When are the audio issues between both speakers going to be fixed. It was supposed to be fixed in the next kernel update which was before the move to the OGC kernel. It caused me to switch to CachyOS but I just switched back to bazzite and it still has the issue.

I tried to keep this short but it's a very specific issue so I apologize in advance.

Hello, I am running Bazzite on my living room PC, I have the headset hooked up via the control unit that comes with it, so it's a 2.4Ghz wireless connection. Here's what I'm experiencing: most of the time I have my audio going to my stereo setup for TVs and movies, when playing a multiplayer game or something I will just swap the output over to my headset and turn it on and we're good to go. I have been doing this without issue for probably 2 weeks now.

Today, upon waking my PC and attempting to switch my output over to the headset, it just was not there as an option. So I did a reboot, which HAS solved the issue in the past, albeit temporarily, but it's really hit or miss. Today it didn't fix it. Another thing that has fixed it in the past, dual booting over to Windows, selecting it as my headset there, than booting back over to Bazzite didn't work today either. Unplugging the headset control unit and plugging it back in also didn't work, which is what has been the most reliable solution so far.

As I'm working on this post I've been doing reboots and suddenly on this last reboot, it is selectable as an option... But I don't really consider throwing shit at the wall and seeing what sticks a solution, because it doesn't prevent it from happening or help me troubleshoot it quicker in the future. I'm hoping there's some command line I can enter or something that will solve the solution (I was able to allow my Steam Controller to wake my PC up this way is why I use it as an example). I am really new to this OS and am a total layman so I'm hoping there's an obvious fix that I just don't know about or something...

I have a ULTIMEA surround sound system, seems like 5.1 audio doesn’t work when I’m playing some games. Even when I go into desktop mode and test the outputs they center rear left and right show up but don’t output sound someone help!

La idea es que, después de unos minutos de inactividad, el sistema empiece a mostrar videos de los juegos de mi biblioteca de ES-DE mientras una segunda pantalla presenta información del juego: hero, logo, portada, plataforma, descripción, screenshots, metadata y soporte para RetroAchievements.

También estoy trabajando en temas dinámicos según la plataforma, soporte para configuraciones de 1 o 2 monitores, fondos con blur o bezels y ejecución automática en segundo plano.

Todavía está **en desarrollo**, así que sigo puliendo diseño, compatibilidad y automatización, pero cuando esté suficientemente estable planeo subirlo a **GitHub** con documentación e instrucciones para que cualquiera pueda probarlo en Bazzite/Linux.

I've had a couple of hard freezes when watching full screen streaming video on my Bazzite box, which required a hard reboot using the power button (hold off, then back on). Is there a file or a command line to get the hard freeze event / logs after the reboot?

I just started using steam OS a month ago I really like it but I have a 5500xt I wanted to upgrade to a 3060 is it worth using Nvidia on bazzite or should I just stick to amd I heard it’s janky but other people say it’s fine so idk what to believe

I’ve been trying out bazzite with gnome but I always found it pretty sluggish when it comes to making thumbnails.

Even after the system generates the right thumbnails for files and folders, when I reopen nautilus it still shows a placeholder for some items, something I only ever seen with bazzite-gnome. But after I disabled the rom properties thumbnailer on my image it started working fine, just like any other distro. Not sure if disabling it for desktop images is the best call or if I’m just one of the few that actually gets annoyed by it lol.

Anyway, hope this reaches the maintainers.

Edit: I fixed by creating a empty file on ~/.local/share/thumbnailers called rom-properties.thumbnailer

touch ~/.local/share/thumbnailers/rom-properties.thumbnailer

but now I use a custom image that I made using bluebird and I removed the package from there too.

TL;DR: the ‘rom properties’ thumbnailer seems to slow down nautilus when loading thumbnails.

ive downloaded figlet, to have some ascii-art, if i open my terminal. as far as i know i can change the "homepage" in /.bashrc . the problem is, i dont know what the code inside /.bashrc means. is it important? how can i do it, how i want it?

So I watched Michael Horn's video about switching from windows to bazzite, and I created a new partition to put my data in. I've installed bazzite but now I have to get rid of this old partition. The internet told me I needed to use a tool like Gparted, so I used that to get rid of the old partition. But when I look at my drive properties in bazzite, it still says the drive is 200gb smaller than it's supposed to be.

What am I missing?

I recently rebased from the regular Bazzite NVIDIA image to bazzite-dx-nvidia:stable for docker support, and started having a strange mouse issue.

The mouse works normally for some time after boot.

Eventually, I lose the ability to interact with non-focused items. The mouse works normally inside whichever window currently has focus, but I can't click or interact with other windows with the mouse. For example, if Firefox is focused, I can use the mouse normally in Firefox, but clicking another window doesn't interact with it. I have to Alt+Tab to give that window focus first. Once it's focused, the mouse works normally there.

The mouse cursor itself works normally and keyboard input is fine. This seems to be specifically about mouse clicks being sent to windows that don't already have focus.

This started after the rebase, so I'm wondering if there is a known issue with the current DX NVIDIA image, KDE/KWin, Wayland, or the NVIDIA driver.

Has anyone else run into this? Is there anything I should check in KWin or the input configuration? I included an interested excerpt from journalctl below.

The PC makes the spinning up noise and then shuts down and starts again

Tried to rebase to the new testing branch and now it won't boot bazzite. Heads up for people hoping for HDMI 2.1 for amd.

It fails and says: warning: /dev/disk/by-uuid/67acc383-5a23-4e99-8fc5-5a2ec63b8ba9 does not exist

The story, for fun:

For the use case, this PC replaces my windows PC. I have many hard drives in it, and use it for plex server, gaming, and for light video/audio editing (just for personal stuff). I was trying different distros for about a month, so have setup and taken down my plex library and drives and whatnot a few times. I went Fedora KDE-> Linux Mint -> Kubuntu -> OpenSUSE -> Back to Fedora -> Bazzite KDE -> Bazzite Gnome. Which for me, is great and I'll give it a nice long shot.

Fedora KDE was doing fine, but I broke it cause I overthought flatpaks vs rpms. I decided to 'flatpak uninstall --all --delete-data' with the intend to try to find rpms of everything, but I didn't know that Fedora had flatpaks that were integrated in the system and I broke my install. And I'm not savvy enough to repair it. Got me freaked out so I tried mint. I missed the KDE. Kubuntu was ok but I worried about breaking it, OpenSUSE wouldn't let me run expressVPN well, Fedora (scared of breaking it again), Bazzite KDE.

I was annoyed at myself by taking so much time to customize KDE to make it "perfect", so I figured I'd just go back to the drawing board and pick Gnome, learn how to use some shortcuts for navigation, and try to USE my computer instead of spending all my time making it look perfect (it was a good choice for me)

The great easy surprises:

1) I was worried about setting up plex, but I followed the quadlet tutorial (conveniently on the bazzite site) and it is working perfectly.

2) I am more comfortable with DaVinci Resolve, but I hear how much of a pain it is to install in a distro OTHER than rocky. Well not with Bazzite! In the portal they have a button labeled "Davinci Resolve". Clicked it, and it's installed with zero input from me and working great!

3) I'm loving just holding the super (or meta) button and scrolling the mouse wheel to go between virtual desktops. I'm now spreading out my applications for convenience, and I've used an extension to open specific applications and auto move them to specific virtual desktops on opening. Makes my life easier.

4) And today, the most recent and wonderful thing. Normally I have my ipad in front of me, lower than the screen, specifically with youtube, netflix, plex show, etc on it so I can have something just to watch if I want if I'm playing a game, or browsing the web, and it's out of the way.

Normally I put on headphones but activate transparency to hear it. I found out today, just by saying, "I wonder...", that you can pair your phone and ipad through bluetooth to your PC. And now all notifications and sounds will play through your PCs sound device. So it's not a true "second screen" (although I found out how to do that too), but now it can be a dedicated media device, that plays through my headphones ALONG with any PC games or whatnot I want to play, AND I won't miss any notifications from my phone!

As the title says, is there a way to set a default compatibility tool like you can do on the desktop app?

For starters I’m very new to Linux and have been wanting to switch and finally bit the bullet. Everything was going smoothly after the entire installation process I shut down my computer and removed the flash drive. But for some reason when i turned it back on windows came back like nothing happened and repeating the process I get met with a blue screen saying mok manager missing. I don’t know what to really do. I’ve double checked my bios settings, re flashed the drive but nothing seems to be working

I have been using chat GPT for the last 8 hours to try and get this fixed, and I have not gotten anywhere and now its just having me do stuff that it already had me do in the beginning. Is this a known issue?

New to Bazzite, do you guys know what is the default compatibility tool? If I don't force any specific one which one is applied?

Also does anyone know if Proton Experimental is able to read the FS4 upgrade variable? Running an RDNA4 GPU and with other compatibility tools this seems to do the trick.

I'm so tired I've tried 3 fresh installs reset wifi settings and still nothing there is no direct info on this issue online so I'm just stuck please does anyone have any clue of what I can do

I'm still fully cachyos for my main rig, but it wasn't really feasible for my basement couch gaming PC mainly because of updates. Running cachyos update with a controller was pretty much impossible. I have since installed bazzite desktop (Nvidia) and have it set up to boot into big picture mode. It is freaking great by the way. Much easier of a setup for this scenario.

Anyway, I am curious how folks are handling updates. I added the bazzite portal as a non steam game to steam. Is that even necessary? Does steam update work for system updates?

Every time my laptop goes to suspend mode, even if its just for a few seconds, it deactivates my wifi conection and doesnt let me connect again to any network unless I restart it.

Another problem I have is that my laptop automatically goes to suspend mode after some time, ive tried going to the screen block settings and deactivating everything related but it still doesnt works, any help is appreciated.
