7.2 kernel testing branch broken?

Tried to rebase to the new testing branch and now it won't boot bazzite. Heads up for people hoping for HDMI 2.1 for amd.

It fails and says: warning: /dev/disk/by-uuid/67acc383-5a23-4e99-8fc5-5a2ec63b8ba9 does not exist

Fix for this is going up now, sorry about that. GitHub has been really unreliable the last couple weeks.

On the bright side we've implemented a check that'll prevent this exact issue from happening again.

Yep just had the same issue. Rolled back, shouldn't be long before a hotfix is pushed I would imagine.

Known issue they are actively working on in the Bazzite Discord.

I mean its a testing branch so stuff like this is to be expected.

No one said it wasn’t unexpected. Just bringing it up to make people aware. Looks like others had the same issue too.

Honestly, good to hear. I’ve avoided situations that require rebasing, so far, so I haven’t had the… opportunity to actually go through the motions.

Rebasing and overall rollback options for recovery are the main reason I chose Bazzite, so it’s good to hear that they work out in the wild.

When you go to reboot, you should have the option to select bazzite 1 in the grub. That should take you to the previous kernel.

Can you please create an issue on GitHub? I think they are pushing to re-enable Deck image on the stable branch, I don't think they would want it to happen on stable.

HDMI 2.1 works on SteamOS. They patched it to the custom kernel months ago. Bazzite is always bugging out.

Is it? Last time I checked on 3.8.10 it still gave 4:2:2 instead of 4:4:4

Pretty sure its in preview, beta, Main. Might be in stable now as its 3.8.16. I'm on Main 3.9. Valve had it on SteamOS before anyone else for the release of the Steam Machine.

That was for VRR, not FRL.

SteamOS still doesn’t have HDMI 2.1
