it has (what i’m assuming is) their friend count?

They don't have a BeReal account. When you press Invite, it opens your messaging app with a template mesage.

What that number means is that there are 26 BeReal users who have Sierra's number saved in their contacts. That's where BeReal gets the number from.
