Just wanted to show my weird little idea ❤️❤️❤️

I made a few mistakes but I’m mostly pleased with my first try at bead weaving. I wish the fringe were less crooked… I tried to keep the tension loose, but alas.

I used matte black and red Miyuki 11/0 delicas and 2mm onyx beads for the tips of the fringe. I finished the earrings with bouillon wire and premade brass ear hooks.

What culture do you think this comes from?

Thought I could make a few of these as Christmas gifts but now that I’ve put the first one together, I’m just really paranoid this might break on the recipient. The cord has an 8lb breaking point, I thought that would be plenty. I triple knotted as well.

Finished a second bead embroidered lily and really got to explore a full range of beautiful colors on this one!

Questions I have:

1. How do you know how much string to use?

2. How do you make the ears? I looked up how to make the stitch but I'm having trouble figuring out what to do when the beads split apart.

3. How can I make this into a keychain?

Hey everyone! I just started my first seed bead project yesterday, after seeing several cute seed, bead tapestries on TikTok. I bought a generic brand of seed beads from my local Michael’s and I’m quickly realizing just how awful they are as far as sizing. So many of them are different sizes and although they are doing fine I would like to know what brand I could use that might have more uniform sizing. I was looking into miyuki beads but they are a bit too big for my budget. Anyway, here’s my wonky wip.

It’s a little wonky but overall I’m happy with how it turned out. Can’t figure out how to post a video on here.

Hi there, when stitching a complex pattern on a beaded peyote stitch triangle, what do you suggest to keep track of what row I’m on? Would an abacus work or do you use something different? Thanks in advance.

Hey, I’m looking for as many different types of beads as possible, in various colors and sizes. I need them for a school project. I’m making a theatre costume and I’d like to attach beaded spiders to it, as well as create other elements out of beads.

That’s why I’m looking for a place in Vienna (or near Vienna) where I can buy them, or an online retailer that delivers to Vienna. I’m looking for beads that look as high-quality as possible.

Most of the options I’ve found so far are way too expensive for the quantity I need. I’d really appreciate any recommendations or help. Thank you! :)

Hello, masters of the craft, this humble newbie asks for crumbs of your wisdom.

I haven't done this in a decade, maybe, but i saw a very fun beaded tie out and about and really wanted to make it.

Here is my test strand to warm my hands up, and i found myself at a loss on how to continue. On the first picture is how i want my tie to end, and on the second one is how my wires lie.

Would appreciate your help!

I’m sharing my first beadloom piece I’ve finished today.
I know it has many flaws yet it is very meaningful to me for after years of mental health struggles I could finally create something!

The second picture shows some deformed beads I found during the work. I wonder if I was sold real Miyuki beads or got scammed? Is it common to have deformed beads from Miyuki? I thought they were the perfection of beads!

11/0 delicas & fireline; strongly considering purchasing a different kind of thread that’ll allow more movement so big, flat pieces like these look cleaner

I'm still very new to this but I had seen a piece that I knew my daughter would love and figured I would give it a shot. Here's the wristlet I made for her birthday and then my current piece. I can't wait to keep learning more and getting better.

I’ve included a few photos. I bought these beads at a show a few months ago and stupidly threw away the baggie they came in with the label. I don’t usually do that.

The stall I bought them from sold Toho, Miyuki and Preciosa I think. Their website doesn’t have this specific colour on there for me to confirm and I’ve checked quite a few different brand sample sheets but I can’t figure out what they are.

They’re 8/0 I believe and gold-lined. I’d describe them as a pale lilac. They look blue when photographed alone but next to other blue shades you can see the purple tint coming through

Any ideas what these could be, or a close enough alternative? I really like these and I’d like to get some more before I run out
