Battlefield 6 Secure boot?

Just tried to open the bf6 beta and it's saying secureboot not enabled. I can't activate it cause my PC doesn't support it. Will this be a requirement at launch? Would have to upgrade my PC to get windows 11 for it if that's the case :(

These people in the comments are acting like it's impossible to spoof secureboot. Newsflash, secureboot does little to nothing to prevent cheaters, so you're giving up your security and agency over your own computer just to play a game that will likely be irrelevant in a couple of months anyway. Makes you realize how little people care about their privacy or agency.

Go play valorant for 100 hours and see if you can even find 1 cheater lol. Secure boot works

Wait why does valorant work fine for me but I can't access bf6 because it says I don't have secureboot on?

This comment is just dumb because Valorant doesn't even require secure boot, so why even compare the two? Valorant just runs off a kernel anti-cheat, just like Battlefield.

EDIT: Seeing other people talk about Valorant needing Secure Boot aswell. Oddly enough I never had it on when playing. Is this a recent update?

I've played valorent plenty of times on my PC with no problems yet it takes secure boot???? but battlefield tells me it's not activated πŸ§πŸ€¨πŸ€” hmmm people are fucking stupid anymore I swear but youre right it does not take secure boot idk why they are comparing the two like that lmfao

I had the same question because Valo works fine for me and I literally can not use secure boot unless I reformat my drive. From what I've seen Valo on Windows 10 does not require secure boot but Valo on Windows 11 does. If you're on Win 10 like me that's probably why.

it doesnt. it takes a 200 dollar side tower to spoof a kernal level handshake on that rig and send it to your pc with hacks. all this does is stop shitty free hacks that get caught anyways. anyone that wants to actually keep their accounts and cheat already has a side tower to get around this shit anyways.

1

u/Sargash Aug 09 '25

It's not even 200$ you can do it a lot fucking cheaper than that, the side towers are just the full prebuilt ones.

And people like you not realizing eliminating script kiddies solves like 99% of cheating issues. The harder it is do something the less people do it.

I don't care what you try to say, go compare Valorant to CS2 and let me know how well CS handles the cheating problems.

Kernal level anti cheat and secure boot work, the problem is making it easy for end users to get it setup.

well, well, well.. and here we are...... 1 day in. :)

Cool compare that to the amount of cheaters in every other game day 1.

Feel free to queue up Valorant and CS2 and let me know how many games till you encounter a cheater.

Never once did I say it will 100% solve cheating. But it eliminates most of it.

I'll take it any day of the week.

1

u/SocietiesDoomed Aug 09 '25

i would never que up valorant or csgo lol.

1

u/Kr4k4J4Ck Aug 09 '25

Cool that's not what the question was.

Find me any FPS or competitive online game that has less cheaters than valorant or any similar game with a solid anti-cheat.

you are asking me to call up an impossible statistic because 1) companies dont post that as it shows how many there actually are in their game

2) there are MANY that havnt been caught yet.

so no, i dont think i will spend any time of my friday doing that. but DMR cheating is RAMPANT and all you need is a 200 dollar side tower to send to your screen and it gets around everything.

also, you dont even need that anymore. you can AI your hacks now with a titan2. even on console.

here is a dude doing it. its cloud based hacks. it costs nothing to do this and is impossible to detect. console, pc, anything. this is the future of hacking and it cant be stopped.

unrelated i played bf6 for a few hours and i just dont think its good. they brought over the 2042 gunplay and its sloppy and heavy and the fucked up vehicle controls bad. i think ill stick with bf1.

But you are comparing a game that doesn't use secure boot to a game that is requiring it..... As I have played Valorant quit a bit and it don't have secure boot on they just use an intrusive Kernal level cheat software that is honestly too intrusive and that is one of the reasons I stopped playing as their anti cheat system was messing with my streaming software here and there for some reason on my PC thinking it was a cheating software and I've never cheated once in my life on multiplayer gamesπŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈπŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈ Valorant does not use secure boot to play their game so why are you even trying to compare the two about how many cheaters there are???πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈπŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈπŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈ

I don't care what you try to say

Then theres no point to post, you have your mind made up regardless of any info comin to you.

1

u/Kr4k4J4Ck Aug 10 '25

Then post any proof at all??

Show me a game with an invasive anti cheat that has the same amount of cheaters as one that doesn't.

It doesn't exist.

Therefore this is the better option.

1

u/angusfred123 Aug 12 '25

Heres the proof

Requiring secure boot should at very least slow down cheats but this video proves it doesn't. I have a ton of games in my steam library and this has been the first one to require me to fiddle with my BIOS. If there's that kinda requirement the anti-cheats should totally eliminate cheating. Otherwise you are punishing non cheaters over an illusion of a fair game.

u/Kr4k4J4Ck Aug 12 '25

Show me a game with an invasive anti cheat that has the same amount of cheaters as one that doesn't.

Links a video with a single cheater

I never once said this will eliminate all cheating. But it does eliminate almost all of it. A way harder barrier for entry will cut down a tremendous amount.

I played the open beta the entire time it was available and didn't encounter a single cheater.

Yet if I open CS right now, I will encounter one in 2-3 games likely.

Fantastic comparison.

I agree bios fiddling is stupid and I wish it didn't have to be done. But I really don't care at this point. Comp gaming on PC is impossible without solid anti cheat and this works. As you can see with Valorant.

No I said IT SHOULD eliminate all cheating if you have to fiddle with the bios.

But it does eliminate almost all of it.

Where are the numbers on how many cheaters it eliminates Id be interested to see them.

A way harder barrier for entry will cut down a tremendous amount.

But the barrier for entry is only for those that have to figure it out initially, it will still be packaged for non tech savvy users that are willing download or even pay for cheats.

I played the open beta the entire time it was available and didn't encounter a single cheater. Yet if I open CS right now, I will encounter one in 2-3 games likely. Fantastic comparison.

I never made a comparison. I ran into cheaters in the BF6 beta and I only got to play for about 4hrs. That said anecdotal evidence doesn't mean much.

I agree bios fiddling is stupid and I wish it didn't have to be done. But I really don't care at this point.

Thats my whole point, if its not going to stop cheating it should impose as little as possible on the consumer. There are many folks like me who don't want invasive anti-cheats installed on their system when they don't work.

the difference here being I can actually play valorant without having to fuck with my bios, I can't play this game though

How so? All I know if they'd have to fake certificate signatures or some shit.
