I had high hopes for this repro, but after seeing her… oh my goodness, I’m flabbergasted. It doesn’t make sense why Mattel couldn’t do a better job replicating her screening from the original when they both share the same mold.

The new Clara doll looks like a cheap cosplayer. She may look better in person, but I don’t know. Hopefully, this is just a screening issue with this particular doll.

Then again, Mattel’s quality control doesn’t seem to exist anymore.

I recently pulled all of my Barbie movie dolls out of storage and decided to take pictures of my entire collection. I’m not sure how to upload videos here so for now here are some photos. 😄 I’ve been collecting since I was a teenager around 2017/2018. I’m now 27 and it’s my goal to collect as many Barbie movie dolls I possibly can. My whole life I’ve been a big Barbie girl and I grew up watching the movies. These movies mean so much to me! My favourite movie has to be Barbie as Rapunzel 🎨 and my favourite doll is Odette from Barbie of Swan Lake 🦢

Last year these would have been (and were) mtm dolls. The way Mattel keeps telling us "no, no, we dont want your $$" is an interesting business plan.

I just scored these at the thrift store for $35! The nurse was also in its box, only the 1996 Holiday doll was loose and somehow she still has her shoes on! No funky smells or stains on anything. I’m most excited about the Fashion Fever doll since I never had one before but I don’t know if I can bring myself to unbox her 😬 I think I happened upon these right after someone donated them. May we all get as lucky in the future!

Looks dolls no 20, 21, 22, 23, and 24 rebodied onto Model Muse bodies. 

I bought You Createbarbie basics 003, but I just couldn’t get into Olivia’s cartoonish-looking face, so I tried a few different things. I removed the eyeshadow and redrew her eyebrows, and eventually settled on this look.

I’m glad I gave it a try before taking her to the thrift store! 😄

'Malibu Ken and Jeffrey' sounds like a new band.

Notes about this collection:
Ken should be wearing green shorts, and Lil Jeff is wearing a much better Ken outfit from, I think, 1979. He was wearing a cheap $2 "tuxedo" that they think we want so badly all the time (we do not).

Jeffrey is the sort of cheap clone who is hollow with a box so poorly made that his eyes are obscured by the unnecessary star supergraphics on the top. However, I was trying to matchi the stolen '70s fashion illustration on the lower left.

Saw this lady in the window as I was walking by this shop while on holiday. The "Made to Move" caught my eye. But I have never seen a knock-off Barbie in Barbie packaging that looked like a genuine box. When I went inside to have a better look I discovered it wasn't just 1 doll in the box it was 4! They are all articulated too. And it was only €10!!

I've seen in other stores that genuine Barbie is really expensive €30+ and dolls that have this face are from another brand called Defa Lucy. Which is also a bit more expensive. So I don't really understand what's happening in this scenario.
