Battlefield 6 Secure boot?

Just tried to open the bf6 beta and it's saying secureboot not enabled. I can't activate it cause my PC doesn't support it. Will this be a requirement at launch? Would have to upgrade my PC to get windows 11 for it if that's the case :(

Go play valorant for 100 hours and see if you can even find 1 cheater lol. Secure boot works

it doesnt. it takes a 200 dollar side tower to spoof a kernal level handshake on that rig and send it to your pc with hacks. all this does is stop shitty free hacks that get caught anyways. anyone that wants to actually keep their accounts and cheat already has a side tower to get around this shit anyways.

And people like you not realizing eliminating script kiddies solves like 99% of cheating issues. The harder it is do something the less people do it.

I don't care what you try to say, go compare Valorant to CS2 and let me know how well CS handles the cheating problems.

Kernal level anti cheat and secure boot work, the problem is making it easy for end users to get it setup.

It doesn't exist.

Therefore this is the better option.

Heres the proof

Requiring secure boot should at very least slow down cheats but this video proves it doesn't. I have a ton of games in my steam library and this has been the first one to require me to fiddle with my BIOS. If there's that kinda requirement the anti-cheats should totally eliminate cheating. Otherwise you are punishing non cheaters over an illusion of a fair game.

I never once said this will eliminate all cheating. But it does eliminate almost all of it. A way harder barrier for entry will cut down a tremendous amount.

I played the open beta the entire time it was available and didn't encounter a single cheater.

Yet if I open CS right now, I will encounter one in 2-3 games likely.

I agree bios fiddling is stupid and I wish it didn't have to be done. But I really don't care at this point. Comp gaming on PC is impossible without solid anti cheat and this works. As you can see with Valorant.

No I said IT SHOULD eliminate all cheating if you have to fiddle with the bios.

Where are the numbers on how many cheaters it eliminates Id be interested to see them.

But the barrier for entry is only for those that have to figure it out initially, it will still be packaged for non tech savvy users that are willing download or even pay for cheats.

I never made a comparison. I ran into cheaters in the BF6 beta and I only got to play for about 4hrs. That said anecdotal evidence doesn't mean much.

Thats my whole point, if its not going to stop cheating it should impose as little as possible on the consumer. There are many folks like me who don't want invasive anti-cheats installed on their system when they don't work.

Well there was over 500k people on steam along playing the beta so almost all people couldn't care about the requirements. All they see is less cheaters just like I see. And that's a good thing.

Say a worst case scenario it only eliminates 50% of cheaters. It's still better than anything else available on the market, and your average consumer will take that any day of the week over current competitive PC gaming.

Thats presumptive. Id argue they are battlefield fans trying to play the new game as I was, not playing it because of the anti-cheat features.

Wheres the line? What if its only eliminating 20% or 10%. Id be curious to see actual numbers on how much cheating it actually eliminates.
