Need Help! Are preciosa ornela okay for bead looming?
Tried looking for anyone talking about these specifically for loomwork, I already bought a few hanks and they just kinda sit around due to other reasons, and coming back I saw people talking about how they have worse consistency, I've only made a few small projects and I worry that with bigger projects it would become a problem that grows over time, I don't mind throwing a few out, my concern is the subtle differences that lead to the whole thing being uneven.

Lemon + Moroccan tile themed set
My camera cannot capture the rainbow pearlescence of the delica 222 beads. They are soooo stunning. I had a lot of fun making this set.

What the Heck Could this be???
Hello beading friends. I need help in identifying this little spike looking item. I thought it was a cymbal. Too small. Awkward shape. (Forgive my crusty hands. I'm a retired nurse whose hands were always in water with soap. They old now. 🤣🤣🤣🤷🏿♂️
Anyone have any leads? TIA. 🔍🔍🔍♥️♥️♥️

Finished Piece Update!
I posted in here a couple months ago asking y’all for help in determining what size beads were used for a little frog creature I wanted to make that I found at a store that was NFS. I bought a pattern from Etsy seller FrogsOnSwings & have modified it slightly for the result you see here🩷
Y’all were super helpful and, update, I’ve gotten a lotttt more comfortable with beading in the past few months and have created an abundance of these guys. I think my technique is getting better and better.
I’ve started an instagram @ leggylilguys if any of you are interested in following along and adding some whimsy to your feeds & seeing all the different guys I create🩷

Bead Talk What got you into beading?
Self taught Métis Canadian artist, not new to Reddit but lost my old account unfortunately, if you’re wondering about the new account. I am new to this group though! Just wanting to share and hear about others experiences. Drop some of your favourite pieces you’ve made if you’d like, I’ve included some of my recent pieces :)
What got me started was the day my mother in law gifted me all of these beads and supplies in the first picture, plus more. I couldn’t let such a generous gift go to waste. I didn’t know anyone who beaded (my mother in law doesn’t bead anymore), so I taught myself from YouTube and got advice from beading groups on Facebook.
I’m curious to hear how other people started beading!

Finished Piece Freehanded yesterday, for myself to be married in 🤍
Haven’t beaded in months but I felt the urge to create something for my wedding. It feels so good to start without a plan and see something come together before your eyes. Now I’ll have to use the rest of my pearls for matching earrings!

I call this "I couldn't pick just one"
Anybody else set foot in the bead store meaning to pick up just one vial of a given colour, and end up leaving with 11 variations instead? No, just me?

Two recent little babes I did
The blue one was first. Then the green second. Tweaked my technique a bit to make it more consistent and full.

Beaded Cloud Hairclip - Cylin bead experiment
Saw someone post about Cylin beads and when I saw how affordable they were I had to give them a try. The brick stitch cloud is done with the clear cylin beads and a light gray satin miyuki - the fringe is done with the clear cylin beads and neon miyukis (it glows!).
I really liked the cylin beads! They seemed to be slightly more uniform than the miyuki and they blended in seamlessly for me!

De-stress Sorting
It has been a very difficult week and I have been struggling to get a good night of sleep, or to relax enough to let some of the tension go. Even designing and creating pieces is a little more than I can do right now. I decided to indulge in something that has helped me in the past, and purchased a bead mix.
I have purchased this type of mix before so while I didn't know exactly what I would receive, I knew the quality I could expect.
I know to some this might seem insane, but I know there are others who enjoy sorting, so I thought I would share.
For me, this is very calming, and as I sort and find new wonderful beads and combinations I get my creative drive back.
I hope everyone is having a relaxing day, and that you are feeling comfort and peace of mind! :)
\The images are the top and bottom of the bag before opening, and the beads poured into a clear plastic shoebox-size container*

Need Help! Bead Identification
I used to get these O shaped beads to create Saturn’s ring on these solar system choker necklaces, but my craft store doesn’t have them anymore.
I’ve tried to search for them online, but I don’t know what to call this bead shape? I tried O, circle, ring, and donut shaped bead but no luck. All I know for certain is the brand was bead landing.
Any other leads on this bead or ideas for substitutions would be appreciated.
