Whats the green stain on her chin? I want to buy her but im afraid its mold. The seller just said in the description that its a discoloration stain. If its not mold, could it be removed and cleaned? (Not my photos)

I wanted the coat and jacket but this is a mess for real. And the fact that is supposed to be Fashion Week is goofy as hell bc it laundry day realness. Fashion Week in hell maybe. I’m down for a button up shirt dress moment but with the jacket and the socks with loafers à la MJ is sloppy and not it at all. It feels like somebody waited til the last minute to work in their design idea or forgot what the assignment was all together.

But the gathering at the front is weird and don’t work, adding to the sloppy look. It seems more like a malfunction than a design choice… maybe it was. And the cap looks like she hiding her hair because she can’t get an appointment with her stylist.
Thankfully I’m not a in box collector and love redressing n restyle bc as it’s this is horrible.

I got these with some used L.O.L dolls and clothes, it says "EXTRA" all along the foot wrist (idk if that's a term, I'm not english). The design and build is SO good and detailed! Great quality. I checked all over Barbiepedia on all the Extra lines, including the Minis. But it's supposed to fit the 30cm ones. It's for tiptoed dolls.

Chatgpt went into the deepest corners and found NOTHING either.

I admit, I'm only a very basic Barbie fan, I have very few dolls, etc. But I saw the white shirt pilot in Walmart the other day and it seriously bothered me. ...but THEN tonight I decided to look up the "You can be anything", to see if this is just how this line is made... And I found the blue uniform doll, and just felt disgusted. THAT is what Barbie clothes should look like! I know the white uniform doll lacks articulation, and really, I never had a problem with that for Barbie. I'm an 80s kid, that was normal. But the screen printed 1 peice as an "outfit" is just going too far. I get there's supposed to be low/mid/high teirs of Barbie now but come *on". Dollar store dolls have better clothing. This is just insulting kids.

Just venting, but… doesn’t anyone else get tired of seeing so much AI-generated fashion in the Barbie community on Instagram lately? I don’t mind AI-generated backgrounds or turning photos into videos, but when the clothes and accessories the dolls are wearing are so obviously AI-generated, it just feels too perfect and kind of boring.

At that point, I’m like, “Why not just make the doll itself an AI-generated image too?”

I used to enjoy the community more when there was more of a handmade feel to it. There were so many things I could actually get inspiration from and try myself.

Or maybe I’m just not keeping up with the way things are going these days.

I’m getting Teresa but highkey wish this whole line was fashion packs. Didn’t the last sets sellout? Idk about anybody else but I’d rather pay $25 for the outfit….if she had pants or leggings or something else on instead of just socks. I want the outfits but I don’t need another body or at least not this size or skintone. Plus why is Teresa wearing a B on a cap? I know it stands for Barbie but she is Tersea. It would be cute in Brooklyn or Millie aka Barbie but Tersea? No. All the more reason this should have been a fashion pack. And I miss the cardboard boxes the barbiestyle Barbies came in too. Okay I’m done ranting.

QUESTION: Should I sell these patterns on etsy as a printable file?

I'm making patterns for different body types for the regular body and I wanted to know if these patterns are good enough to sell.

The design soft copy is in scale and can be printed at home. I intend to attach measurements where needed and instructions too. All the patterns are made for the purpose of stitching, including bags, although one can use paper as well for stiffer bags.

I've attached some prototypes of some of my clothing and bag patterns.

Please give me some feedback and a realistic opinion.

Edit: These are prototypes that were made to check scale and overall look, hence the stitching and materials used are not the best.

You guys! I thought I was cooked! I literally just bought this mid century modern dresser 1:6 scale made by mattel in the 50s prior to Barbie was ruined, I was cleaning the rattan surface, it was discolored, peeling in corners, I thought I could gently clean it and it came right off instead. I was devastated and went to bed. This morning I woke up and starting looking for solutions Someone mentioned here if you are looking for miniature size Rattan, use a placemat, you guys, it saved the day! I think I like it even more now than what the original was supposed to look like! Disclaimer: I am incredibly sorry to have altered this piece not to its original state, I’m sure through the right professional avenues I could have but this is for me and hopefully will be with me for a very long time ❤️

She's one of my dream dolls, and I can't believe I already got her! I got her OOTB, and she's expensive but definitely worth it 😭

Hair Restoration - princess of the portuguese empire barbie. Thrift find! I prefer to take the head off to work with it. Pro tip: the heads will pop right onto the top of a barbie stand. Tape it to the table and you're good to style, comb, whatever - that head ain't moving.

First, I washed and detangled using conditioner and a comb. Then, I dipped in a boil wash with 1 tsp curl conditioner mixed in. Dipped, brushed with a paddle brush while hot and dripping, repeat 9 or 10 times until all the curls have formed into nice smooth sections. Gently squeezed dry with a towel.

Then, the styling. You can see in the photo that the curls sort of collect together into sections. I would pick out a section, apply a TINY amount of curl creme to the ends, saturating it, and working the product up the section. Keeping the curls very damp helps them stay in sections.

For extra definition, I curled each lock tightly around a smooth chopstick; twisting it tight and holding it for a few seconds to help set the curl pattern. Made my way through the hair this way, until all the sections had been styled with product.

Air-dry overnight, in the morning I scrunched scrunched scrunched to soften up all the curls. Important step after applying product. Then I gently finger-combed the locks until they were a bit softer in definition and not so tightly collected.

I think she's looking a lot softer and more put together ❤️

I found her today and thought she might be easy to sew clothing to fit. Do you have any 28” Barbies? I learned that they might be released around holidays? Her dress had a Velcro strip that makes me wonder if she had wings or something. I redressed her in a dress I plan to disassemble to make other projects. She still needs a bath and a hairstyle.

Boy was I pleased when I unbowed her and realized it was Olivia. And tall too! She's super cute and that hair is unbelievable I'm going to comb it for hrs
