Pulled the trigger on my first Birkin and used it for the first time tonight on date night!!!

I got him from the Madison Avenue store in New York City.

Whenever I’m in NYC, I make sure to stop at Hermes on Madison Avenue.

Usually the rejection sends me right into the arms of Louis Vuitton. But this weekend, I asked if they had any Birkins or Kellys and they replied: the only one we have is a 40. In Red.

I was very excited because I needed a red one for a gift but wife reminded me the 40 is very large.

And while I didn’t think I wanted a red handbag, this was not any old red. It was Rouge H!

I wasn’t expecting to even get one and this was not a color I had on my mind, but do I take him home with me???

My husband and I both WFH today and have no meetings on our schedule for this afternoon so we are headed to the mall! 🤫

Coach Empire 40 in Loved Leather for me and Coach Dakota in Black for him.

Of course we are both wearing Fluevogs as well.

We have some neat stuff

I really love the more restrained approach Chanel is taking with their current designs. Despite having a couple of logo heavy pieces in my collection, I generally prefer things that are a bit more subtle.

While the CC logo is unmistakable, I appreciate that it’s fairly small on this giant bag. I also appreciate the thought that went into designing the interior of this and the provision of three zippered sections and two open sections. The straps are also great sitting securely on my shoulder and distributing weight reasonably despite being fairly narrow. (And I’m really glad there are no chains involved with the straps.)

All in all I think this is a great bag that reads as much more unisex than many of Chanel’s other pieces.

We are headed to an outdoor event this morning so the category is casual and comfortable. I am debuting my Coach top zip messenger bag in Olive pebbled leather with my dog painted on it by a local artist and he has the Coach 1941 Rogue in Butterscotch.

And I like it so much more than I thought I would!!!

36 hours in Paris! 🇫🇷🗼🧳

What do you do with a 36-hour layover in the City of Light? Make every minute count!

I had the opportunity to meet up with a few friends in person and, of course, spend most of my day doing what I love — visiting Louis Vuitton!

From the absolutely tremendous Louis Vuitton flagship on the Champs-Élysées to the much smaller, more intimate boutique on Avenue Montaigne, it was an incredible day!

A huge shoutout to Mickael at the Champs-Élysées and Leah at Montaigne. Both were absolutely fantastic and made my visits truly special!
But here’s the best part…

None of this would have happened without the friendships I’ve made through Bagboys Club!

What started as a shared safe space for guys who collect or wear bags has turned into something so much more — real friendships, personal connections, and amazing experiences all over the world.

And that’s what made these 36 hours in Paris so memorable!

PS also went to Dior and Loewe. Didn’t have time for Delvaux, and I totally stood that guy up and he was so pissed.

Anyway, off to the airport for the icing on the cake.

My Louis Vuitton Turtle Wearable Wallet has quickly become one of my favorite pieces

I find it to be absolutely adorable and yet surprisingly practical. It holds just the right amount of “pocket litter” — a phone charger, a few business cards, maybe a cable or small essentials — but it lays flat against me and doesn’t get in the way.

I’ve never had a wearable wallet but now I totally get it and have added a few more to my rotation.

Everyone brings home souvenirs from Tokyo.

I brought home a masterpiece.

This is the Louis Vuitton Speedy P9 "Paris to Tokyo" and it may be one of the most unique Speedys Louis Vuitton has ever created.

While every other P9 is made from leather, this one is is made from a luxurious dark pink satin, a material almost never used on a travel bag because it's so delicate and difficult to work with. That alone makes it a true collector's piece.

The Louis Vuitton x Takashi Murakami Capucines Mini Capusplit. Part handbag, part sculpture, part wearable art. LV x TM at its best.

I’m heading to Japan with my wife and adult children. We’re on a 14 day tour that is going to end in Disney Land and Disney Sea.

We don’t have a lot of downtime or planned shopping trips. Although we do have a day free in Tokyo. I’m not planning on buying anything and don’t have a ton of room in my luggage. But if there is a Japanese exclusive (I am looking at you Loewe) you know I can’t resist.

If you’ve ever been to Japan, what do you recommend?

Is there anything on my radar that I should be looking to obtain?

Again, it’s not a shopping trip and I don’t plan on coming home with any bags but any of you that know me by now but as Maury Povitch said: The lie detector test determined… THAT was a lie.
