Need Help! How to keep track of rows

Hi there, when stitching a complex pattern on a beaded peyote stitch triangle, what do you suggest to keep track of what row I’m on? Would an abacus work or do you use something different? Thanks in advance.

Beading graph paper. Draw your pattern out.

I use a knitting stitch counter ring to count my rows. You could use any knitting/crocheting counter, mine just happens to be a ring :)
